Joseph Gordon-Levitt is doing an AMA now.
He was asked: “What are your thoughts on today’s amazing news?”
He answered: “It’s beautiful. I feel very lucky and proud to live in the USA, where this kind of progress is possible, even if sometimes it feels slower than it should.”
Belatedly here are some updates from Joe himself regarding some of his projects. You can read all his answers from the reddit AMA here.
Been doing a lot of work with David Goyer and Jack Thorne, working on the screenplay. We’ve been doing our meetings at the DC office, which is a frickin rad place to work. Also just had a great conversation last week with David and Mr. Gaiman. Neil has been extremely big hearted with me, and he’s the one I want to please most.
Coincidentally Goyer also gave a small update to Deadline:
Sandman, which Joseph Gordon-Levitt will direct and star in. He’ll produce with Goyer and involved as exec producer is Neil Gaiman, who created the classic comic that Jack Thorne is adapting. The story is a mix of horror and fantasy, and the central character is Morpheus, the personification of dreams who, after being held captive 70 years, escapes, gains revenge and rebuilds his crumbling kingdom. “I hesitate to definitively say when it might go before the cameras, but the one thing different between other iterations and ours is that Neil Gaiman has been in the room with us and is a vital part of the team,” Goyer said. “We have a draft Warners is very happy with and we’re moving forward, knock on wood.”
THE SNOWDEN PROJECT
While not really an official confirmation, this is the first time Joe at least acknowledges his involvement:
