jacob imprinting on renesmee

reasons why seth should have imprinted on renesmee instead of jake:
1. jacob was head over heels for bella and they literally kissed
2. jacob never got to get over bella
3. jacob didn’t want anything to do with the supernatural life, so forcing a half human/ half vampire hybrid on him is just cruel??
4. he absolutely hated vampires lmao
5. he loathed the idea of imprinting
6. seth liked the cullens and was actually quite friendly with them
7. it would have been way more natural and would have fit into the plot better bye

Summary: After Jacob imprints on Renesmee, his long-term girlfriend makes a discovery about herself.

For once, it was a sunny day in Forks. Really sunny, not weak sunlight straggling past clouds. You were supposed to be at home studying, but you couldn’t pass up a day like this. Especially not after your boyfriend turned up at your house at half past ten and told you that he was taking you to the beach.

Jacob ran his fingers through your hair gently as you lay in his lap. With everything that had been going on with the Cullens recently, it felt like the two of you hadn’t been spending enough time together. You didn’t resent him for it. You knew that he wanted you safe more than anything else.

But you had missed him like crazy.

Today, though, Seth and Leah were taking care of watching the Cullens so that he could be with you. Having a day like this one, when you could do nothing but lie on the beach and tease each other and kiss, reminded you exactly why you’d fallen in love with him in the first place. Werewolf or not (and you’d been pretty freaked when you heard about that one), days like this assured you of just how much he loved you.

with jacob and renesmee imprints and bella and jacob being so close, how strict do you think the treaty rules are now? Perhaps they have time limits for how long a cullen can spend in the wolves territory...

In the movie commentary, Bill Condon talks about how because of Renesmee they can all be together in La Push now, and that’s the flash-forward vision Alice sees, but it only includes Bella and Edward, not the other Cullens, so we don’t have any real sense if they are allowed there now or not.

Carlisle (and in the book, Edward), had been permitted to La Push before, in Eclipse, to treat Jacob’s injuries, so there is some precedent to make exceptions.

I’d imagine that Renesmee and probably Bella (because the rules don’t ever really apply to Bella anyway lol) can come and go freely. The others probably have to get permission or be invited, which amuses the wolves (and probably Emmett) because of the vampire myths about not being able to enter a place without an invite.

They specifically say in the book the treaty is in place, which implies there are still some rules? I mean if they’re really just one big happy family throw out the treaty, you don’t need it, right? Bella says Sam and Carlisle talk and “renewed” the treaty, but “the friendly feeling of the relationship might never be the same.” Whatever that is supposed to mean? They weren’t exactly a lot of friendly feelings between the wolves and the Cullens even before the BD drama.

I think the fact that Jacob imprints on (and let’s face it, eventually falls in love with) Renesmee doesn’t bug me because it all ties up everything far too neatly. It doesn’t bug me that the hatred between Edward and Jacob that has built for 3.5 novels is suddenly gone.

It bugs me because falling in love with an immortal literally goes against EVERYTHING Jacob stands for. He’d have to keep morphing forever to stay in her life. Jacob has made it clear before that he hates the idea of immortality and eventually he’ll stop morphing and grow old. That can’t happen if the person he’s in love with is an immortal. Jacob is a shape shifter, yes, but SUCH a big deal is made of the fact that ultimately HE IS HUMAN. Can we also comment on the fact that Jacob despises the idea of imprinting. He despises the idea of so tightly belonging to someone else. Imprinting is a rarity. I’m very disinclined to believe that so many of them would imprint, and what’s more, someone who was so set against it would.

And you know what makes the whole thing about that even more irritating? The fact that just before Renesmee was born, LEAH TOTALLY GOT IT. She understood Jacob and his reasoning behind things. She understood and AGREED with his ideas of immortality, of imprinting. She understood his pain of seeing the one you love fall in love with someone else. There was some serious bonding going on there. Leah was perfect for Jacob and had so much character development potential. Yet once Renesmee was born, Leah as good as vanished. The woman who actually UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED with Jacob was disregarded for a child who, innocent as she may be, literally makes everything Jacob stands for go to ash.

THAT’S what maddens me. Stephanie Meyer had a great idea with Twilight and I love it - but it’s as though everything had to fit into Bella and Edward’s little family to be a part of the story. And I believe that Jacob was to be a part of their family really, he was always going to be there for Bella; but putting him with Renesmee was just wrong in every conceivable way GAH.

Not Human But Loved - Elijah Mikaelson

Prompt: It didn’t matter that he wasn’t human, I loved him.

It had been a while since Alaric daggered Elijah for Damon, and I still could shake Elijah or the image of his daggered body from my mind. It plagued my dreams at night and passed my thoughts at the bare mention of anything to do with him like the Martin Witches or Klaus.

Elena is my sister and I couldn’t escape that genetic fact but I just felt a pull towards Elijah that I couldn’t shake like it was his soul that tethered me to the earth’s gravity. The only way I can explain it was how imprinting was explained in Twilight: Breaking Dawn by Jacob Black about Renesmee Cullen.

Last night was the 60’s decade dance and that it where we found out that Klaus had possessed Alaric to spy on Elena and find out more about her while getting rid of Bonnie.

I walked down the wooden stairs of the Salvatore Boarding House after talking to Stefan about how he is going to keep my sister safe when I heard heavy breathing from the front door. I walked to the front door to find Elena handing over a dagger to Elijah while I stood their mouth slacked and speechless, I then did the unthinkable. I ran to Elijah and hugged him and in that minute I realised that it didn’t matter that he wasn’t human, I loved him.

If Edward hadn't come back in NM do you think Bella would have eventually ended up with Jacob?

I think they definitely would have dated. Whether or not they would have ended up together, IDK. Jacob’s only like, what, sixteen? Younger than Bella, anyway. Most people don’t end up with their high school sweethearts forever–although of course some do! I think dating would probably led to a lot of growth for both of them, but whether they grew in parallel directions or grew apart, it’s hard to say.

I think SM would say they would end up together. That Jacob and Bella just *got* each other, and were ‘soul mates” in a world without magic and monsters.

I don’t think Jacob would ever imprint, because Renesmee would never exist. He wouldn’t imprint on his own children because Renesmee is half Bella, and half Edward, so without Edward in the picture she’d never exist, and Jacob would never imprint. But of course Jacob and Bella wouldn’t know that, so the worry that he might imprint someday might strain their relationship.

(Garrett x Reader)

based on this imagine

Request:  Can you write a part 2 to the Imagine where Sam comforted you but this time you go to visit Renesmee to see who exactly Jacob imprinted on but then you meet Garrett and you imprint on him, which incidentally kinda ticks Jacob off?

You didn’t really know why exactly you went over to the Cullens. Call it jealousy or just curiosity, you weren’t sure yourself. You just had the urge to see who Jacob had imprinted on.

You sneaked around the house for a bit until you saw them together. Renesmee was already older than she should be, not growing up as slow as a normal human would. You had to admit, it was cute seeing them together and it hadn’t really been Jacobs choice to make. You figured being mad at him forever didn’t solve anything. You decided to just forgive him and move on even if it would be hard.

“I thought something smelled funny.” You snap your head around, looking at a vampire you hadn’t seen before. The Volturi had left but some of the vampires who had travelled here were still around. You figured he was one of them and friends with the Cullens so you refrained yourself from attacking him.

You were about to reply with a snarky comment when you locked eyes with him. You suddenly felt warm and fuzzy inside, your whole world spinning the only thing you could concentrate on was the stranger in front of you. When the intense feeling slowly subsided your eyes grew wide and you shook your head.

“What the hell just happened?” You hear Jacob saying in a pissed of voice, “Did you just imprint on Garrett?” He came over grabbing your arms and shook you lightly.

“Oh?” You heard Garrett asking in an amused tone.

“Are you out of your mind?” Jacob asks furiously.

“Me? Well that is cheap coming from you. Your imprint isn’t exactly the poster girl for normal either.” You snap back at him.

“I couldn’t decide on that.” He tells you defensively.

“Oh but I could? I must have missed something.” You cross your arms and glare angrily at him.

Bella came outside, hearing the argument that was going on between the two of you, “What’s happening?” She asks Garrett, standing beside him.

“They’re just arguing who has the worst imprint. I would say she lost.” He points at you and smirks at Bella.

“Who’s her imprint?”

Garrett claps his hands together and looks at Bella, “Alright I think it’s time to get them away from each other.”

You and Jacob were still bickering when you felt a hand on your arm and Garrett began to drag you away while Bella did the same to Jacob.

“Let go of me!”

“I could but you don’t really want that, right?” He has a sly smile on his face and waits for a reaction from you. You just glare at him and stop moving when you’re far away enough from the others.

“This is going to suck so much.”

“Spare me your jokes.” You hiss.

“Don’t be like that I always wanted a pet.”

“I’m not your pet! God this has to be some huge misunderstanding.”

“I’m joking okay? I’m really interested, tell me about yourself.” He sits down and leans on a tree, gesturing for you to sit down next to him. You sigh but give in and sit down. You might as well try, right?

this is more of a fun question - if YOU could rewrite BD, roughly how would the plot go?

No baby, no before and after cars, no cottage, no skipping the newborn phase, and Bella would have to break off ties to Charlie.

As for a plot, I have a couple different ideas.  One would be just focusing on Bella getting used to being a vampire and actually having to deal with the consequences thereof.  Maybe the Cullens disappear and Charlie’s a basketcase worried about his daughter, so Billy Black caves and tells him everything.  Bella comes back to give Charlie a proper goodbye and barely manages not to kill him, but her thirst was stretched to the limit and after leaving Charlie’s house she kills the first human whose scent she catches, who probably should be Mike or Jess or Angela for maximum impact and to make the humans actually relevant to the plot.

If we wanted to do something with the Volturi, there are a couple different angles we could take, none of which require the baby that Bella didn’t even want.  My current favorite idea, which was used a bit in Cygnus Rising, would be to use their alliance with the werewolves against them.  Like the Volturi would CARE that they aren’t ‘technically’ werewolves.  They are still creatures capable of killing vampires and thus a threat, right?  The Cullens could abandon the wolves and save their own sparkly skin, or stand with them against the Volturi who are out to destroy them.  They’d know about them and the Treaty from Aro reading Alice and Edward’s minds in Volterra in New Moon. The Cullens choosing to stand with them without the magic of Jacob imprinting on Renesmee would be pretty amazing and something I’d love to see.  And it’s not unreasonable—Carlisle could have thrown the wolves under the bus in Eclipse (The Denali would have helped them against Victoria’s newborns if he stepped aside and allowed Irina to kill the wolves in revenge for Laurent), but he didn’t.

Other options would be the fact that the Cullens associate to closely with humans in general—Rosalie and Carlisle are still using their real names, after all!  Maybe Aro decides the whole vegetarian experiment has gone on long enough and wants to put an end to it.  Or they could use Charlie as an excuse if he was in fact clued in by Billy or Bella or whoever.

Bella could still have her shield and save the day, and I’m even okay with the anti-climactic non-fight as long as it were set up as a trial/confrontation rather than a battle like in the book.  When you set up for a battle, you better deliver a battle.  If you set up for a trial, then no one is expecting death and carnage and the ‘mental chess’ thing works better, IMO.

I’d want an epilogue where Bella comes back to Forks many years later to check on Charlie, who has since married Sue and is happy.  She then checks on Jacob who has stopped phasing and married a nice, normal girl and has a couple of kids.  Edward asks her if she has any regrets and she turns to him and says “nope, none” and they run off into their somewhat bittersweet and not quite perfect piece of forever together.
