In Honor of JK Rowling Coming Out with New Books

So JK Rowling announce that there will be two new harry potter universe books coming out in October, sadly not about the Marauders :( So I’ve decided to post about my headcanon for a Marauders book, because while we all would love a Marauder series that probably isn’t going to happen rather a single book might.

Lily’s Journal- Picked up when she visit Diagon Alley for the first time, it never runs out of sheets

1st Year will cover

-Hella excited about starting at Hogwarts, list of spells she has tried, stories of adventures with Petunia

-Excited to be sorted in Gryffindor but sad Sev got sorted into a different house but they’ll still be friends

-Annoying toad Potter and his gaggle of friends, so stupid their pranks are and how dare they target Sev, why cant they just leave him alone (little does she know, he made fun of Remus’s scars)

2nd Year will cover

-Sadness about the anger and distance Petunia is keeping between them

-Toad Potter starting to ask her out in increasingly outlandish ways

-Sev starting to hang with the older darker Slytherin’s

-Rumors of a war brewing

-New spells and doodles in the margins

-Becoming friends with Remus over “muggle” books

3rd Year will cover

-Petunia ignoring her all summer, Sev reading dark books

-Excitement over new classes and new books from Diagon

-Running into the Potters and just being charmed by his mother and wondering why Potter couldn’t be like that

-In Defense, realizing Remus’s secret and being extra nice around the full moon

-Fucking period came and what do you mean there isn’t a charm to stop it? (Her rant inspires Potter)

-Doodles and hearts with boys names

4th Year will cover

-Relief that petunia is away at a camp for the summer, Sev both ignoring and being clingy all summer

-Sneaking away from female friends one of the nights in the first to get some alone time because so many people, and walking into an abandon classroom and discovering Sirius trying to wrap his ribs that were a parting gift from his mother

-Staying and helping Sirius wrap them and spending the night talking and building a friendship

-Lots of homework as the professors are gearing up to OWLs next year

-Going on a first date with a cute boy from Hufflepuff and bloody Potter ruining the date with one of his horrible pranks (actually that was totally fine cause the date sucked and she was looking for a way out, but don’t tell Potter!)

-Fears of the first war becoming more apparent

-Increasing tensions between her and Severus

5th Year will cover

-Tense summer with Severus and Petunia, spends time away with female friends

-Annoying Potter and how he is disturbing her studying for the OWLs

-More secret hangouts with Sirius, that end up being spa nights, when she notices his smile is more brittle than normal (insert pic of Sirius in green mud mask, pink curlers, and cotton balls between his toes)

-Increasing anger and frustration with Severus over his standing by and doing nothing when his darker friends start to torment younger mudbloods which ends at the end of the year with Snape calling her mudblood

(little does she know that this is why James always seemed to be picking on Snape, when really James was getting Snape to stop tormenting and injuring younger students)

6th Year will cover

-Starts with Lilly ranting about Petunia’s new boyfriend, Vernon, and how he is so boring and so obsess with being very proper

-Regret and anger over the end of her friendship with Snape

-Excitement over getting 6 O on the Owls and shock that 3 of the Marauders all did better than her cause all they ever did in class was goof off

-Rant on getting paired up with Potter on a month long Charms assignment

-Realizing how smart he is (coming with uses for spells that never crossed her mind) and how funny he is in conversation and how kind (she saw him approach a stressed out 2nd year and give her a small basket which contained chocolate, pads, tampons, small book on charms that help, spells to use when a guy says “oh you’re just mad cause you’re on your period”)

-Which then leads to her noticing that a lot of the younger girls approach him for extras because he carries them (Potter’s idea from Lily’s rant in 3rd year)

-More fear and more hopelessness over the war

-More spa days with Sirius and they talk about him and Remus

-Tea time with Remus where they talk about Sirius

-Confusion and shock and some other unknown feeling over Ja-Potter dating a Ravenclaw for a few months

-Year ends with her realizing she has feelings for Jam-POTTER

7th Year will cover

-Inviting Sirius to escort her to her sister’s wedding, finding out he is living with the Potters and how Remus is now jealous about Sirius ‘dating’

-Getting on the train and discovering Potter is headboy and them having a conversation that ends with her agreeing to call him James

-Seeing how good he is with scared first years and with all younger students (even Slytherins) that are afraid of the war

-Watching him start a defense class in response to the growing war, and growing closer as they write lesson plans together and share the headboy dorm

-(Spot of drool on the page from lily seeing James without a shirt)

-After the first quidditch game was extremely close and fast pace and thrilling, and after winning she ran across the field and tackled hugged James and gave him a peck on the lips (it was several, it was hard to tell what McGonagall smiling more for)

-Later they have a conversation about whether they should be a couple or not with the war happening and they decide it would be better to die with love in the heart than regret on the mind

-Joining the Order

-Worrying about Remus when he leaves on Dumbledore’s useless missions

-Peter acting weird, but assuming it just from the war

-Discovering Snape is a death eater

She knew there was no going back now, she sighed in defeat and slumped into the passenger seat. Brian looked over at her waiting for her to give him her address. She looked up and suddenly felt very out of he comfort zone. She knew a good car when she saw one and she was nearly squirming in her seat to try to prevent ruining it with her soaked clothes. When she realised her hands started doing and was waiting for her she jut told him to drop her off at the library. When he gave her a confused glance she shrugged it off hoping he would just drive. He didn’t push it any further and stepped on the accelerator. As he was driving he noticed her fidgeting more and more in her seat and looked over at her concerned. She didn’t notice and continued to look down at her hands. After a few minutes he pulled up outside the library and she grabbed her bag. He stopped her just before she could leave and told her that he could drop her home. She brushed him off telling him that she had work to do. He nodded unsatisfied but taking it. She quickly thanked him and went to step out of the car. Just before she was gone Brian called out after her.

“I never caught your name babe”
“Y/N Y/L/N. Happy?”

Notice

Just a quick update to say this blog will be put on a short hiatus! I know I just came back from the dead but I’m back in school and I’d like to put my main focus on that for now! I may be back around late October as that’s when one of my classes ends, but that’s not a promise! Take care, do well where ever you’re at, and see ya’ll later!!

Here’s a little doodle for now!

Everyone’s always talking about English professor Kenobi. Considering his love of research and tendency to take notes in the field during the show, I propose:

overenthusiastic field biologist/zoologist/archaeologist Dr. Obi-Wan Kenobi, who teaches when he’s not off doing research, and has become somewhat of a myth at the university because he’s always out in the field. (And when he’s on campus for a semester, everyone tries to get his classes because not only is he a great teacher, he’s just so damn fun)

I’m currently writing (stalling) a paper about herbalism for my Greek and Latin medicine class. I came across the mandrake root and thought of @thebeastpeddler so I roughly doodled some mandrake breeds (species?) in relation to the other plants.

Wormwood: known for its hallucinogenic properties the wormwood mandrake has a third eye. This third eye can peer into the future…for a price. Because the door between the future and the unreal is so close sometimes visions will really just be false hallucinations. They are very embarrassed by this. Still this species is know for mad geniuses.

Sweet Alyssum: because they bloom from a flower they are born on their backs, making them seem like they were born asleep. Golden footed alyssum is a wise and caring creature, they will help keep you calm through panic attacks. They tend to overthink things and make themselves worry. These roots help you sleep through the difficult nights but will sometimes need your help sleeping too. They come in many shades besides just white.

Belladonna: aka nightshade. They poisonous roots have many names, one meaning “beautiful woman” and they never forget it. Full of confidence these roots are little divas that end up getting into some trouble because they think “nothing can stop me!”. While the inner side of their petals is a lovely purple the back side is a silver that they believe goes with the gold sees on its head. They will often adore themselves with makeup after helping you with yours. A personal bratty cheerleader.

How did you pefect all your body arcs in all your drawings do you already know who you want your pose to be or. Is it trial and error??

I know with poses I do a lot of thumbnailing which I dont always show online! I struggled with the whole ‘but what pose should they be in?’ and would end up making a lot of really quick messy doodled trying out different poses until I got one that felt right. Thumbnailing relaly helps with getting a buncha ideas out without feeling like you have to make a perfect drawing.

The inspiration for those poses came from a variety of places like life drawing classes, film, video games, cartoons, and observation from life. If I saw a neat pose I would eventually try to use it with a character somewhere.

Back to thumbnailing though, I think it was partially just drawing a lot of poses over and over and over again that eventually helped me get it down. I can look at ever pose and think back to a time where I first tried it out and it looked awful. It just took reference and lots of drawing it repeatedly for me to get it down and for it to become muscle memory.

There are still poses I struggle with to this day but its a good feeling when you actually do finally draw it and draw it right!

TL;DR: It is a mixture of finding reference, trial-error, and drawing the same thing over and over again.

"You dropped this." - College!Calum Hood

You were never one to talk much. Sitting quietly in the lecture halls as some students debated or professors droned on.

You weren’t a big fan of the spotlight. All eyes on you and a quietness waiting for you to fill gave you a feeling in your stomach that just didn’t settle right. So to see you sitting quietly, doodling in your notebook was a familiar sight. Though, there was always one boy that seemed to be the center of attention.

His name was Calum (you had learned from the numerous amount of times the professor had said his name) and he sat a row behind you, four seats to the left. In your one class with him he was always saying something or asking a question. It came to be a familiar habit to turn in your seat, eyes focusing on him.

Every time you saw him he was always smiling. Always. His eyes slightly crinkled and his teeth on full display. You always wondered if he was always so bubbly or if it was something about anatomy that made him so happy. Hopefully the former.

That morning you had trudged your way into the lecture hall, a cup of coffee clutched tightly in your hand and your book bag draped across your back. After sitting in your seat and pulling out a few notebooks, more students began pouring into the room. You could hear Calum’s familiar voice getting louder and then dying down and you started to scribble random shapes and things in your notebook.

Usually the boy next to you wouldn’t show up for most of the classes unless there was something important going on so you were surprised when someone sat in the seat. Looking up from your notebook you could see Calum digging in his own book bag, pulling out a few notebooks and pens.

He looked over at you and instantly smiled at you, “Good morning.” You gave him a small smile, nodding slightly. “Morning.”

Looking forward, you took a sip of your coffee before turning your attention back to the notebook in front of you. There were still a few minutes until the class officially started so you continued to doodle.

You had a weird feeling that someone was looking at you so you dropped your pen, taking a sip from your coffee cup. Looking to your left you could see Calum looking at you and your face flushed.

“Can I help you?” You asked hesitantly, raising an eyebrow at him.

He let out a small chuckle, glancing down at his hands, his fingers twisting together. “No, sorry. You’re just…you’re really pretty. Sorry.” He chuckled once more and you could feel your face flush even more.

“Oh…uh thank you,” You said softly, smiling slightly. He smiled at you before turning his attention to the front, the professor starting the lecture.

-

After a multitude of questions and comments from Calum, the class was finally over. You packed up your things with your (now empty) coffee cup in your hand. Tossing your empty cup in the bin by the door, you made your trek to your dorm, that class being your only one for the day.

"Y/N! Hey, wait up!”

You spun around to see Calum jogging your way, a smile on his face. When he caught up to you you could see his hand clutched in a fist, holding it out to you. “You dropped this.”

He said with a breath, holding out his balled up fist. You raised an eyebrow, not thinking you had dropped anything, but held out your palm.

He smiled putting his closed fist against your palm before opening his hand and intertwining your fingers. Your face flushed and he smiled at you before starting to walk. “So where are you headed?” He spoke up.

"My dorm. I don’t have anymore classes.”

He smiled brightly at you, swinging your hands. “Me neither! Did you want to go get some coffee or something?”

You smiled at him, glancing down at your intertwined hands before nodding. “Yeah, I’d like that.”

Note: Mid-day treat for all of you lovely people <3

“Hey!” Jimin yelled and ran up to me; he usually met me on my way to school. “Good morning. Did you relax well yesterday?”

“Yeah. I did.” I smiled but started thinking about Namjoon and how I completely messed up by stalking him on twitter.

“Haha. I bet you did. Taehyung told me that you fucked someone yesterday.” He laughed.

“What?! That little rascal!” I yelled.

“Yeah. But you’re pretty messed up. I wanted to hang out with you but you pushed me away. Not to mention, you fucking lied. If you were going to go over to a guy’s house then you should have just told me. Fake ass bitch.” He looked at me from the corner of his eyes.

Pairing: Castiel x Reader

Warnings: none

Words: 2368

12th Grade History
History was a subject that had always seemed boring. Whatever happened yesterday was over and done with, it didn’t matter anymore. And it was one thing worrying about an hour ago, but a completely other thing that happened more than a decade ago. You didn’t care if George Washington was the first president or who won the Battle of Hastings. If it wasn’t affecting you, you couldn’t care less.

AU: Bad Boy! Luke / Graffiti Artist!Luke sort of

The clock is moving infuriatingly slow, as it always does the last five minutes of class. It’s like seeing the finish line right there in front of you, but stepping in gum just steps away from the end. There’s absolutely nothing you can do to make it go by any fast except doodle, erase, and doodle again in your notebook. You’re just about to combust from boredom when your phone lights up, with a message from your favorite face; the only face that can make you smile like an idiot—Luke.

‘Kill me. Please. Please.’ [x]

Winter Soldier! Steve Rogers is one of my favorite AUs and it’s slowly killing me from the inside oops

kaelaraine-deactivated20140501  asked:

Hi Lazy Yogi. Lately, I've been feeling lost. I feel numb. I don't know how to love, or if I do, then somehow it's not enough. I still seem indifferent and cold. Am I feel so confused with my life. People around me are so sure what they want to become, people reincarnate and carry their passion with them, but me, I feel so lost and clueless. I do not know what my passion is. I do not know what career suits me or if I'll ever be good enough..

I don’t think any of this is unreasonable. Western society is a profoundly confused game of lethal living.

First we are born, which is confusing enough. Then we are told to just enjoy childhood, because everything after pretty much sucks. As we move through the education system, we gravitate toward what we like and what we are good at. We avoid what is boring or what seems impossible for us. Then we are told to figure out a career, get a life, and then die.

We are raised by adults who are afraid of aging. We are immersed in media that attempt to tell us who we are, when the people talking don’t even know who they themselves are.

If that doesn’t sound like a recipe for cold indifference and numb alienation then I don’t know what is.

Anyone who is certain of anything really hasn’t taken the time to question things sincerely. Many people question society, others, or themselves violently. Some do so by means of depression while others through anger. But those are not sincere questions. They are more like tantrums. More often than not the conclusion has been drawn before the question is even raised.

A sincere question doesn’t presuppose an answer. It is more like a wondering.

In my experience, people don’t have passions. They are passionate. When we think of “my” passion and wonder what “my” passion is, we are objectifying passion as a thing. We turn it into a hunt, as if once it is discovered we will suddenly become passionate.

Notice that when someone is inspired by passion, they become very different from their day to day self. There is an element of playfulness and fascination, like a child in a sandbox. Is that something that can be taught or discovered after a long search? Nope.

All you can do is plop down next to someone in the sand, pick up a shovel, and start playing around. You don’t know what’s going to happen nor do you have a plan, but once you start playing with total presence then it just sort of unfolds.

I was just doodling in class and it became something quite wonderful on its own. I’m not an artist, not skillful, and not talented, but I found what I created to be beautiful. I experienced beauty. It doesn’t matter if I frame such a thing and plaster it to a wall and listen to critics applaud or degrade it. The beauty I found did not come from an objective quality of the drawing nor did it come from another person’s experience of it. It came from my own heart.

Similarly, regardless of whether or not you know what career is good for you, it doesn’t make sense to assume you will be good “enough” any more than it does to assume you won’t be good enough. What the hell is “enough” anyway? All beauty radiates from within.

You are not what you take yourself to be. You are not a body lost in an alien world. You are something unspeakably magnificent.

Your mind will not reveal this to you. The world will not proclaim this for you. Yet both the mind and the world are toppled by simply asking the right questions.

Daily meditation is helpful. Two books I would highly recommend for you are The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and Tantra: The Supreme Understanding by Osho. Perhaps reading some poetry by Rumi and Hafiz as well.

Also, seeing a therapist can be very useful. I spent the better part of a year seeing a therapist once a week when I was unemployed and without direction. It really helped having someone for perspective outside of my familial and social life.

Namaste, my friend. Much love.
