Check out more Orchestrale shenanigans here.

Aaron and Papyrus would both play trumpet. And try to best each other at it. It couldn’t happen any other way… not with how Papyrus wants to gain popularity, and not with how Aaron likes to flex and show off his stuff.

Soooooooo… really obnoxious high note contest.

Orch Dork Remarks

The musical excerpts they’re playing are:

  • Jupiter: Bringer of Jollity from The Planets by Gustav Holst
  • Mars: Bringer of War from The Planets by Gustav Holst
  • Concerto for Solo Trumpet and Brass Quintet by Johann F. Fasch
  • William Tell Overture by Gioachino Rossini (played an octave too high)

I have heard so many high note contests, especially on trumpet (I love you trumpets). At the middle school and high school level, it’s usually just a competition to see who can play a louder, higher note. By the time of high school honor orchestras and collegiate ensembles, you get to excerpt one-offs, where each player tries to best one another in all the famous orchestra solos they have memorized. Which is sort of what is going on here (though I imagine Papyrus and Aaron both sound HORRIBLY ANNOYING right now!).

Just Aaron being a glamorous trumpeter.

Oh my goodness I can’t believe I drew that. XD

This has to be the largest and most complex display of Orientalist jewel- and enamelwork I’ve ever personally seen.
