GRASS?!?! Have you seen how cool this stuff is?!? #goat #emeraldnorth #happiness #babygoat #nigeriandwarf

I need to draw @cosmicsynthetics‘ Elpida more often! She’s gorgeous.

Also you absolutely can’t convince me out of the idea that Troll!easter is a dangerous affair where giant bunny monsters leave their subterranean lifestyle to spawn and leave eggs in everyones’ lawn rings that can turn into nasty hungry baby giant bunny monsters.

Also that people wouldn’t get into death fights with them and then eat them. Elpida’s business probably booms around that time, lots of specialty butchering to do!

My girlfriend @jennet-te and I had our one year and a half anniversary yesterday and decided the time had officially come to make our relationship public via social media 💘 WE ARE FINALLY FREE AND I CANT TELL YOU HOW GOOD IT FEELS

After far too must procrastination, Elpida Jennet now has her own talk sprites! I didn’t do them in binary like Malkul’s… buuuuut you know what? I think they turned out nice anyways, and I may redo his in the same style someday.

Yeesh, though. The improvement and/or style change between these and her original ref is pretty obvious. I’ll have to update that too! Kind of exciting. eue

Henry was star-struck by Ferdinand, and it showed in the florid letters he began to send his father-in-law. The latter gruffly told him not to be so wordy, but to show his love in deeds. He also sent horse-mad Henry three magnificent horses – a Spanish jennet, a Sicilian and a Neapolitan – which, according to Catherine, ‘he had asked me to beg your highness for’. If Henry had any doubts about Spanish matters, Ferdinand added, he could always negotiate directly with a personal representative who should be given ‘all faith and credence, as if they were myself’. That representative would be easy to locate. She was his wife, Catherine.

The trials of the Pendle Witches in 1612 are among the most famous witch trials in English history, and some of the best recorded of the 17th century. The twelve accused lived in the area around Pendle Hill in Lancashire, and were charged with the murders of ten people by the use of witchcraft.

Their names were:

  • Elizabeth Southerns, alias Demdike
  • Elizabeth Device daughter of Demdike
  • James Device son of Elizabeth Device
  • Alison Device daughter of Elizabeth Device
  • Anne Whittle alias Chattox
  • Anne Redferne daughter of Chattox
  • Alice Nutter
  • Jane Bulcock
  • John Bulcock son of Jane Bulcock
  • Katherine Hewitt alias Mould-heels
  • Isabel Robey
  • Margaret Pearson.

The accused witches lived in the area around Pendle Hill in Lancashire, a county which, at the end of the 16th century, was regarded by the authorities as a wild and lawless region: an area “fabled for its theft, violence and sexual laxity, where the church was honoured without much understanding of its doctrines by the common people

The Pendle witches were tried in a group that also included the Samlesbury witches, Jane Southworth, Jennet Brierley, and Ellen Brierley, the charges against whom included child murder and cannibalism; Margaret Pearson, the so-called Padiham witch, who was facing her third trial for witchcraft, this time for killing a horse; and Isobel Robey from Windle, accused of using witchcraft to cause sickness.

The first photo is taken from an FFXI source, but judging from the flavor text I noted from FFXIV, I think it’s safe to use as a visual aid for our game as well. They’re all historical descriptions of various types of horses. Descriptions follow. I hope my fellow roleplayers can find a use for this information! I know that for Yvelont in particular, being Ishgardian, his chocobo is an important part of his character.

Rouncey - The term rouncey was used to refer to an ordinary, all-purpose steed. They were used for riding, but could also be trained for war. It was not unknown for them to be used as pack animals.

Destrier - The destrier is the best-known war steed. It carried knights in battles, tournaments, and jousts. It was described by contemporary sources as the Great Horse, due to its significance. While highly prized by knights and men-at-arms, the destrier was not very common. Most knights and mounted men-at-arms rode other war mounts, such as coursers and rounceys. These three types of steed were often referred to generically as chargers.

Courser - A courser is a swift and strong steed, frequently used as a warhorse. It was ridden by knights and men-at-arms. The courser was more common than the destrier, and preferred for hard battle as they were light, fast and strong.

Palfrey - The term ‘palfrey’ usually referred to the most expensive and highly bred types of steed, sometimes equaling the knight’s destrier in price. Consequently, it was popular with nobles, ladies and highly ranked knights for riding, hunting and ceremonial use. The significant characteristic of the palfrey was that, rather than trotting, it usually possessed a smooth, ambling gait.

Jennet - A Jennet was smaller than a palfrey, and was noted for a smooth naturally ambling gait, compact and well-muscled build, and a good disposition.
