An itemized list of things I love about Farmer Refuted
  • This is the song when I realized that every single character’s distinct musical style has been very intentionally crafted.
  • This is also the song when I realized that basically, every half-second of this show has been very intentionally crafted.
  • I love how earnest Samuel Seabury sounds because it’s funnier when he eventually gets wrecked by Hamilton.
  • Seabury singing “screeeeeeeam, revolution!” like he’s constipated.
  • “They have not your interests at heart!” / “Oh my GOD, tear this dude apart.”
  • Burr’s gentle, chiding, “Let him be.”
  • [Burr, my sweet, reticent prince.]
  • Hamilton’s “YO” before he begins ripping Seabury to shreds.
  • “CHAOS AND BLOODSHED” [already haunt us!] “NOT, A SOLUTION” [even talk] “DON’T” [what about Boston? Look at the cost, and all that we’ve lost, and you talk about] “CONGRESS DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ME”.
  • “But strangely your MAYYYYYNGE is the SAAAAAAAME.”
  • Whatever Lin does with his voice when he sings “mange”.
  • “I pray the King shows you his mercy!” / [“Is he in Jersey?!”]
  • Don’t modulate the key then not debate with me.”
