Seventeen years to the day after breaking Lou Gehrig’s consecutive game record, Cal Ripken, Jr. becomes the fifth Oriole to have a statue dedicated in Camden Yards’ Legends Park. Ripken joins Frank Robinson, Earl Weaver, Jim Palmer and Eddie Murray, along with Brooks Robinson, who will be also honored at the end of the month.

A WildC.A.T.s sketch.

One thing I think many writers of the Wildcats didn’t understand was the importance of Emp and Void. Without Emp the Wildcats don’t really make sense. He’s the hero of the series. Lee and Choi continually made Emp central. So did Alan Moore. When Emp and Void were taken out of the series it really feels directionless.
