Emmi and Lillian’s never-ending list of underappreciated dancers:
Juliet Doherty: Juliet is a 15 year old who dances at Fishback Studio of the Dance which is her great-grandmother’s studio. She started ballet at 3 years old and by the age of 5 she was doing a variety of classes. She competed her first dance at age 7 in a hip hop number. She trains with her mother and has been instilled with great discipline and belief in herself. Juliet has won gold at the biggest ballet competition in the country YAGP and has even had the opportunity to play Clara at Radio City Music Hall. Her favourite dance move is a saut de chat because she says she is a powerhouse when it comes to leaping.
You are already good enough to get where you want to go. You have greatness inside of you and it can be discovered at any moment. You don’t need to be at a certain level to say, ‘OK, now I’m great,’ or, ‘If I add this one thing to my repertoire, then I’ll be good.’ You’re born with greatness. All you have to do is recognize that.
