At just 60 darkly hilarious and cripplingly depressing minutes, this gem not only made me deeply resonate with a stick figure named Bill, but also made me think about life in such a sophisticated way, causing me to ask myself just what the fuck like is supposed to mean and how am I supposed to live it, as well as why do some people have to struggle so tremendously while others get to live far more easily, and the more I think about what Hertzfeldt was able to accomplish, the more concrete my beliefs are that this is an animated masterpiece.
