↳ DAY 2

So what’s it all add up to? It’s hard to say. But me, I’d say this was a test…for Sam and Dean. And I think they did all right. Up against, Good, Evil, angels, devils, Destiny, and God himself, they made their own choice. They chose family. And, well…isn’t that kinda the whole point? No doubt - endings are hard. But then again…nothing ever really ends, does it?

Supernatural + Last Words Heard (1/?)

Kinda wonder whether what Mary wants is hunting or family, because don’t get me wrong I’m all for both, both is good, and it can work for Sam and Dean and hopefully Cas but I don’t think it’s what Mary actually wants..
I mean, I’ve been buying the ‘kill all the monsters to give sons a normal life’ thing but now I think.. if she really wanted family, she wouldn’t have had the urge to hunt when Dean was a kid and all? Maybe she’s really kidding herself? Or is this also still the messed up cupid/resurrection thing affecting her?

I also wonder if John would’ve been able to/wanted to stop after Azazel’s death if he’d still been alive back then..

What I’d also like them do with this character story is the boys not ‘because mom’-ing everything about her, because that way they can never develop an honest relationship with her. I’d like them to temporarily(!) break with her so she can earn her place in the family by herself and not based on expectations.

was just reminded again that the ring Dean used to wear was Mary’s wedding ring, and now all I can think about is John getting it back when he pulls into the police station to pick it up from the morgue, they’d asked him if he wanted it buried with the remains (not that there were much remains at all to bury in that coffin) and he said no

and he pulls up in the car with Sam in a brand-new carseat buckled into the back, Dean’s sitting in the back too, in the middle seat so that Sam can chew on his finger

and John goes in carrying the carseat and holding onto Dean with the other hand and signs the paperwork and takes the ring and they leave

the front passenger seat is full of disposable diapers and some transformers toys he bought for Dean

and he’s there with two tiny kids, no parents, no in-laws, no home, a few brand-new toys and the ring of his wife who four days dead and they

My headcanon for why Harold was so mean to Ward and not Joy is because Ward isn't his son. I feel like his wife could've slept with someone out, became pregnant and Harold found out too late (meaning everyone (the media) knew about it) so if it were to come out it could make them look bad. And we all know how obsessed Harold is about keeping the family image intact. So they raised him and ward never knew.

DUDE that’s totally the premise for the Supernatural crossover fic I want to write! Ward is actually John Winchester’s son (though he doesn’t find out until after John died).

And trust me, Ward is ecstatic when he finds out Harold isn’t his dad (though he’s a bit saddened to know Harold is still Joy’s father). I think Ward would drop everything, quit Rand, and go live his life how he wants.

Ward would probably lose his inheritance anyway, seeing how he’s not technically Harold’s blood. Or maybe that wouldn’t matter if the will is legally-binding, even if it comes out Ward isn’t one of Harold’s biological children? I have no idea how wills work. I like to imagine that Harold would have slipped it in there somewhere that the will is void if it comes out Ward isn’t his son. Just an extra “fuck you” after his death, ya know?

But yeah, it would explain a lot of Harold’s nastiness toward Ward. Great headcanon!

“I’ll tell you one thing. We’re lucky we had Dad. He could’ve gone a whole other way after Mom. A little more tequila, a little less demon hunting, and we would’ve had Max’s childhood. All things considered, we turned out okay. Thanks to him.”

- Sam talking about how him and Dean, DID NOT have an abusive childhood.

Request: Sister reader fic where she’s 16 and she gets drunk and she tells the boys how much she hates John and Dean and Sam defend him but then she says she hates John for neglecting her and loving the boys more than he loved her and she starts crying and they feel bad and don’t know what to say because they know she’s right (sorry if it’s too much)

A/N: thanks for requesting:) hope you like it!

Word Count: 699
 Warnings: mild angst.

You stumble into the motel room. You see that there are some takeout meals on the table with chairs around it, both of your brothers sitting one one each.

Sam looks at you. “Woah, Y/N. Are you okay?” He asks, standing up.

"Oh no Sammy, it’s okay. Sit down,“ You reply, a little zoned out.

You shouldn’t have been drinking really, but you accidentally had one too many beers at the bar. Not enough to make you fully drunk, stumbling around everywhere, but enough to remove the filter between your mind and your mouth.

And your emotions, at that.

Sam sits back down and you do the same, noticing the extra chair and burger to your right. "Who’s that for?” You ask.

SPN AU where Sam shoots his dad when John’s possessed by Azazel.

Dean gets pissed, really pissed, rip-your-heart-out-pissed, even if Azazel had threatened to kill Dean, torture John inside his own head, etc. He blames Sam for every little thing gone wrong or going wrong in their lives, and it turns into a helluva abusive situation.

So Sam gives up, after about five months, when it’s only getting worse as time goes on, and heads out to a crossroads and makes a deal for John’s soul.

The demon gives him the rest of the year before the deal comes due, and John shows up on Bobby’s doorstep two days later, completely revived and having clawed his way out of the earth Dean had buried him in. Sam’s forced to spill about the deal he’d made - it’s not much of a shock for Bobby, seeing as he already knew - but the other Winchesters react very differently.

And they try to break Sam’s deal, but they’re not having any of Sam’s opinion on the matter. In fact, they’ve taken to treating him like a prized slab of meat.

But Hell has seen its chance; with Azazel gone, they need a new king. And who better than the Boy King himself? This is their chance to raise their general right, so at every turn the Winchester’s make, Hell’s best is on their asses.

And Sam dies when his time is up, after they’d chased demons across the country, trying to track down the deal that never seemed to stop changing hands.

A year later, with the Apocalypse fully underway, an archangel raises Sam from Hell, where he refused to break.

I was watching the scene in supernatural where sam and dean were talking about jumping off the shed dressed as batman and superman and sam broke his arm and when dean said he had to drive sam to the ER on his handlebars i was like “wait… why did dean have to… oh that’s right john was a neglectful horrible parent who left a 9 year old alone in charge of a 5 year old” AND THE WORST PART IS DEAN PROBABLY MADE SURE JOHN NEVER FOUND OUT BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN TERRIFIED OF JOHNS ANGRY REACTION AND JOHN WOULD HAVE MADE HIM FEEL WORSE AND GUILTIER THAN HE ALREADY DID

“john wouldn’t return dean’s call when he said he was dying”

cas wouldnt answer deans prayers in purgatory, and im sure there were plenty of times when he thought he was gonna die

“but cas was trying to keep the leviathans away from dean!”

and john was trying to keep azazel away from his kids
