a long list of my fave lightning thief musical moments
before the play started they had fog in the air and the sound of thunder and crows playing over the speakers, it was so spooky, i walked into the theater and immediately fell in love (also they were selling orange chb t-shirts at the merch table!)
you’ve probably already seen pics of the set design but ancient greek columns sprayed w graffiti and covered in nyc scaffolding is the Ultimate PJO Aesthetic
sally calling percy “baby” :’) carrie compere’s sally was so good overall i loved her so much
mr. d’s song was so funny, george salazar really nailed him
luke going past percy while sword training and stopping to watch him go by when they met eyes uhhh…..
percy and grover’s hug when they see each other again, percy just ran to him and held him so tight i love them
luke annabeth and grover sitting together and joking in the background!! there were a lot of little interactions between characters when the focus wasnt on them that were so cute <3
percy making lightsaber noises with his sword when he first gets it before capture the flag
silena hyping clarisse up during “put you in your place”
grover crying about pan but trying to keep dancing during his part of the campfire song
percy at the campfire saying he can’t sing after he’s spent the entire first act singing, i love him
also the entire campfire song being abt how much everyone hates their parents and then percy standing up and being like “hi everyone, i love my mom”
percy climbing the scaffolding during “good kid” and hanging like he’s going to jump when he sings “all you get are bad grades and a bum rap and a bad rep and a good smack and no friends and no hope and no mom” chris made me cry real tears here oof
grover telling percy he’s coming w him on his quest and percy immediately going into Angry Protective Mode and grover jumping in before he can say anything w/ “don’t get mad!”
act 1 ending with this big triumphant song abt leaving on their quest but then the lights go dark and monster calls echo and groups of red eyes peak from the back of the stage and percy grabs for grover’s hand before the blackout 😭
“i don’t wanna die in the garden state!”
grover staring percy down for a good silent five seconds after percy responded to him talking to a squirrel w “this is nuts”
annabeth telling percy her mom turned medusa into a monster and chugging water halfway through her sentence so she doesn’t have to finish it
“that little squirrel came back and gave me these!” “three amtrak tickets?”
girl in braids and a floppy hat at the lotus hotel: why, my brother and i arrived just yesterday, may 1st, 1939!
thalia singing softly on the second level while luke and annabeth stand behind her with their hands held out, lit w green light, turning her into a tree while grover tells percy about being afraid he failed her, he was crying, i was crying
“it’s charon with an “a” as in AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”
creators of this musical, apparently: well we dont have time to focus on them facing cerberus so now he’s a dj for a sequined charon who rocks the entire theater
“i think this pit is tartarus” “(gasping) YOU MEAN LIKE………..THE FISH SAUCE”
the toilet paper guns used for percy’s water powers being shot over the audience until the entire orchestra was completely covered in toilet paper
“well the gods aren’t always fair but we’re not total dicks”
jonathan raviv’s quick change from poseidon to chiron was really quick so he came out as chiron with his shirt unbuttoned in the deepest v saying “I GALLOPED HERE AS FAST AS I COULD” which was ridiculous and yet completely in character
percy and luke’s handshake! and luke telling percy what he thinks of the gods and going for the handshake and percy hesitantly doing it w him bc he agrees w/ the way luke feels before realizing that luke’s the lightning thief
luke has a dark reprise of “good kid” when he betrays percy and i !!!! SCREAMED!!!!
also the creators of this musical, apparently: well we cant have a poison scorpion on stage so how about luke just fuckin stabs percy in the back? hm?
the stage was a huge mess of confetti and toilet paper by the end which is truly the only way a percy jackson musical should end
please go see this if you have the chance it’s so funny and so good, it’s really an amazing adaption that gets the tone of the book so well and every actor captures their character(s) perfectly, they all clearly know the material and seem like they’re having so much fun onstage, i loved it so much!!!!
anon request: Can you write an alec martinez imagine where you’re out with the team after a win or something and he gets jealous so he becomes overprotective and you think it’s cute?

so here i was playing a game of call of duty with johnny. “ha!” i laughing clicking the right trigger and getting the perfect headshot on jonathan. “not so quick anymore, are ya?” i laughed loudly.
my phone began buzzing with text messages from the one and only alec martinez.
'i’m bored plz answer’
i finally had enough of the buzzing and called him. “i’m in the middle of cod babe"i sighed over dramatically, obviously. then i continued talking. "johnny sucks at this game, holy” i laughed as i got him down once again.
Y/N took a deep breath, she had arrived at the Byers’ family residence. Her heart pounded in her ears and her palms were sweaty. She was asked to tutor Will in math, however she was so nervous to see her longtime crush, Jonathan. He had asked her to help his younger brother with his math that day at school, Y/N was gifted in math and was the smartest in the class. She thought it he was actually coming up to ask her out, but she was happy they had exchanged words nonetheless.
Y/N was just as shy as Jonathan, so the conversation they shared was quick and very awkward. She gripped the strap of her backpack. It was cumbersome to carry, she had many books and random trinkets that she never bothered to take out. Moments after she rapped on the wooden door, a familiar face appeared.
“Oh um Y/N” Jonathan smiled shyly, “come in. Will is just in his room.” He said. She nodded and smiled, squeezing past him and fully entering the house. She saw Joyce in the kitchen, preparing dinner.
“Y/N! Thank you so much for coming. Will’s been really struggling with math and Jonathan always tells me how smart you are so I figured…” She trailed off. Y/N watched as Jonathan slowly made his was to his room, his face bright red.
"Yeah, it’s not a problem, Ms. Byers.” She smiled.
"How is your mother?” Joyce asked. Y/N and Joyce had went to school together, remaining friends throughout adulthood.
"She’s great, busy, but doing well.”
"Oh good! Well, Will is down the hall, last door on your right.” She smiled. “Will you be having dinner with us tonight?” She asked politely. Y/N shook her head.
"Oh no, that’s okay. Thank you though.”
"Oh stop! We have enough food, it’s the least I can do for you helping Will.” Joyce insisted.
Well, alright. Thanks.” She smiled, making her way towards Will’s room. As she passed Jonathan’s she saw him hunched over on his bed, doing his homework. She imagined herself sitting beside him, doing her homework too. They would just sit in a comfortable silence, occasionally brushing shoulders. Y/N blushed at her thought. She came up with the most peculiar ideas.
As she arrived at Will’s door, she knocked. The sound of shuffling feet was heard on the other side and soon, Will appeared in the door.
"Hi, my name is Will.” The small boy said. Y/N smiled.
Hey Will, I’m Y/N.” She said softly.
Yeah, Jonathan tells me a lot about you. He says you could help me with my math? We started fractions and I’m have some trouble. My mom doesn’t trust him to help me.” Will told her, a sheepish tone in his voice.
"Fractions are confusing at first, but I think you’ll get the hang of it.”
They sat down at Will’s desk and got to work. Y/N was surprisingly good at helping him too. She compared fractions to pizza, which Will laughed at. He took the analogy though, and completed his homework. They tried some sample questions and soon, Will understood fractions.
"That wasn’t as bad as I thought!” Will exclaimed, closing his book. “Thanks Y/N”
"No problem, Will. You’re a quick learner huh?” She said. Will shrugged, standing up.
"Hey, want to see my Dukes of Hazzard set? I just got it.” He told her, already heading towards his closet.
"Of course I would. Sounds cool!” Y/N enthused. Will was quickly becoming her favourite human. Will took out the set he had been talking about.
"Look, the sunroof opens!” Will said, his eyes shifted towards the door. “Hey Jonathan, want to play with us?” He asked. Y/N turned around, Jonathan was standing in the threshold, his face turned red due to the fact that he had been caught watching as Y/N and Will bonded. He could watch the two of them all day. He loved the way Y/N didn’t hesitate to go along with anything Will talked about and how he already loved telling her everything and anything that came to his mind.
Jonathan thought Y/N was so incredibly beautiful.
"Oh um no, well I would, but dinner is ready.” Jonathan stuttered. The two left the toy and made their way to the kitchen, but Jonathan stopped Y/N. “Um I just wanted to thank you for helping him, I know he gets embarrassed when he doesn’t understand school, but I can tell he is comfortable around you already.” He told her, grabbing the back of his neck.
“You should come over more often.” Jonathan blurted, without thinking about what he was saying. “I’d like to see you again.” He said. Y/N’s ears went red.
“Y-Yeah me too.” She said, trying not to jump with excitement.
“Hey kids!” Joyce called from the kitchen. “Dinner is getting cold!”
ok so like I’m crazy busy with work and training today, so I likely won’t have the chance to post any requests today. That being said, I will definitely have some posted tomorrow, as I have the day off (yay, national holiday). Requests are still OPEN, so if you have a headcanon, plot bunny, or whatever, send it my way, and I’ll play around with it and likely post it by next Monday. (I’m mostly on a Stranger Things kick, but I’ll write for preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty much anything lmao)
Hello! I was thinking about reading Lockwood and co. But I'm still on the fence... Would you consider it a good read?
Oh absolutely! It’s an older kids’ level book so it’s a pretty quick read but Jonathan Stroud is my all-time favorite writer. He’s incredibly talented, and while he writes for kids, he doesn’t really dumb things down or even really censor his universes (the Lockwood universe? Dark AF if you think too hard honestly). If you haven’t read his Bartimaeus Trilogy, I HIGHLY recommend that. I was 13 when I read those books and honestly they fucking changed me. But yes, to answer your question, Lockwood is a great read, Lucy is a really interesting protagonist and the dialogue is hilarious and the ghosts are honestly pretty scary.
