Poem for Love Fools

They fell in love, but she’s beautiful
They fell in love, but he’s too handsome
They fell in love, but they were generic

They fell in love, but her cherry lip balm
They fell in love, but his face palm

They fell in love, but he’s young
They fell in love, but she’s restless

They fell in love, but he’s a full time job
They fell in love, but she’s a hairdresser

They fell in love, but she’s Mary Tyler Moore
They fell in love, but he’s Robin Williams
They fell in love, but Marilyn Monroe

They fell in love, but he’s the king of the world
They fell in love, but she’s been drawn like a French girl

They fell in love, but she hated blowing
They fell in love, but he wouldn’t eat her
They fell in love, but her uterus died
They fell in love, but he was impotent

They fell in love, but she cries too much
They fell in love, but he drank too much

They fell in love, but she tries to be strong
They fell in love, but he keeps on fucking up

They fell in love, but he lost it
They fell in love, but she lost it

They fell in love, but she’s a homicidal bitch
They fell in love, but she can’t handle violence
They fell in love, but she beat him

They fell in love, but she lost her mind
They fell in love, but she loves love so much, it consumes her

They fell in love, but she writes fantasy of cliché love stories
They fell in love, but every fantasy rhymed
They fell in love, but she couldn’t stop writing cheap poems about love
They fell in love, but he’d never read her
They fell in love, but he couldn’t stop writing shitty love songs after the fact
They fell in love, thinking of art not hearts
They fell in love, but their art was corporate
