Doctor Who - Series 1

Season 1 is perfect. Actually honestly perfect. Christopher Eccleston is flawless and incredible and even though he only did one series he really GOT The Doctor and in my opinion to this day blows his predecessors out of the water (not that I don’t love them).
He is MY Doctor, the first one I ever saw and he astonishes me to this day with layered performances I’m still discovering. I mourn the possibilities that could have happened if he had stayed but am thankful that he (and the writers and producers) could make this show what it was for an entire generation of kids.
Series 1 is massively underrated. It was silly whilst holding its head high, dark whilst being respectful of its roots and exciting without being over the top. The perfect balance, the perfect Doctor, the one perfect series.
