After her TV directorial debut with Elementary, Lucy Liu is set to move behind the camera for the upcoming third season USA Network’s Graceland, directing an episode that will air on August 27th.

“Graceland is a truly gripping drama series with strong, dynamic characters and a knack for shedding light on the ‘human element’ of some very provocative storylines,” Liu commented. “As a fan of the series since its launch, I am so excited to be a part of this production and direct an episode for season three.”

New information about Amber’s character, Jay Jung, on Entourage say she is a second-generation Korean-American. That means that she was born in America to Korean immigrant parents right? And that she has since moved to Korea? That would make sense to me as the writer’s attempt to explain away her accent and potential difficulty with the language. A little strange to me that they didn’t just make her a Taiwanese character in Korea given the fact that she’s not ethnically Korean, but **shrug**. Their choice, not mine.

Also worth noting that her name choice is interesting. I believe Jay is the original character’s name right? I wonder if it’s a more gender-neutral/masculine nickname for the character or actually her name. I find it hard to believe that’s her character’s birth name, though, since I don’t think that’s a Korean name on its own. Jei-kyung is a Korean female name, so it could be a modified, gender-neutralized version of that.

I’m interested to see how they use her character, because it doesn’t sound like she has a large role but it does sound like her character isn’t happy being stuck as a secretary and wants career advancement.

Liu, Gene Ha, and Jay Fuller!   Stay tuned for announcements of further panelists and our date and time.  Hope to see you there!

My hopes for the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot

1-Make it R-Rated.

Now, I don’t mean to go overboard with non-stop action violence and blood but really MK DESERVES an R.

2-Tweak the origins but keep the basics.

They can do different things with this movie; They can pull an MK 9 and have it be a legit reboot in line with the originals (doubtful) or they can do the storyline of the first game but add/subtract things.

3-Jai Courtney or Gerard Butler as Kano.

Do I even need to explain this?

4-Flesh out the Scorpion/Sub-Zero dynamic.

One of gaming’s all time greatest feuds deserve a proper on-screen iteration.

5-Brutal, realistic fight scenes.

See Hope #1.

6-Techno/Rock soundtrack. The original two movies’ soundtracks were some of the coolest of the 90s so I am almost think the reboot having one is mandatory.
