Last year I was asked to participate in a swap for Ten Paces & Draw (so exciting!). For those of you who don’t know about Ten Paces & Draw…

“Ten Paces is a collaborative project bringing together a community of illustrators and designers. Each week Ten Paces offers a unique challenge allowing sketches to be made and swapped between artists.”

I was able to choose what theme I wanted to participate in and chose fairy tale! I sketched Thumbelina which was swapped with the amazing illustrator Jon Suguiyama. You should check out his website! He’s got awesome work!

Hopefully I can participate in one of these again and will probably be doing a process post for them in the future. Can’t wait!

Eccentric Millionaires.
Another great ten paces and draw swap I contributed to.

Final
I received a nice sketch by illustrator Alan Dalby that pictured this very peculiar man sitting on the toilet with dollar bills as toilet paper by his side.
This time I was kinda messing around with lightining, using some photo reference.
Results aren’t exactly what I was expecting, but I had lots of fun while working on it, anyways!

Don’t forget to check the other great swaps!

Here`s some process shots from a quick illo I`ve drawn for Jimmy Giegerich`s project called Bits in Multiples of 8: An 8bit-64bit Video Game Fan Art Zine.
Sunset Riders is one of my favorite arcade games all time and It was really cool working on this piece.
I`ve started it doodling Cormano and then choose to do the other ones too.
The final piece turned out a little bit funnier than expected but I liked it.
I guess I could have simplified it a lot more and imprve contrast between characters and render it some more though.
I`m experimenting some different processes lately just to figure out which one is best for me but things are still messy, haha.
I hope you like it!
