…From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding…all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross. - Colossians 1:18-20 (The Message)
My dear sister,
Remember to let Him hold you, as you are:
1. Headed to church tomorrow
As you head to church, remember you are there to worship. Don’t worry about that one guy on the worship team. Don’t worry about who you’re sitting by, who caught your eye, or your wardrobe. Spend time with Jesus. He is the one that holds you together–not your reputation, not the social status, not the guy that might finally ask you at–Jesus. Jesus is the one. Fall in love with Him first and spend your time on that and watch what He begins to do. You will go stronger than you ever would have thought, and it’s all because of Jesus.
2. Waiting for that text
You don’t need to read that one text or see that one notification pop up on your phone tonight in order to feel at ease. I know he might seem like a good guy, and I know your heart might do a little jump when you see his name pop up on your phone, but tonight, I challenge to find that sense of comfort in Jesus. He is everything. Lean into Him tonight
3. Trying to forgive that person for what they’ve done
I know it seems like what he/she did was unforgivable, but let us not remember Jesus forgave us when we didn’t deserve it. I know it’s hard, but you have Jesus to lean on. Turn to Him with your hardened heart and let Him hold you, trusting and believe that God is not going to harm you and there are beautiful things in store for your future. But don’t wait for the future. Turn to Jesus now. He IS what you need tonight.
