#JovitaIdar was born in 1885 in Laredo Texas to a family of journalist. She herself would become a journalist at the family paper La Cronica where stories, poetry, social injustices, and regional news was printed. Jovita would receive a teaching certificate in 1903 and would go on to start The League of Mexican Women (La Ligament Femenil Mexicanista) in 1911. She would volunteer locally and provide food and clothing to the needy via her charitable organizations and eventually cross the border into Mexico during the Mexican Revolution to care for the wounded as part of the White Cross (La Cruz Blanca). She would marry Bartolo Juarez some years later and moved to San Antonio where she worked as a newspaper editor and started a free kindergarten and also volunteered as an interpreter at a hospital. #Chingona #Journalist
