Broken-hearted: burdened with great sorrow, grief, or disappointment.
A broken-hearted person has a constant pain and discomfort inside him that he struggles with all day. He feels lost easily, he can’t concentrate and focus on the things he does because most of the time he is distracted with all the “what if” and “why” questions stuffed in his mind. This feeling, we don’t understand and we can’t fully comprehend until we experience it.
Psalm 34:18 - The LORD is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
My brothers and sisters, does this verse remind you of our Lord’s compassion? As much as He feels and comprehends your pain, He wanna bring you to restoration.
There are times we want certain types of answers and certain types of healing, and there are moments we question God everyday why we suffer more than other people? Why He lets things happen? Does He actually love you that much?
But aren’t we living our lives for God? Aren’t we living to glory His name? Aren’t we on earth for a cause and purpose?
We are not going through our struggles alone. We are going through our struggles with God. He gives the greatest battles to the strongest warriors. He knows our ability and capacity better than we know ourselves.
Don’t look down, don’t look around but look up, look to God. Be honest with Him, let Him come and remind you of His promises for you. Pray for strength, for endurance and for your faith to be strengthened through hardships.
We might not understand why things happen but we believe in a great and mighty God who has a plan for our future and gives us a hope for a brighter tomorrow :)
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The person who gets drunk on wine chooses to allow the alcohol to take control of him. When a person is drunk, he can’t walk properly, his balance is weakened, he has lower inhibitions and he is unable to reason logically, etc.
But the person that is filled with the Spirit chooses to allow the spirit to take the leading role in his life, he lets God be the controlling factor in everything he does and he produces spiritual fruit.
When a person is living a spirit-led life, he acts humble, he finds joy and peace of the Lord and give thanks for all the things that he does. So friends, the question today is: Do you or do you not wanna be filled with the Spirit?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
