The path of Gnosis isn’t about going on an archaeological dig for books of the dead, looking to antiquity for inspiration and guidance. There is a Living Gnosis Now, a contemporary Path of the Masters. Living Ones are with us now in the world composing their own scriptures, initiating souls into the Mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, into meditation practice of Inner Light and Sound, the ascension of the soul – as a Living branch of the mystical Tree of Life.
friendly reminder that harry couldn’t remember ever having received any parental physical affection until he was almost fifteen (◡‿◡✿)
said contact came from his friend’s mother because his parents were dead and his guardians alternated between physically and emotionally abusing and him ignoring his existence completely (◡‿◡✿)
the reason for said hug was because he had just been tortured by the man who killed his parents in front of a crowd of cheering adults and forced to watch his friend die (◡‿◡✿)
he was forced to immediately recount several times what had happened to adults before he had time to process it (◡‿◡✿)
the first person he told his story to was a teacher who was one of the few adults he trusted and who shortly thereafter tried to kill him because he never cared about harry at all and was only emotionally manipulating him (◡‿◡✿)
harry was then told he was a mentally unstable liar who was making all of this up for attention by more adults in authority (◡‿◡✿)
so his friend’s mother tried to cheer him up by reminding of the money he had now won because his friend died (◡‿◡✿)
at which point he burst into tears in front of all of his friends (◡‿◡✿)
harry was saved in the graveyard by the connection his wand had with voldemort’s, it’s true. but he was also saved by his own courage and resilient spirit. if harry had not been determined to fight till the end, to cast a seemingly hopeless spell with his last breathe, there would have been no collision, no priori incantatem.
harry was scared, alone, and nearly tortured to death. he was fourteen and had watched his friend die right before his eyes. a crowd of onlookers jeered at him as he was faced with the most powerful dark wizard ever who wanted not only to kill him but to utterly humiliate him.. absolutely no one could blame him if he just froze up or broke down then and there.
but harry didn’t give up. he chose to go down on his own terms and face death straight-backed and proud, like his father. and that bravery and sheer force of will that made him decide to go down fighting ended up being the very thing that saved his life.
