jesus walked the earth

are y’all not ashamed when you post selfies in mirrors that look like they have been nutted on 18,000 times and not cleaned since jesus walked this earth? smh

I’m seeing a lot of complaints and cries of “please be good!” when it comes to the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, as if it’s not the movie that people on tumblr have been demanding since before Jesus walked the earth. So we’re about to get a WW movie and now people have trepidation? Now people are going to hold it to a standard just above “solid brick of gold story telling”?

This movie is going to be judged to hell and back by the very same people that begged for it to be made, and these very same people all have One Way they want the story to be told. I mean, y’all already know it’s not going to do what you want it to do, so maybe chill out, watch the trailers again, and go in not expecting anything but Diana and her supporting cast fighting during The War to End All Wars against Ares and his crew.

That’s all there is to it, any further complaints can be directed to the first person who cares, because it sure isn’t me.

Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. – John 1:17

Guard your heart, but yet still, with grace and truth.

Jesus knew the Old Testament. He knew The Law. He knew what was written. He knew the truth. Why? Because He was the truth (John 14:6). And He was also grace.

When Jesus walked this earth He had a way of speaking to people that was both grace and truth. He didn’t hold back from talking about sin or calling out what was wrong…but He didn’t throw stones either. He didn’t turn his back on the unclean, or the tax collectors, or even the people that wanted Him dead…He did the opposite. Even to the death of the cross. He didn’t fight against it. He didn’t call on angels to save Him from the crucifixion. Instead, he bore the weight of a world that was filled with sin even though He had never even sinned himself.

That’s grace and truth. And this is our example even when it comes to the matters of our broken hearts. Even when it comes the people that have hurt us. Even when it comes this world that constantly seems to be challenging a life of righteousness everyday. Even when it comes to people who talk about us behind our backs. Even those that betrays us. Jesus didn’t put up walls to block himself for those that wronged them. He stretched out His arms and still loved them, giving the very worst of sinners access to the Heavenly Father.

So who are we to keep putting up walls? I know, it’s hard. There are some reading this who have endured some unbelievably difficult situations. Some of you had your innocence taken away. Some of you were bullied so much to the point that you thought you’d never be able to trust a friend again. Some of you have had your heart so broken that you’re uncertain if you’re even capable of loving ever again.

Whatever it is, we don’t have to downplay what we’ve gone through or what others have done to us. But we can pray and ask the Lord to heal our hearts and to help us in moving on His way. We can pray and ask the Lord to help us to be more like Jesus everyday…less walls, more love. Continuing to guard our hearts, yet still, with grace and truth. -

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for making Yourself available to us even in this time of history where we are most proud of ourselves. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that in this changing and wasting away period for humanity, You are our constant source of hope, salvation, and repentance. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that in our weaknesses You enable us to repent by Your love that also brings us peace over what we cannot understand or what we cannot do ourselves. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that every shame and sorrow can be lifted up to You and that You grant us mercy with the gift of joy along the way. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that when words are too few from my broken heart or confused mind, You listen and comfort me because all You ask for is our honest surrender. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that even in my pride and limited understanding, You treat me with patience and give me my real needs even before I ask. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for everything You allow to happen while making sure I am Yours and I can always find love in yielding to You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being my redeemer when I can’t stand up for myself esp when words are not what it takes to change people’s mindset. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that while sin is death it has no sting over those who trust in You because You died for us and rose again. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that in our salvation You make sure that every temporal desire will reveal to us the marvelous joy of looking forward to eternity. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for calling us into Your presence and for keeping me close to You in this walk on earth. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for never withholding good even in the times we miss to ask for it or fail to acknowledge Your grace. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for every heartbreak that liberates us and blesses our souls. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for not just second chances, but for the grace of repentance that never leaves us unchanged when we choose You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being You, our greatest need and best gift to ever receive today and forever. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your sacrifice that made way for us to be a part of Your Father’s kingdom. Thank You for every single circumstance, person, place, and Scripture You used/use to bring us to You. Thank You, Lord Jesus. Words will never be enough but You know that we need to learn to be more grateful and every bit of our effort to praise You helps us keep our eyes on You. Thank You, Lord Jesus *hugs*

Thank God – it’s Friday!
Give thanks to the Lord Jesus in prayer :)

If you don't mind me asking, what are your thoughts on the LGBT+ community?

I think it’s difficult to give thoughts on an entire community because everyone is different and unique etc etc. However I think they are loved by God just as all of us are. And they are sinners just like me and you and everyone else who ever walked the earth (except jesus, hear me out yall). i think they have different struggles that are no worse and no better than anything i struggle with (or anyone for that matter). we all need redemption and to turn away from what causes us to stumble and distracts us from God and his unique design and plan for us.

Does it in any way invalidate the teachings of a religion if we somehow discover sometime that the founder definitely never lived? I don't think so when it comes to Buddhism or Taoism or Yoga, because these practices work independently of their founder. However regardless of how people like you and I have interpolated it, Biblical Christianity, relying on the crucifixion being a historical event, falls apart if Jesus is a mythical figure who never walked the Earth.

Well, you have a point. Jesus went from a teacher who instructed all of us on a moral way to live to a God-Man after Constantine. We can take the wisdom from the Bible and dispose of the supernatural stuff as Thomas Jefferson and Leo Tolstoy did in their “revised” gospels.

Our Morning Offering – November 24

Lord Jesus, when You walked the earth,
Your humility obscured Your Kingship.
Your meekness confused the arrogant,
Hindering them from grasping Your purpose,
Your nobleness attending to the destitute.
Teach me to model after Your eminence,
To subject my human nature to humility.
Grant me with a natural inclination
To never view myself greater than anyone.
Banish all lingering sparks of self-importance
That could elevate me greater than You.
Let my heart always imitate Your humility!
Amen

Hey, you're not a horrible person because someone is mad at you, plenty of people get mad at good things. Just remember that Jesus, in all of His goodness and light, still had so many people hate and hurt Him. Negative reactions doesn't mean the original thing was bad, it just means that people have their own perceptions, even if they are wrong. I'm so sorry that these people have hurt you because you do NOT deserve it. You have helped me personally so much by being an amazing person

I don’t mean to compare you to Jesus, I mean to remind you that people still hated even the most perfect and good and loving person ever to walk the earth. If people can hate Jesus, people can hate anyone and it’s not your fault people are choosing to misinterpret what you said and turn it against you.

I was wrong. I apologized. I should be on the Cross because I’m a sinner. I put Him there by existing. My sin is existing. God forgive me for existing.

day 4/30 day studyblr challenge > your most recent work.

january 14th, 2017. i stayed up until 12:30 last night working through the first chapter of my new testament textbook! it’s so interesting seeing how the history i’ve learned about so many times actually took place while Jesus was walking the earth…it’s so amazing.

Catholicism is not Christianity

“Catholicism believes in the traditions they hold being as sacred as the Bible they read.“In the supremely wise arrangement of God, Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture and the magisterium of the Church are so connected and associated that one of them cannot stand without the others.”(Vatican Council II) Jesus plainly says in the Bible that there are people whose hearts are far from Him even though these people claim to worship Him. He says that these people follow the traditions of men instead of their own Lord. (Mark 7.6-9) So from this, one can see a denial of a decree from Jesus Himself that traditions will take away from the word of God. Catholicism is based on a few things though: The Bible, Tradition, and the works that Catholicism has added. These traditions that Catholicism follows range from how they proceed with their church service to the kissing of the pope’s hand to catechism. With tradition defying God in Mark, we can also see it in Matthew: “Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.” (Matthew 15.6b). Catholicism not only adds tradition to the Bible, but it also adds works.

In Catholicism, you are to work toward salvation, forgiveness for sins is through another sinner (called priest), and that the pope is the representative for God on earth. This is where Catholicism is denying sound Biblical doctrine again and the Gospel itself. The Bible clearly says how it is that a Christian is saved and from this salvation, reborn through Christ Jesus: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2.8–9), but from Catholicism we can clearly see a denial of THE GOSPEL. “The Sacrament of Baptism…Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life…through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn [born again] as sons of God…” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Sec. 1213, p.342). Catholicism has added the Baptism as a requirement for, and the basis for, salvation when clearly Holy Scripture tells us that it is our Lord and Savior’s Grace alone by our faith alone that caused salvation. This isn’t the only work that the Catholic church has added to the Bible.

According to Catholicism you need to be constantly doing good works in your life to be saved but, from previous scripture, one can see this is Doctrinally wrong. To be forgiven of one’s sins, one has to talk to a priest and he can forgive them.“The forgiveness of God can be obtained only through the supplication of priests.” (Pope St. Leo the Great) A great question arises here as a Christian and it was asked in the Bible. “Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Mark 2.7b) This is a great rhetorical question which also leads one to question priesthood as well, but the Bible has a distinct answer in just who priests are.“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood… a people belonging to God…”(1 Peter 2.9, a referring to the Christians). The pope claims to be THE representative for God on earth, “The entire body of society is sick; all it’s most noble parts are infected; the very sources of life have been tainted. The one refuge, the one remedy, is the Pope.”(Pope St. Pius X), but according to sound Biblical Doctrine, one can learn something quite different. “he that hath seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14.9) Here, Jesus says that he is the form of God walking the earth. That if you have seen God, you have seen Jesus, and that if you have seen Jesus, then you have seen God. This would make him the representative of God, and God, on earth whom the pope claimed to be. Claiming to be the representative of God sounds mildly all right until you realize that it means you are claiming to be God.

When looking at the beliefs of Christianity compared to Catholicism, one can see the difference in the two. Denial of the Gospel should have been a key sign. Claiming to be the representative of God, a role placed only for Christ Jesus, should have been another sign. Traditions taking away from the word of God can be seen as yet another indicator. With these reasons out in plain sight with sound Biblical Doctrine to earnestly contend for the faith of Christianity, one can see why Catholicism isn’t Christianity.”

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. John 1:14
Why did Jesus come to earth as God in human form? Was it to give us the ultimate teachings ever? No. Though they were the greatest teachings ever given, He came here for more than that. Did Jesus come to set the perfect example of how a man or woman should live? He came to do that and much more. Did Jesus walk this earth merely to do miracles and heal people? While He always reached out to people in need, that was not His primary purpose.
C. S. Lewis said it well: “The Son of God became a man that men might become sons of God.” Now that is something worth celebrating.
Merry Christmas!

If Jesus were walking the earth today, and a group of homosexuals and heterosexuals ran up to him and asked him what he thought of the Supreme Court ruling, I bet he would pause for a bit, and then say just one or two sentences. And those one or two sentences would cut to the heart of those gathered, and make them realize that the darkness in their own hearts was more threatening than any Supreme Court ruling. And some gathered would leave in anger, plotting against Jesus, and some gathered would be grieved about the evil in their own hearts and marvel and say “Truly this man is the son of God.”
I'm Back. Starting with...

Hello, my empty diaries.

I haven’t been on here in a while. And the truth is, I’ve been afraid of tumblr. I deleted it off of my phone and stopped using it. Life has a crazy way of changing and changing YOU. That’s what’s been happening to me.

I’ve realized a lot of things in the past few months.
1. I’m EXTREMELY sensitive to the things going on around me.
2. I was way too comfortable with giving into the temptations of the devil.
3. I can come off as extremely judgmental.
4. I don’t need to be right all the time.
5. I’m not GOING to be right all the time.
6. God is not like us. He judges in a way that is pure and holy and coming from a place of helping you be a better person.

He does not except us to be perfect. He expects us to try. And by try, I don’t mean try to be perfect. He expects us to try our best. When I mess up, He doesn’t expect me to throw in the towel and give up. He wants me to shake it off and get off my knees…

God is smart. He does everything for a reason. A GOOD reason. And if God allows me to go through something, He’s more than likely kick-starting a change in me. I’ve been through a lot in these past few months, some of which, I wish I could take back. Some of which, I wish I didn’t have to go through. Some of which, I prayed that God would take from me.

But I get it now. Everybody goes through something.

From:
bullying, abuse, bad relationships, problems at home,
To:
Losing your record label, people losing faith in you and your craft, the people who are supposed to be working with you are really working against you.

I’ve had my share, guys.
But I realized that through everything. Through all the mistrust and the struggling and the fighting for myself and what I knew to be right and not losing my heart and my faith along with everything else, it was my FAMILY. They were the ones who were there for me and who still are. They helped pick me back up and they picked themselves back up and we’ve gone on as a family an as individuals.

And I say again. I’m not expected by ANYONE, not even God, to be perfect. Because the one spirit to ever walk this earth that was perfect, is Jesus. And it was only possible for him.

Guys, I’m back and I want you guys to know that any struggle can be overcome with the love of the Lord.

Now, I don’t know everything about the bible and I can’t refer back to it in every situation. But there is a scripture in the bible that always makes me so happy and it says that the Spirit that God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us love, power, and self-discipline. It says that God saved us and called us to a holy life - not because of anything that WE have done but because of his own purpose and grace. There’s another one that says that God will not allow you to go through more than what he knows you can bare.
But I’ve realized something.. When you ask God why He is allowing you to go through certain things, look back at that verse because it really answers itself.
Yes, it does say that God won’t allow you to go through more than what you can bare but He ALSO says that you can do ANYTHING through Him who strengthens you. That verse allows you every opportunity to rely, not on our own strength, but on the strength of God. Because with God’s strength, you win every single time.

I love you guys.
Thank you for sticking with me.

(I said these things out of respect to all religions who may be reading this. This is my truth and it’s the truth I live by:) )
