I wish there were someplace, anywhere, like Harajuku or Shibuya in the USA. The only ‘fashion hubs’ we have are home to high fashion couture- there’s almost no street fashion scene at all, and certainly nowhere like that, where tons of people put on their creative outfits just for the sake of hanging out and showing off their sense of style. (IF there is a place in America like this, I am not aware of it.)

I live in an area that is very conservative and mostly white people live here. Anything the least out of the ordinary for anyone around here is automatically put down, and so I have been discouraged from dressing in my favorite Japanese fashions. However, I want to get past this and do what makes me happy, and I encourage others to do so as well. Don’t be afraid and be yourself!

An idea I have

For a while I have been thinking about this idea. I’m posting it here because I think I can find people who would like the idea.

Now my idea. I have been thinking about organizing a small book club kind of thing. But instead of books, we read manga. Every month or so we can read a manga from a different genre and at the end of the month we discus the manga and share our thoughts with each other etc. Of course this will be an online thing so everyone interested could join.
I don’t know if this already exists. But I still would like to do this and I wonder if anyone else would be interested in doing something like this. So please let me know. ^^

I love Gyaru makeup and fashion, but I don’t really bother with it because I’m mixed and think I would never really look the part, and as much as I love Japanese and even the Korean Ulzzang styles, it’s bitter sweet when I realize how they even have a western standard of beauty, I’ll never have pearly white skin. And I can’t even use lotion from Japan or Korea because they have skin whitening properties in them.
