broganes getting high?? nobody asked for it but i’m delivering
broganes once hotboxed shiros car and honestly.. keith has never been so high in his entire fucking life
keith was so high that when he tried to get out of the car he actually ended up tripping out and faceplanting - shiro found this hilarious and snorted so hard he started coughing up a lung
shiro gets lowkey impatient when keith takes too long to roll up and he’ll try and take over. keith doesn’t like this and they end up shoving each other while keiths trying to lick his damn papers
when their parents go away for the weekend, broganes will spend their time lounging on the couch and smoking bowls
broganes once made pot brownies for themselves and forgot to get rid of them all. these brownies ended up being served at the family dinner. both were mortified when their aunt started grinding on all the furniture
broganes regularly try to out-smoke each other and it always ends in them just falling asleep and then arguing about who fell asleep first
keith will use weed to get out of trouble with shiro
shiro: keith, did you break my damn controller?
shiro: you did, didn’t you?
keith: [slowly offers the blunt he’s smoking to shiro]
i’ve been wrestling with this idea that riley - unlike pretty much everyone else in the cluster - doesn’t have her own storyline this season. the other sensates have career issues, family drama, burgeoning romances, identity crises… meanwhile riley and will are on the run, living in abandoned holes, their lives completely consumed by the threat of BPO.
and while everyone in the cluster contributes to that fight - for much of season 2, it’s riley and will who are living with the most immediate/severe consequences of it. will’s arc of the season is undoubtedly an identity one. his internal struggles are prominent throughout he season. will is a shell of the man he once was, forced to become dependent on drugs and live in hiding. riley’s entire life now revolves around keeping the two of them (and indirectly, the rest of the cluster) alive. everyone helps, but with will unconscious much of the time, riley is the one living this 24 hours/day.
so… i think it’s fair to say that riley’s arc this season is inextricably intertwined with will’s and, at times, subsumed by will’s. riley and will are an inseparable entity now - and that entity is on the run, living a half-life, living the life of a fugitive.
but i resist the idea that riley had no arc of her own. because when i look at season 2 riley… i see a fighter, a leader, a nurturer, an explorer, an investigator. i see riley surprising everyone around her over and over again with her aptitude, her courage, and her resilience. i see someone who pushes back when confronted with ideas she disagrees with, someone who stands up for what she feels is right.
and the emergence of that riley? from someone who, not that long ago, genuinely wanted to give up? is a story. it’s an arc. and it’s a beautiful one. season 2 is the story of riley remembering to “look up,” and revealing all the incredible things she can accomplish when she does.
Overall I feel like public school has so many problems and people aren’t as inclined to change them as they are for other institutions such as football stadiums, etc. No politician feels like school are a top priority because students can’t vote in elections and parents have more things to care about than just their child’s education (taxes, jobs, health care, etc.). Schools are repeatedly pushed aside for “bigger and better opportunities” when in reality they are the ones that need help the most.
To name a few problems:
The curriculum is so out of date and so is their teaching style. Hello, collective punishment was made a war crime like 70 years ago; can we just phase it out?
The teachers don’t care about their students and sometimes they don’t even care about teaching.
The teachers aren’t paid enough to care. See the above point.
Sports teams (especially football) seem to be given priority not only in the budget, but also in general.
The students aren’t motivated. Those who care only care about the grades and those who don't just do drugs and no body cares.
Can anyone say SEXUAL HARASSMENT?
Nobody cares about previously mentioned sexual harassment.
It generally is NOT a safe space, most people are NOT open to differences, and for the LBGT+ community and those with disabilities it can be a real dark place to go everyday.
It is a breeding ground of bullies and harassment.
Gender inequality everywhere you turn. Ex. Girls being forced into strict requirements for their apparel and boys being allowed to wear basically anything they want as long as they’re not naked.
And many, many, many more.
I just want to say that we should take a stand against it, and if you think public school problems are not your problems because you happen to be lucky enough to be one who is not effected by the problems listed above you are wrong because you might have a friend or family member that is.
The real shame hear is not the state of the schools, nor the people in it, it is the fact that nobody is doing anything to change it.

Christopher’s eyes drift open, and he smiles up at his lover. “Did you get it?” he asks as Claudia drapes herself around him.
“Yes, and I went ahead and prepared the dose for you as well. I tucked it inside the hem of the receiving blanket, so as soon as they give you some time alone with the baby simply rub a bit of the powder into their gums. Infants metabolize stimulants slower than adults, so you really don’t need to use much, but the sooner you do it the better. The cocaine must be in the baby’s system before the hospital runs any blood work on them.”
Kit frowns, his brow crinkled with doubt. “Are you certain that it won’t cause the kid any long-term harm?”
“It shouldn’t,” Claudia shrugs. “But as long as the brat survives who cares? We just need to get custody of that baby, Christopher. What does it matter if it’s healthy?”
