@cosleia called me out to do this “draw your favorite character Lisa Frank style” challenge, and as someone who turned her photography assignments in to her professor in a Lisa Frank folder (much to his chagrin), I loved the idea immediately.
This was hands down the most fun I have had coloring something in a long time. 0 Stress, ALL NEON
Staying inside on this wet, rainy day to enjoy our Book Date of the week, I FOUND YOU by Lisa Jewell. Here’s the description:
Two decades of secrets, a missing husband, and a man with no memory are at the heart of this brilliant new novel, filled with the “beautiful writing, believable characters, pacey narrative, and dark secrets” (Daily Mail, London) that make Lisa Jewell so beloved by audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
Lisa Folawiyo (@lisafolawiyo) is one of the best-loved designers in the African Fashion industry, a pioneer in the popularity of beaded ankara and internationally known for her fashion labels under the Jewel by Lisa umbrella, namely Jewel by Lisa, the J label and Pretty Precious kids collection. Although her work has been featured worldwide, from Lagos Fashion and Design week to New York Fashion Week, Folawiyo emphasises the notion of looking more inward rather than internationally for recognition.
Guardian life caught up with Folawiyo for a chat to celebrate International Women’s Month and find out more about her progression as a fashion designer in the Nigerian high society.

There is little more I believe in than love. I like to read about love, learn about love, lose myself in love. And each of these books let me drown in love, whether it be in whoops of delight, in shouts of frustration, in moments which melted my heart or which made me cry.
They’ve all stayed with me, the characters and the story and the way of them when other books fall out of my head a week after I’ve finished reading them, these ones etched their way into my heart for good.
