I kind of wish that the staging of Jon and Sansa’s and Sansa and Arya’s scenes had been reversed. All of Jon and Sansa’s arguments were out in public. Sansa and Arya’s were supposedly in private. Switching that around would have made the reality of Jon and Sansa’s dynamic that of two people who support each other but have different ideas about ruling and Sansa and Arya’s dynamic of staging a deception more organic. I know that it was staged this way to trick the audience into thinking Sansa was going to take over Winterfell, but the people who were fooled would have been fooled regardless, and the people who weren’t fooled just got pissed off at the mischaracterization of the characters. Or they could have at least directed Sophie not to look so legitimately terrified at Arya’s threats, or make it clear that Baelish was spying on these “private” arguments. A satisfying conclusion doesn’t justify everything it took to get there.
