Interview: Judcody Limon from The Motel Life
Where did the name Judcody come from and what does it even mean?
I was originally supposed to be named jacoby but my mom feared that I would be made fun of because of the jacoby & Meyer’s legal network. Boy was she wrong about that.
I heard you didn’t graduate from high school, is this true?
Yes it is true; I did not graduate from high school. I didn’t graduate because I dropped out, not because I failed. I dropped out because the plan was to move to Glendale with my oldest brother so I had planned on transferring to Burbank but things didn’t happen that way and I decided not to go back. No regrets.
And why did they let you into college without a high school diploma?
You don’t have to have one to attend community college.
How did you get your start in music?
My oldest brother shared his music taste with me growing up so, my love for music started at a very early age. I would always rock out on air guitar in my room with my stereo up all the way and sometimes my parents walked in on me. They eventually got the hint that I wanted a guitar and after 9 years of no real birthdays they decided to make it up to me with my first guitar on my 10th birthday.
If you weren’t in a band, what would you want to do with your life?
I always figured I would try to be a composer and write scores for movies and such.
When you lived in that one room shack, where did you have to go if you had to piss or shit?
There’s a burger joint next to the place I lived and the library was across the street so that did the job.
How much coffee do you drink?
About 4 cups on a daily basis.
Why are you still using yahoo for emails? It’s 2011, you gotta use your own domain or gmail, at least.
haha I don’t even understand why it matters to be honest.
Favorite Rebecca Black lyric?
People have favorites?! “Tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards” you can’t make that shit up.
What do you want to say to all your fans out there in the Internet?
Well if I happen to even have any personal fans on the Internet, I would like to thank them for bothering to pay attention to my existence.
