I’m not overly convinced by this Lexus RX200t. It’s nice inside but the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol means it’s both slow and ridiculously thirsty. 0-62mph takes 9.5 seconds yet I’ve not even averaged 21mpg. Oh dear.
Readers of German performance magazine “Sport Auto” voted Honda’s Civic Type R as ‘Best Import Compact Sports Car’ in the title’s 2017 awards. Over 13,000 voters placed the Civic Type R as best in class during the voting process.
Fresh from setting the FWD lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in April, Honda’s ‘race car for the road’ fended off competition from the Seat Leon SC Cupra 300, Renault Megane GT TCe 205 and the Kia Pro cee’d GT.
It is the second win Honda in the “sport auto” awards with the previous generation, 2015 Civic Type R also claiming ‘Best Import Compact Sports Car’.
