are y’all not ashamed when you post selfies in mirrors that look like they have been nutted on 18,000 times and not cleaned since jesus walked this earth? smh

about something you posted earlier--how do you know God is so... happy if we come to Him? Like it was so moving (I almost started crying in all honesty) but I can't comprehend God would have any positive emotion at all about my coming to him. I feel like I expect the "about time you showed up" response more than anything. Sorry if this message doesn't make sense or is ignorant. Thanks for all you do <3

Don’t be sorry. I know completely what you mean. I’ve had times where I feel like Jesus just tolerates me. But, I need to tell you. He ADORES you. The Bible, God’s-word, God-breathed, God-inspired is full of love letters and stories for us. For you. You.

I want you to read some of these and understand this it’s God, trying to communicate to you. So for a moment, it’s just for you. It’s you and Jesus.

Luke 15:11-32. The Parable of the Lost Son. This child, comes back into his fathers home (into God’s presence) and his dad meets him and wraps his arms around him, kisses him, covers him in fine clothes, puts a ring on his finger and declares that a marvellous feast be held. When you come into God’s presence, He does the same thing. This story is about you. When you come to Jesus, he wraps His arms around you, He kisses you, He dresses you in fine silk and jewellery and He declares a feast be made in your honour. He is so happy to see you.

Zephaniah 3. This is a time in the Bible when Jerusalem was going crazy. It says they were “rebellious and defiled.” And God was sad for a while. He was disappointed and angry at them. But, God’s love is so unwavering, so powerful, so on fire that He could not be angry for long. Verse 17 says “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you; but will rejoice over you with singing.” He delights in you. When He thinks about you, He rejoices with singing. God, the King of all finds Himself singing when you enter His presence. You, dear child.

Matthew 8. Now, back when Jesus was walking upon the face of the earth, having leprosy was pretty much the worst thing anyone could have. People hated you if you had leprosy. Shopkeepers wouldn’t serve you, people would avoid you, mothers would cover their children’s eyes. But Jesus, so full of love and compassion, reaches out His hand and touches this man with leprosy. I can imagine people in the background gasping at the sight. But Jesus just has so much love for His children that this is not a barrier. He loves you this much. When you walk into His presence, no matter what state you’re in, He is willing and He wants to spend time with you.

Matthew 14:22-33. I love this one. So, all the disciples see Jesus walking on the water, and Peter wants to join Him. Jesus calls Peter out and he gets out of the boat to walk on the water with Jesus. But, Peter becomes afraid and begins to sink. Now, what does Jesus do. IMMEDIATELY, He reaches out His hand and catches Him. Then, He goes on to ask why he was afraid. But, I love this because Jesus doesn’t watch Peter start to sink and tell him “just don’t doubt, you’ll be fine.” Jesus doesn’t wait for Peter to drown, learn his lesson and then pull him up and tell him what he did wrong. No. The second that Peter asks for Jesus to save him, Jesus catches him. Straight away. He loves Peter so much. He loves you this much. His heart aches when you are in pain and the second that you ask Him to save you, He IMMEDIATELY reaches out His hand to catch you.

Jesus died for you. Jesus died for you. Jesus DIED for you. An innocent man, who deserved only good things. He watched His friends betray and deny Him. He watched as they declared they did not know Him in front of accusers. He watched a guilty man go free as the public, screaming, decided that He was of less worth than a murderer. He suffered agony by the hands of Romans; from being spat on and having thorns pierce His temples, to having His flesh ripped and shredded until His bones began to glow red. He carried a heavy cross up a hill, collapsing underneath it. He then laid down on that cross and felt the sheer sting of 3 nails skewer His bones to keep Him in place. He was lifted, naked and bloody, on display for all. Friends and family. Even His own mother. For hours He struggled to attain every breath. And then He died. He died. He experienced all that because of His love for you. He went through all of that, because He desperately wants relationship with you. Do you think that He would experience so so much, because He only feels “meh” about you. No way! He went through all of that because he utterly ADORES you. He ADMIRES you. He CHERISHES you. HE DELIGHTS in you. He TREASURES you. He is up and down CRAZY for you. He loves you. So so so so so so much. SO MUCH! Child of God, when you enter His presence, He runs toward you and cheers because He would love to spend some time with You. He died because He finds so much joy in being with you.

He does not tolerate you. He is not an ‘about time you showed up’ kind of God. He’s an ‘I’m so glad you came. I’m overjoyed. I love you so much. I love you so much. I love you so much’ kind of God. And it’s for you. YOU.

I’m tellin yall, if I could go out to a restaurant and have dinner with Jesus, I’d never want to leave. That’d literally be so amazing. I could ask Him anything and talk to Him about literally anything. I’d be even more in awe of Him.

Man, the deciples were so lucky to be able to walk with Jesus like they did here on Earth. Someday I will get to walk with Jesus and spend eternity with Jesus and It’s gonna be so great!! Sure I know Jesus now and can talk to Him now, but in Heaven it’s gonna be so much greater!!!! Who else is excited about Heaven!?

I’m seeing a lot of complaints and cries of “please be good!” when it comes to the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, as if it’s not the movie that people on tumblr have been demanding since before Jesus walked the earth. So we’re about to get a WW movie and now people have trepidation? Now people are going to hold it to a standard just above “solid brick of gold story telling”?

This movie is going to be judged to hell and back by the very same people that begged for it to be made, and these very same people all have One Way they want the story to be told. I mean, y’all already know it’s not going to do what you want it to do, so maybe chill out, watch the trailers again, and go in not expecting anything but Diana and her supporting cast fighting during The War to End All Wars against Ares and his crew.

That’s all there is to it, any further complaints can be directed to the first person who cares, because it sure isn’t me.

Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. – John 1:17

Guard your heart, but yet still, with grace and truth.

Jesus knew the Old Testament. He knew The Law. He knew what was written. He knew the truth. Why? Because He was the truth (John 14:6). And He was also grace.

When Jesus walked this earth He had a way of speaking to people that was both grace and truth. He didn’t hold back from talking about sin or calling out what was wrong…but He didn’t throw stones either. He didn’t turn his back on the unclean, or the tax collectors, or even the people that wanted Him dead…He did the opposite. Even to the death of the cross. He didn’t fight against it. He didn’t call on angels to save Him from the crucifixion. Instead, he bore the weight of a world that was filled with sin even though He had never even sinned himself.

That’s grace and truth. And this is our example even when it comes to the matters of our broken hearts. Even when it comes the people that have hurt us. Even when it comes this world that constantly seems to be challenging a life of righteousness everyday. Even when it comes to people who talk about us behind our backs. Even those that betrays us. Jesus didn’t put up walls to block himself for those that wronged them. He stretched out His arms and still loved them, giving the very worst of sinners access to the Heavenly Father.

So who are we to keep putting up walls? I know, it’s hard. There are some reading this who have endured some unbelievably difficult situations. Some of you had your innocence taken away. Some of you were bullied so much to the point that you thought you’d never be able to trust a friend again. Some of you have had your heart so broken that you’re uncertain if you’re even capable of loving ever again.

Whatever it is, we don’t have to downplay what we’ve gone through or what others have done to us. But we can pray and ask the Lord to heal our hearts and to help us in moving on His way. We can pray and ask the Lord to help us to be more like Jesus everyday…less walls, more love. Continuing to guard our hearts, yet still, with grace and truth. -

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for making Yourself available to us even in this time of history where we are most proud of ourselves. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that in this changing and wasting away period for humanity, You are our constant source of hope, salvation, and repentance. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that in our weaknesses You enable us to repent by Your love that also brings us peace over what we cannot understand or what we cannot do ourselves. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that every shame and sorrow can be lifted up to You and that You grant us mercy with the gift of joy along the way. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that when words are too few from my broken heart or confused mind, You listen and comfort me because all You ask for is our honest surrender. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that even in my pride and limited understanding, You treat me with patience and give me my real needs even before I ask. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for everything You allow to happen while making sure I am Yours and I can always find love in yielding to You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being my redeemer when I can’t stand up for myself esp when words are not what it takes to change people’s mindset. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that while sin is death it has no sting over those who trust in You because You died for us and rose again. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that in our salvation You make sure that every temporal desire will reveal to us the marvelous joy of looking forward to eternity. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for calling us into Your presence and for keeping me close to You in this walk on earth. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for never withholding good even in the times we miss to ask for it or fail to acknowledge Your grace. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for every heartbreak that liberates us and blesses our souls. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for not just second chances, but for the grace of repentance that never leaves us unchanged when we choose You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being You, our greatest need and best gift to ever receive today and forever. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your sacrifice that made way for us to be a part of Your Father’s kingdom. Thank You for every single circumstance, person, place, and Scripture You used/use to bring us to You. Thank You, Lord Jesus. Words will never be enough but You know that we need to learn to be more grateful and every bit of our effort to praise You helps us keep our eyes on You. Thank You, Lord Jesus *hugs*

Thank God – it’s Friday!
Give thanks to the Lord Jesus in prayer :)

Matthew 12:33-37 New International Version (NIV)

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.  A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.  For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

In life, we will encounter a diversity of people, followers of Christ, believers only, unconverted, of little faith, nonbelievers, etcetera. Now, the Word of the Lord warns us that, sometimes things are not necessarily what they look like. As an example; The Pharisees were the religious census in the time that Jesus our Savior walked on earth, yet the Pharisees only carried an “outside religion” and no real relationship with the Creator of the universe, our heavenly Father. The appearance of holiness and purity that the Pharisees presented was only from the outside, and they succeeded in deceiving the majority of the Jewish people into thinking that they were the highest and closest ones to God from, but it was not true.

The Divine Word of God teaches us to as children of the Most High, how we can discern between appearances or reality, with the help of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of Scripture. The Lord teaches us that, the whole human race is like a tree, whose fruits will reveal if our roots are cemented in God, or in the world. “A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit.” It means that if we are in the Lord, our fruit will be sweet and for eternal life. We will not give carnal fruit, because our roots are on the spiritual terrain. But if our fruit, meaning our deeds, are evil, we are not planted in Jesus, and we will reap fruit for the flesh, which its payment is death. In all, everyone that has put their trust in God, they will give fruit for the eternal life of the Holy Spirit of God, that will help him to be a blessing for every person that lies near his shadow. But if our foundation is the world, our fruit will be bitter, for the destruction of our souls, bringing spiritual death and separation from God.

Let’s put our roots in good soil! With God as our divine foundation, our harvest forever will be eternal life!

I want to talk about compassion

The problem is that I don’t yet know what to say.

Compassion is a huge factor in two things I hold dear: Christianity and veganism.  I have grown up in the church and been a Christian for sixteen years, and though I have only been vegan for right about a month, I feel like my capacity for compassion has grown exponentially since then.

However, I am continuously appalled at the lack of compassion that some Christians seem to have for the world around them.  And I don’t say this to talk bad about the church.  (I literally just sat through a sermon about how this is immature of Christians to do, and I agree.)  But it’s something that needs to be addressed.  Jesus Christ was one of the most compassionate beings to ever walk the earth, and as Christians, we are supposed to mirror him.  Why, then, does the pro-life movement, which is traditionally backed by Christians, only apply to a fetus, and not the life that comes from it?  Why is it difficult for some Christians to put money in places other than their church?  Such as, perhaps paying more taxes so that someone else could have a better chance at life.

Again, this is just my musing on my own personal observations of [[[some of]]] the Christian faith.

In relation, one of the arguments that is often posed against veganism is the statement that God gave humans dominion over the earth, so of course we should eat animals and take advantage of all natural resources, renewable or otherwise ????  Right ????

My response to this is to look at the verse Galations 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the laws of Christ” and also 1 Peter 4:10 “ As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

I guess the Galations verse applies more to the healthcare/charitable donations part of my post, but the verse from 1 Peter definitely applies to God giving us dominion over the earth and what that means.

The gift that we have received is the gift of dominion.  How do we use it to serve one another?  By being responsible.  By being good stewards of all that we have dominion over.  Which I think we’re kind of failing at right now.

I might go more in-depth into this later, but this topic has been on my mind for a while, and I just had to write about it.

Anyways, let’s go be good stewards.  Let’s have some compassion for everyone around us, and yes, this includes the poor, the animals, the earth, people from other places, people who speak another language, people who look different than us, people that aren’t the same religion as us, people who claim no religion, and on and on and on.

Get it?

hey dear! I have more of a question than a headcanon but I have no idea who to ask since I don't find many blogs for coderealize and I don't understand japanese. All guys have a historical figure they are based on, but when it comes to Saint Germain all I find is very confusing, even his name! what is his name by the way? I mean, I was suddenly self conscious of calling him... 'Saint'.

Mod S here! Man oh man, this is a great question! And I’d be more than happy to answer, being the lit major I am. ^_^ Get ready for a long post!

So first thing: Van, Lupin, Impey and Victor are all based off of characters from novels, not historical figures. They are all fictional.

Van is based off of the original Abraham Van Helsing from the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, Victor is from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein; that’s pretty basic stuff since their books are so famous.

Now, Lupin and Impey are interesting. Impey is the main character of the novel From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne. Ironically, it’s the same person who wrote 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which is where Nemo is from. Hence why Impey and Nemo are rivals; they’re both the brain children of the same man.

Lupin is a famous gentleman thief from a series of novels and short stories by French author Maurice Leblanc. He’s considered the French counterpart and overall rival to Sherlock Holmes. In fact, Maurice Leblanc wrote a series of short stories in which Holmes and Lupin met. However, the author of the Holmes novels, Arthur Conan Doyle, disliked it. So in the next volume of the series, Leblanc changed his name to Herlock Sholmes.

So Herlock Sholmes alias in C:R is a reference to the original Lupin stories. Also, many characters in anime are tied to Lupin. Most people have heard of Lupin the III, as he’s the grandson of Arsene Lupin. And the author of the Detective Conan series based his characters off of Holmes & Lupin.

Pretty interesting stuff, yeah?!

So to reach the heart of the question: What’s up with Saint Germain?

Saint Germain is the only person who inspired a character who actually existed. But the weird thing about him is that nothing in regards to his origins or his family is really 100% clear. Some people claimed he lived while Jesus walked the earth, but he’s speculated to be the illegitimate son of a Transylvanian prince who supposedly faked his death at the age of four in order to save face. Saint Germain’s age based on historical documentation and the original Count’s claims supports it. But again, nothing is concrete.

He was known by famous authors like Voltaire and political figures like Catherine the Great. At one point, he claimed that he had found the secret to immortality, and many people claimed he was a great violinist, painter, linguist, alchemist, that he was absolutely rich, and that he had ties to secret underground organizations like the Freemasons and even the Illuminati. He’s changed his name so many times that no one is sure what his real name is.

The weirdest thing was that he traveled throughout Europe for about 40 years, and everyone he ever met claimed that he never aged at all. And when he did finally die in 1784 , people claimed to have seen him roaming around. He’s in the official records of the Freemasons as a representative in 1785, and a famous occultist named Helena Blavatsky claimed to have taken a photograph with him in the 1800s. People came forward saying they were Saint Germain all the way up to the late 20th century.

So that’s the reason why Saint Germain has no name in the game and why his character is involved with Idea and that he’s immortal. Because the Count of Saint Germain was the closest figure we have in real life that comes close to being a man-made immortal.

It’s all really fascinating! <3

—————————————- Cheshire here! If the theory that Saint Germain is the illegitimate son of a Transylvanian Prince is true, then that would make his full name Count Leopold George of Saint-Germain. All in all, Saint-G is a fascinating character, both in real life and in the game!

Our Morning Offering – November 24

Lord Jesus, when You walked the earth,
Your humility obscured Your Kingship.
Your meekness confused the arrogant,
Hindering them from grasping Your purpose,
Your nobleness attending to the destitute.
Teach me to model after Your eminence,
To subject my human nature to humility.
Grant me with a natural inclination
To never view myself greater than anyone.
Banish all lingering sparks of self-importance
That could elevate me greater than You.
Let my heart always imitate Your humility!
Amen

january 14th, 2017. i stayed up until 12:30 last night working through the first chapter of my new testament textbook! it’s so interesting seeing how the history i’ve learned about so many times actually took place while Jesus was walking the earth…it’s so amazing.
