JD Roots is Jack Daniel’s music programme that supports local music scenes around the country - the small venues, the local promoters, DJs and record shops that keep music live and kicking. The first of these will be Maximo Park at Newcastle’s Cluny on May 2nd, and another with Miles Kane at Zanzibar in Liverpool on May 15th.
Returning in May for its second year, JD Roots made headlines in 2012 with a trio of intimate homecoming shows involving The Horrors, The Cribs and Twin Atlantic, where Jack Daniel’s teamed up with the people and places in the band’s three respective music scenes in order to celebrate them. Following the success of last year, JD Roots will be back throughout 2013 with a bigger and better year round campaign to underline JD’s commitment to, and belief in, the importance of small venues and local music scenes across the UK.
“Hiatt, I’m trying to help you. There are three options in a situation like this – you can laugh, cry, or go crazy. Crying is always the last thing you want to do. But no one can force you to learn that but you.”
