Adele, the love of my life

Since I’m at work and had to watch today’s episode on my phone with no opportunity to pause and/or rewatch, I couldn’t make out most of Jane and Rochester’s conversation. I just wanted to say that, well, I love this version of Adele. You can tell a lot of effort has been put into her education, but she doesn’t necessarily know what to make of it as much as she tries. Which I love? And then her sort of crestfallen look at Rochester’s complete lack of interest in her reactions. Poor baby.

I also liked the mini-argument between Grace and Jane, because both characters have clearly opposing beliefs and the actresses bring great presence to even the simplest of exchanges. I also felt the discomfort/miscommunication in the scene with Rochester, even if I couldn’t hear all the words they were saying. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to listen more clearly when I get home, because I loved their scenes in Rochester’s first two episodes.

Finally, this was probably the best use of accidental camera for me. It made sense that Adele was playing with it, and then left it there - either to continue recording or because she simply forgot. I’m not sure how they are going to keep this device up throughout, but I am okay with it regardless.
