important things to remember:

  • ray toro went to college and studied film
  • ray toro is puerto rican
  • he plays guitar, piano, drums, and sings
  • he wrote a huge percentage of guitar parts and was a huge factor into mcr’s success and sound
  • without ray mcr would not have been nearly as successful or had the same sound (or may not have happened at all)
  • ray wrote and recorded and sang and mixed everything for his solo stuff by himself
  • ray toro is so incredibly important
  • people like to refer to mcr as gerard, frank, and mikey and obviously the three of them are just as important but ray is so incredibly talented and so severely underrated
  • please do not let bandom erase ray toro
Inshallah.

So, about the ‘O Helga night scene’… this might be over analysing it, but I was listening to the ‘O Helga Natt’ song and I realized that in the moment Isak says “Du er ikke alene”/“You’re not alone” to Even, the lyrics that are playing are “O helga natt, du frålsning åt oss gav” which translated is “Oh holy night, our salvation you gave” and I think that it is not by chance. In fact, Isak could have spoken at any time during the song but he says those words during “O helga natt, du frålsning åt oss gav”. If you start thinking about the hotel scene when Even is talking about the “Pretty Woman” movie and mentions the “What happens after I’ve rescued you? I rescue you righ back” line, you can’t really ignore the parallel between “salvation” and “rescue”, between the hotel scene and the “O helga natt” one. As if they saved each other. Maybe I’m reading too much into this, or maybe Julie Andem’s is a freaking genious!!! We already know the soundtrack plays an important role in the show, maybe these lyrics are another example. What do you think? If that scene wasn’t already epic, I think that if this is true it just makes it even more. I love this show so much.

Just now

Can someone tell me what the point of Halloween is? As if I don’t play enough dress up in my day to day life, now I’m stuck at a costume party.

No offense if you like it, though. It’s just not my thing.

Marinette yelped as a gauze-wrapped mummy bumped into her, almost causing her to drop her phone. She glared at them. “Excuse you,” she snapped, then hurried to catch up to Alya, who wore a witch’s hat and a warty nose that Marinette had customized just for her. The club’s Halloween party was in full swing, monsters and undead things of every sort dancing and drinking and flirting the night away. “How long do we have to be here again?”

Alya looped her arm through Marinette’s. “For as long as it takes you to go home with a handsome stranger.” She noticed her best friend’s sour expression and sighed. “Come on, you’ve been single for months. You can’t keep moping around in the bakery.”
