Rating: M, descriptions of graphic violence, major character injury, and emotional disturbance

Word Count: 57,000 (more or less) (across 4 chapters)

Alright lads! Here’s my entry for the JMGE, as requested by my secret santa, @yoitay, who wanted PacRim! Merry Christmas, friendo! I hope I delivered everything you wanted. This was a blast to write.

Fic Summary: Jean Kirschtein is a Jaeger pilot, just trying his damnedest not to meet a disappointing end. Maybe he had goals once. Maybe there was a part of him that the storm didn’t touch. Not anymore.

Having been kicked from the Mark II Jaeger, Atlas Rogue, on account of the fact no-one Drifts with Eren Jaeger and walks out unscathed, Jean finds himself relegated to the Anchorage Shatterdome, Alaska, the very edge of the world. There’s a new Mark IV about to be launched, and it needs a pilot. Technically - it needs two pilots. It’s a shame he has a chip on his shoulder the size of a Kaiju.

A JMGE PacRim AU for Yoitay, exploring the journey of a Jaeger pilot from the bottom of the barrel, to the cusp of hope, across every up and down in between.

I don’t want to drone on and on about this because I easily could. But it’s so clear that he loves being with fans and he loves interacting with us and showing how much he appreciates and loves us. He knows that without us he couldn’t be doing what he loves and he couldn’t be sharing his talent with the world and I’m so grateful that this little baby gets to give back to us in any way because the smile that it brings to his face warms my heart like nothing else.

February 14th 1852: Great Ormond Street hospital founded

On this day in 1852, the Great Ormond Street Hopsital for Sick Children opened in London. In the mid-nineteenth century, despite high child mortality rates, there was little professional medical help available for children, with many parents opting to care for their children themselves. Dr. Charles West identified this problem, and drew attention to childhood diseases in a series of lectures. It was Dr. West who fought for the opening of Great Ormond Street, the first hospital of its kind in the UK. When the hospital first opened its doors, it had only ten beds, and was led by the matron Frances Willey. Great Ormond Street struggled financially in its first years, but in 1858 it was saved when famed author Charles Dickens gave a public reading of A Christmas Carol to raise money for the hospital. With Dickens’s money, the hospital could expand and increase its bed capacity to 75. In the years that followed, Great Ormond Street further expanded and attracted notable patrons who wanted to support its work. Most famously, in 1929 the author J.M. Barrie donated the copyright to his creation Peter Pan to the hospital, which has provided the hospital with a steady income. Great Ormond Street is a British institution, and continues to have a worldwide reputation for patient care.

This brings me right back to yesterday’s post. Jimin’s said billions of times how much he loves to dance and perform and he’s truly living his dream. He’s so talented and it’s such an incredible experience to watch him on stage because he brings you into his world and he gets you hanging on his every move even if you don’t see him as your “bias”. Everyone jokes and calls him their bias wrecker because of his blinding stage presence and honestly there’s no other person on this planet who could make me a proud mother and a weeping child at the same time.

In which Jimin and Jungkook decide to skip practice and force you out of class to go shopping and Tae decides to join last minute
