Playlist for my novel, “A Bitter Pill”

I am writing a novel set in 1940s Mississippi, in a fictional town with a majority black population. The following playlist includes the songs I will be listening to while writing the book. 

Many of these songs were not released in the 1940s. Songs in bold particularly inspire the novel, due either to their lyrics or overall tone. All the below are some of my favourite songs.
