Memory can change the shape of a room; it can change the color of a car. And memories can be distorted. They’re just an interpretation, they’re not a record, and they’re irrelevant if you have the facts.
Blood! Sex! Jennifer Tilly! Yes, you could say Bound has it all, and on this episode Michelle and Ross talk about the Wachowski’s first film and all the cool shit in it. We also end up talking about pretty much everything else the Wachowski’s have made too.
Recommended in this episode: Curse of Chucky by Don Mancini, Ed Wood by Tim Burton
I watched U.S. Marshals today with Tommy Lee Jones in and it was amazing! It also looked great in HD. The plane crash looked awesome! Very much like the train crash in The Fugitive lol.
I loved the story of Wesley Snipes being set up and trying to prove his innocence and I should have known that it was Robert Downey Jr that did it. I thought it probably would turn out to be him but I thought I’d give him the benefit of the doubt and then it turned out to be him. I’ve never really liked him that much, he’s really just a smarmy bastard lol. Every character he plays is exactly the same and he seems the same in real life from what I’ve seen of him in interviews. Apparently according to IMDb he said after it was the worst action film ever. No, it wasn’t but if you’re gonna say shit like that and it supposedly depressed you so much to make it, why didn’t you just leave the movie? He was suicidal and somehow making this movie made him depressed? Working with great actors on what is a fun movie made him depressed? What?
This is what IMDb says: Robert Downey Jr did not enjoy working on the production, and in an interview shortly after its release, he said of the film “it’s possibly the worst action movie of all time, and that’s just not good for the maintenance of a good spiritual condition. You’ve had a traumatic year, you’ve been practically suicidal- what do you think would be really healing for you? How about like twelve weeks of running around as Johnny Handgun? I think that if you talk to a spirit guide, they would say, ‘That’ll kill you.’ I thought maybe there was something I was missing, and what I really needed to do was to be in one of those films that I love taking my kid to. But it wound up being really depressing. I’d rather wake up in jail for a TB test than have to wake up another morning knowing I’m going to the set of U.S. Marshals.”
Well now, I think I just dislike him more. I really don’t get why people like this former crackhead so much.
Tommy Lee Jones was obviously amazing in this movie and I loved the start where he was in that chicken suit, that was hilarious and he was quite funny in it as Gerard again. Wesley Snipes was also really great, he looked so young back then.
Robert Downey Jr was his usual self … Mr I think I’m the best but I’m actually quite mediocre. I can’t believe he shot Newman! That was just cold. Lol, he thought he could outsmart Tommy Lee Jones and shoot him after he’d already switched out his bullets which he didn’t even do all that discretely! OMG LOL! How about no? lol. Tommy Lee Jones is too smart for that shit.
Joe Pantoliano was quite funny again as well, he was really good.
A really awesome movie, I liked this and The Fugitive a lot and I’m glad I finally got to watch them because Tommy Lee Jones is so great as Sam Gerard! They should have made more movies! I’d love to see more, it’d be amazing!
