On 28th December 1888, the corpse of 8-year-old Bradford, England resident John Gill was discovered badly mutilated. Not only had his throat been cut, but his arms and legs had been hacked off, his abdomen had been cut open and stabbed and his ears had been removed.
Newspapers speculated that Jack the Ripper had struck again but medical experts found no connection between the murders. Later, a man named William Barrett was soon arrested but found not guilty, which left the question of who really killed little John Gill and why had they done so in such a gruesome fashion?
Unfortunately, with 128 years having passed since the horrific murder of John, it’s extremely unlikely that we’ll ever know the answer.
