Jontron is still trash. His “statement” to clarify his viewpoint only further highlights how ignorant and uneducated he is about the racial injustices of the world, and specifically, this country. He thinks he is some kind of enlightened figure above us all, and the fact that he’s “taking a step back” now to focus on his “comedy” shows that he really doesn’t actually care about contributing to discourse, helping people, and seeing all races get along. He’s just backpedaling so he stops losing followers and work. He says his words were “misconstrued” but I really don’t see how his anti immigration, pro white supremacy rhetoric could possibly be misconstrued. It’s simultaneously laughable and sad.

  • Playtonic: We do not endorse Jon Jafari's political views. To ensure that players feel safe and comfortable, we have decided to remove his voice from Yooka-Laylee.
  • Alt-Righters: WHITE GENOCIDE! WORSE THAN MIGHTY NO. 9! REFUND!
  • Jon: Guys, it's cool. I'm disappointed but I understand why they did it.
  • Alt-Righters: NO, JON, IT'S NOT COOL! I'M GONNA HOLD MY BREATH UNTIL PLAYTONIC IS BANKRUPT!

gotta say, i have zero sympathy for the yooka-laylee development team after this & i hope that if they stick to taking peoples money & refusing to give refunds they tank so hard they never get to make another game.

saying they “want to make everyone feel welcome” & then refusing to refund kickstarters who disagree with their decision to cut jontron, MOCKING the people who wanted refunds (& jontron himself, after he gave a very respectful & classy statement respecting their decision to drop him) & locking every thread on it shows theyre full of shit. they only want people with the right opinions to feel welcome. theyll gleefully screw over everyone else.

this is exactly what i was talking about when this subject first came up. the “its just a business decision” bs is usually just an excuse. this isnt business. this is political.

thank goodness i didnt back this game. in fact, i hadnt even heard of it before the controversy started.
