Styling the Skirt of Winter

Well, it’s official… I have fallen in LOVE with Jigsaw-London’s Dotty Jacquard Bell Skirt! When I originally ordered the skirt I was set on tailoring the hem about an inch or so, making it just a tad shorter. Of course, as the busy holiday season is here, I am finding less and less time to do little sewing projects for myself… so I decided to give the skirt a go without adjusting the hem. To my surprise, I fell in love with the skirt just as it came… It has inspired a whole new realm of stylings within my wardrobe!

Pictured above: Jigsaw-London’s Dotty Jacquard Bell Skirt, Jigsaw-London’s Boyfriend Cashmere Sweater from years ago, Grey Leather Jacket by Ever, Chocolate Brown tights and Dolce Vita Laci Suede Ballet Flats in Purple… An interesting combo of colors, but since the leather jacket is a muddy grey it’s the perfect piece to pair with creme, black, and chocolate brown.

In the past I’ve been one to stick to more bohemian looks, like my favorite, vintage flowing maxi skirt in a multi-colored print or Jigsaw’s fabulous Kaftans that speak to the Talitha Gettys of the world! Yet… something about this Winter has me leaning towards more tailored pieces, short skirts with stockings, the mod and the slightly menswear inspired looks…

Watch as I style three very different looks with this one simple, yet… oh, so stylish jacquard skirt:

First, there’s a Rock n’ Roll inspired look for the hipster set; Second, a more Business Casual look (with flare) for the artistic, chic woman; Third, an elegant, Cocktail look complimented by Sequins and Velvet for a chilly night out on the town!

Summer lovin’! Which brightly colored look do you love the best?
