ahh i can finally post this~! i drew this steven universe cover back in february, so at this point i didn’t think they would use it. but it’s cover B for issue 4! it will be out on the 26th of this month!
i had to do quite a few changes for this one, i was originally told to do it in my own style but then CN decided it was too off-model orz i prefer the original, i wonder if i’m allowed to post it…
i also did a garnet themed back-up for this issue, so it matches up well!
Some recent Bee and Puppycat and Bravest Warriors covers.
Just a little heads up that I’ll be at SDCC next week with the BOOM crew signing copies of the first issue of Steven Universe. Come on by and grab a copy if you’re in the area and if you see a doof with a mustache, that’s probably me.
Issue 6 of Steven Universe comes out today, and it has a cover I painted on it! It’s the A cover which means that is should be pretty easy to find! Coleman n’ Jeremy are doing a totally amazing job with this book and I love love love the show and I’m so proud to get to do a cover for it! Yaaa!
At SDCC I got to meet and sit next to Mad, and down the way from Tyson Hesse, Coleman Engle, Jeremy Sorese and Jon Chad! I was a little (A LOT) starstruck! I was very bad at being social but it was still a fun con. Thank you BOOM! Studios for taking care of me. :)
Here are some of the sketch covers I drew for attendees!
Wow, what a weekend. Crazy busy. Learned new things, met new friends and old friends and friends I hadn’t met in person yet, sold some stuff, talked too much. And of course got a crazy amount of haul. BUT NO REGRETS! (I did a fair amount of trading for these things too, thankfully!)
Seriously, meeting people and seeing the work at these things is an incredible experience. Not just networking in a business sense, but engaging in a sort of collective belief that we can all make things to be enjoyed by other people. It’s potent stuff. I’ll be spinning this burst of energy into something cool for the future I hope!
To everyone who stopped by my table or said hello in passing, or gently let me stalk them (sorry guys!) - thanks for the great time! Hope to see you again soon!
