They move through the doorway and the sun hits Bucky’s face. His eyes flinch closed involuntarily, but the warmth on his face is more than enough. There’s a breeze too, the freshest air Bucky has breathed in months. It’s chaos outside, a clamor of voices in languages both familiar and foreign. Bucky is glad to ignore it, glad to trust that the Captain will take him to safety. He dares to open his eyes. Everything is fuzzy around the edges, like a waking dream.
On April 29th, 1945, US forces liberate the concentration camp Dachau. But Captain Steve Rogers and his Howling Commandos have a more specific mission - the rescue and rehabilitation of prisoners experimented on by Arnim Zola, among them, a man named Bucky.
In light of recent events in Charlottesville and the political climate of the US right now, I want to quote Elie Weisel, a Holocaust survivor who told us, “I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”
Once the baby is born I know Kaneki and Touka will have their hands full because he (I’m gonna go with it’s a boy) is just a bundle of energy. Even though Kaneki and Touka keep watchful eyes on him, he’s sneaky! The baby is suddenly gone from Kaneki’s sight and see from a distance he’s reaching for something up high and whatever it is comes loose and is about to fall on the baby. Kaneki is too far to get to him fast enough but he uses his kagune to stop the baby from getting smushed. The baby looks at the kagune in total awe and looks at his daddy and gets so amused the baby starts clapping and reaching for Kaneki’s kagune. Kaneki is now stuck with using his kagune every now and then to please the baby.
As the baby grows up he shows no signs of his ghoul side until maybe one day when he is 4-5 years old he’s bullied by kids and in his emotional state it activates his kagune. Kaneki is the one who ends up explaining what a kagune is and Touka is the one who teaches him how to use it and the dangers of it. I’m curious to see what kind of kagune the baby will have!
The baby is super attached to Touka when he’s first born and Touka also can’t really let him go. Kaneki is just ga-ga over both of them and his favorite thing to do to put them to sleep is read to them. And Touka is the one in charge of photos. And when it comes to sharing the baby Kaneki doesn’t fight the fact the baby is with Touka most of the time, but the members of GOAT are constantly arguing over who holds him and who’s next. I can totally picture Saiko forcing the baby on Urie and there’s just an endless amount of thoughts running through his head…and surprisingly the baby gets pretty attached to Urie.
Hinami is totally in love with the baby and is Kaneki and Touka’s go to babysitter (Saiko is 2nd) and the first time Kaneki and Touka leave the baby with her Ayato spends the day with them and while he’s afraid of holding the baby, he eventually gives in and instantly getting turned into putty. Then when he see Hinami with the baby, he just falls for her even more.
