Hey guys, have we cried over episode 9 of Yuri on Ice enough yet?
I think not!
Let’s talk about that airport scene (my precious, beloved airport scene).
It’s beautiful and tear-jerking on its own.
But how about we remember that Yuuri said that he will retire after this year’s Grand Prix Final?
Let’s look at that scene from that angle.
What he’s saying here is basically “Please stay with me, please take care of me for these last few weeks before everything is over.”
And this line, this line especially sounds melancholic. As though Victor is saying “I wish I could stay with you longer but we both know that we can only stay together until the Grand Prix Final. I wish we had more time. If only this didn’t have to end so soon…”
And Yuuri knows that’s exactly what he means. He wishes it would be a promise that they’ll stay together forever, but really, it’s only a reminder that what they have is temporary, that even though they wish it would last longer, it won’t. That everything between them will end, and will end soon.
It’s no wonder there are tears in his eyes.
And of course, we can imagine that Yuuri’s plans can change, that he will compete again next year, or that Victor will stay by his side not as his coach, but as something more.
But they don’t know that yet.
They’re clinging to each other for dear life because, for all they know, this is all the time they’re going to get.
You know what, Booth and Brennan will always be my #1 otp because they gave me so much as a couple. I mean, I’m not talking about sex or smut because that’s fanfiction material (like you go girl, want to see your fave ship bang on a piano? go and read that !!!! that’s what that website is for) but everything else. The ‘platonic’ aspect of their relationship has always been the best part of their dynamic to me, but they were still able to overcome that phase and be a family. This being said, that original dynamic has never been compromized, not to me at least, because when it comes to the important stuff, Booth and Brennan are still partners first, they are still the people they would give up their life for, they would fight for each other. While the majority of other ships kinda change once they get together. Booth and Brennan never completely changed, so much that people complain because they’d rather have them being romantic the 100% of the time. I don’t. Also, it’s the little things that matter to me, like it might sound stupid, but I find it extremely adorable and precious that Brennan knows Booth by knowing his injuries. Every time something happens, she’s able to compare factures and other stuff to Booth’s. And that’s so IC, that’s something I really want to see because it’s them. And it’s been this way since she first found out about his past in 1x15 and it never changed. She imagined him on that autopsy table in 11x01 by looking at the bones, just like it happened on 12x04 with Aldo and in other many occasions. Brennan saying like I know that because of your brain tumor. She knows his brain scans. YAAAS. Give me this stuff. Give me Booth and Brennan that can’t sleep without each other at night when one of them is struggling with something, give me them talking about taking someone’s life and carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. Give me them hurting each other to save each other. They would never cheat on each other or hurt each other because they want to. They only do it because it’s the only way. Yaas. Screw sex, just give me this stuff.
first and last panels/scenes together (not including prologue kk)
(ahhh i cant believe its over, really. when I think about this manhwa i feel nostalgic and bittersweet bc its over, even tho it only began and ended recently!
as soon as i read the last chapter I pulled up these two images side by side and its just so incredible!! look at how they started, and what their relationship became, endured, and grew into!!! also take a look at the development in BBong’s lovely art!!
anyways, I like to imagine that these boys live a warm and golden life together, always supporting each other, full of love!!!!)
Ok so i know its been a few weeks since haikyuu season three ended but ive been thinking a lot recently about what Tendou says in the last episode and i dont browse the Haikyuu tag enough to know if anyones talked about it yet so if not im here to talk about it. So in the final episode of season three after Shiratorizawa loses, we get a scene with Tendou saying the following: “Farewell, my paradise” as seen in the photo below.
So when i first heard him say this, of course, being the Tendou fanatic i am, i did get a little emotional. I thought he was talking about all the straight wins that he acquired while attending Shiratorizawa. But this scene truly got me thinking, “why is it so bad that he lost before going to Nationals, when he has gone the past two years?”, then i realized, he isn’t talking about losing, he’s talking about the safe haven he found at Shiratorizawa, or more specifically, the Shiratorizawa team. In a previous episode we gathered insight and flashbacks of Tendou’s childhood days playing volleyball. When he was just starting out playing volleyball, no one wanted to play with him because he was the weird kid, or a “monster” as they said in one of these flashbacks.
They even go as far as to say he looks like one. For what reason they believe that, i have no clue. I mean, hell, the kid on the right looks like something straight out of a toilet wand commercial but whatever. They leave Tendou alone and exclude them from playing simply because they dont like him. Later in this episode we get to witness a scene where Tendou finally gets to play with the other kids and he wins a point against them. Now going back to the second season for a second, we get to see Tsukki talking to Bokuto and Kuroo about how he has never truly experienced a moment where he loved volleyball. Bokuto then tells Tsukki, “it’s a matter of whether ‘that moment’ exists for you or not…If you experience that moment,…”
“…it’ll really get you hooked on volleyball.” In this scene, Tendou truly experiences his blooming love for volleyball, and doesn’t let anyone let him not play and he decides to do his own thing. So, great. He’s gained his love for volleyball and continues playing throughout elementary school despite being bullied by the other kids trying to exclude him. That’s great, but then comes middle school. In middle school, he experiences what it’s like having a coach telling him how to play, instead of coming up with his own play style, saying:
Though this is how he plays and how he feels comfortable playing, he gets scolded for doing it and for playing how he wants. Even though Tendou is later quoted saying “but I’ve scored a lot of points on just my hunch”, his coach continually berates him, saying:
Though this in and of itself is correct, do you really think Tendou cares personally? If he truly cared whether or not he won, wouldn’t you think he would follow his coaches advice? We saw before that he only started playing because he felt good while playing, he felt good when he was able to score a point. That right there doesn’t bother him. He just wants to play volleyball where volleyball is more enjoyable instead of stressful(though throughout season three he was always striving to win more points to win and even playing against the opposing team emotionally). Add another obstacle onto Tendou’s list, a controlling coach. Boom, done. After Tendou walks away, he head towards what looks like a storage closet in the gym, where he overhears his fellow teammates talking about him, saying the following:
Once again, he’s being judged for something that is just a part of him, his personality. He has already experienced this one time before, when he first started volleyball. Tendou, after overhearing the conversation, then walks away, presumably to get away from people who are talking bad about him behind his back. Tendou throughout his volleyball career has had to deal with unhelpful teammates, a coach that tries to control how he plays, and teammates that try excluding him from any club activity. Tendou just deserves a hug can we make a protect Tendou squad? I just love him so much. #ProtectTendou2k17. Anyways back to the subject at hand. After finishing middle school, he then has to choose the high school he wishes to attend. Like most other Japanese students, he probably did some research according to the things he wants to do in future life and, of course, according to his club activities. Assuming Shiratorizawa was already a major powerhouse school before Ushijima went there(i believe it was) Tendou decided to go there not only for his studies but also to pursue volleyball further. When he goes to meet the coach of the volleyball team at Shiratorizawa, he says that he “just want[s] to play volleyball that makes [him] feel good”. I wish i screencaped him saying that but i didn’t unfortunately so you have to deal with me quoting him. After he expresses his feelings about the matter he shows this expression:
This is the expression of someone who has gradually lost their love for something this is a very solemn expression. He feels somewhat embarrassed that he has to express what he wants in such a plain manner to the coach. The person in charge of exposing the teams true potential in matches. He tells this to the coach specifically because he’s already gone through not being able to play the way he wants and having to conform to the ways the coach wants him to. If the coach at Shiratorizawa doesn’t allow him to play how he wants, Tendou most likely would’ve quit volleyball, considering the way he looks and how desperate he acts towards the coach about this matter. You can even tell the difference between how he acts in front of this coach than he did with his old middle school coach. He talked back to his middle school one but over time he gradually caved inward on himself and no longer is the free spirit he once was, all because of how he was treated during his volleyball years. But then the coach responded to him(and i wish i had screencapped this too ughh), “I don’t care, as long as you’re able to win” (more or less).
Can’t you just feel his expression and mood lift? He finally gets to play volleyball the way he desires, the way he loves to play, and on a team where he feels needed. And that’s exactly what happens. Over the course of his next three years at school, he finally gets to play a version of volleyball he loves, a version of volleyball where he always has the upper hand and it’s just overall so beautiful. Then the game against Karasuno happens, and Shiratorizawa loses. As we see in the manga and also in the anime i believe, Tendou says he isn’t going to continue playing volleyball. When he says “farewell, my paradise”, he isnt just referring to their constant win streak. He’s talking about the paradise he found in the Shiratorizawa volleyball team, a paradise where he can play how he wants, a paradise where he’s included in the matches, a paradise that didn’t and couldn’t last forever, and this makes me upset. Tendou is such a complex character and he deserves a lot more love than he gets. I’m not going to be re reading this through so f there are any spelling mistakes i apologize. And remember, #ProtectTendou2k17. Thank you for reading!
What do you admire most about Laura and Carmilla’s relationship? “You can see it in the last scene between us, I think there’s still so much love between the two ladies. I think after everything that they’ve been through this semester, they’re still so deeply in love with each other…”
i love this scene so much. from how we see monty be the one who actually reminds everyone else in the room that they have the “element of surprise” thanks to octavia (and basically sides with clarke), to how the last shot is filmed, because everyone is looking at him, and we get to witness it. it’s such a good monty-focus scene, one that highlights his intelligence in ways that simply blow you away, because he is thinking the entire dilemma through, and is in for some extraordinary team work. what i love about the last two shots is a) how monty is the center character (he isn’t wildly commanding the room, but stating facts because he’s had his fair share of experiences, and reaches the people) and b) the contrast established between pike and monty since there is a clear difference in how the audience perceived pike’s violent actions in season 3, and how monty citing pike actually contrasts pike’s and monty’s intentions.
the camera doesn’t show other people’s reactions to us from up close after harper goes “you’re citing pike?” and monty says “as awful as that sounds, yes”, except for clarke’s, which is so interesting because when pike came up with plans we usually got close-ups of bellamy, monty or even kane being all worried and stuff because they knew shit was gonna go down. or better yet, we knew.
when monty goes “as awful as that sounds, yes” though, we only get another shot of clarke before the scene cuts to black, because the audience is put into a “let’s do this” mindset through her since he doesn’t plan on doing the same thing as pike. what actually happens is that he is just trying to make the group aware that they can be tactful in this situation since they are a step ahead of the ice nation. his goal is not to start a war; he wants to stop one. he is not, you know, drifting into pike’s mindset, but trying his Best and i love him so much.
Ok so I had a request to do a little meta on something and this might be a smaller version of a bigger one i’m gonna do. But I wanted to look at Daryl’s flashback in the lineup, which is in canon btw and the significance of the scenes chosen so lets got..
(gif by @oohhshiny)
This is an interesting look inside this theory about the flashbacks that’s gaining a little traction for me as well. Especially when you get further into the season and see the scenes and the story arcs develop. So take a look at Daryls here for a moment.
It hightlights his story this season so far as well as making interesting points about what he remembers, in canon, on what may be his last moments. Because these are Daryl’s memories here. Rick was not present for all of these.
So we the ‘your my brother’ scene with Rick, and the scene of them goofing off in the car here. Highlighting the bond between them. Its sort of forshadow of his reunion with Rick in ‘Heart Still Beating’. One of those scenes involved Rick telling him that its’ ‘not on him’ before calling him his brother and this is a very significant moment to Daryl. The hug they later share sort of reflects this moment in reinforcing this for Daryl when it comes to Rick.
The memory of the scene with Maggie (which also shows up in her flashback I might add) is definiatly a direct foreshadow of an upcoming scene with him and Maggie in which they discuss Glenn and his guilt over it. Part of the arc for Daryl this year is his guilt over this, and the scene is forshadowed as being necessary to both characters as a catharsis and a way of moving forward for both of them (cause like I said, its in hers too). Theres a reason Daryl remembers this scene.
Now the Caryl moments, which have been often discussed. The very distinct possibility that the showing of the reunion hug from ‘No Sancturary’ not only shows the importance of that moment for Daryl, and his feelings for Carol but forshadows the reunion in ‘New Best Friend’ that we saw as well. See what. I’m getting at here?
The intriguing inclusion in this flashback is the one of the bus scene from ‘Seed’. Its intriguing for 2 reasons. 1) It’s significance to Daryl, cause it was included in his canon memories. Its obviously important to him at that moment, and I and others have said, it might have been the first moment he looked at her a bit differently. Not just as a friend in others. It has importance to him. 2) It was put in canon by the showrunners and a corresponding moment has not been aired yet that reflects this one. It was put in there, I think as a possible reminder to the audience, but why that scene and not the ones in the trailer?
I have stated it was, at least for me, one of the first moments that I considered to be turning of the possible nature of their relationship from mere friendship to possibly something more. I think a lot of us have said that too. It’s very important in the history of the ship.
So ask again for anyone to ponder, why is it included in Daryl’s canon flashbacks at that moment he thought he would die if there wasn’t an importance reason why?
god i love brotherhood hate so much tbh fuck brotherhood (sorry if you like brotherhood but fuck brotherhood)
listen basically that long post i just reblogged brought up my biggest beef with brotherhood and manga (tho ive never read manga and have heard its better with characters) is that it ignores its characters
i like good plots and i get bored when something doesnt have a plot and is ONLY characters. but whats even worse to me is when its ONLY plot. the characters and plot should drive each other and the characters should be affected by the plot
FUCKING BROTHERHOOD doesnt let its characters recover from trauma and shit
i remember reading ed didnt cry until the last episode and i was like “wtf i remember him having some awesome crying scenes” and then i realized i was remembering 2003, which has BEAUTIFUL and realistic character development and thats when i got super pissed
AND FUCKING AL you know when marta is killed in his armor in 2003 its so fucking horrific and then you have the same thing in brotherhood and youre like “oh no how is al going to feel after this poor thing” and he JUST BRUSHES IT OFF? and later he goes on this rant of “im sick of watching people die” and it just pisses me off like im sorry, al, i didnt even realize those deaths affected you but if you wanna bring them up to motivate yourself to become stronger then sure do that even though its total bullshit
AND NINA! i know nina IS brought up a few times in brotherhood, but every time im loterally like “oh yeah that happened.” And i dont feel anything. When ed says at the end how he couldnt even save a little girl, despite how epic the scene is, i was kinda pissed because it felt like such a cheap thing to mention since i didnt see ed or al actually affected by nina. just feeling sad for her every once in while isnt being affected by it. Being affected by it is when the experience permanently leaves an impact
you get that in 2003. every thing that happens to the brothers permanently affects their growth, rather than it all being episodic events that add to their male protag angst (“what doesnt kill me makes me stronger lol what emotions? What trauma? I use it to fuel my righteous fury hiyah!”), every thing pushes them slightly further to who they end up at the end of the series
i can and have gone on and on on how much brotherhood characters piss me off because they all came out of the series almost the same as they went in, learning concrete lessons but not actually changing psychologically/realistically nor GROWING, and how every character got what they originally wanted in the way they wanted it. and imo, thats BAD character writing. It works sometimes based on the story, but with something like fma with these goal-driven characters who face challenges and trauma im order to get what they want, they SHOULDNT ultimately get what they want. And if they do get what they want, it should be either that they dont need it, they dont want it anymore, or they get it in a more bittersweet/twisted way (like roy couldve gotten what he wanted without getting his eyesight back and becoming fuhrer. He would lose the more surface goal, but he could still achieve the more abstract underlying motive of fixing the country.)
Once, when his uncles asked him what gift he wanted for his nameday, he begged them for a dragon. “It wouldn’t need to be a big one. It could be little, like I am.” His uncle Gerion thought that was the funniest thing he had ever heard, but his uncle Tygett said, “The last dragon died a century ago, lad.” That had seemed so monstrously unfair that the boy had cried himself to sleep that night.
All I want in the series finale of TVD is to see my babies Stefan and Elena get the best ending possible. This show has done them so wrong. They were the couple in this show that best represented what being in love truly meant and what the made the show have that magic. When they took them away, the magic of the show went away but I need to know that they have a good ending.
They both deserved so much more than what they got. Stefan deserved to be happy with the one girl who made him smile, that was his light. Elena deserved to be with the man who made her always strive to be the absolute best version of herself. Am I naive to think after all these tragic seasons they’d just put Stelena back together? No, i’m not getting my hopes that far up. However, its going to be at the back of my mind. Stefan is finally human, and with Elena back especially after their last scene together i definitely have some hope.
I also have hope they send Damon to the fiery pits of hell with a stake in every place on his body but hey i’ll take what I can get. I’m happy TVD is finally ending, but its a bittersweet feeling. I lived for this show a long time ago and with the way its gone i’m happy its ending, but sad at the same time because it could’ve been so amazing.
Anyways, the point is TVD don’t fuck up my babies reunion. They’ve been through too much already, just give me their magic one last time.
People are complaining about the new guy character in this episode. Andrew Hanbridge is just a confuse guy on magic who had the initial thought that magic is useless. However going on a mini adventure with Akko he is expose to it more in depth and appears to have some interest. In addition it could have been his dad that implanted the view on “magic is useless” as on the last scene he tells Andrew that. In addition if you are hating him for the sole reason of shipping, grow up please. Don’t allow a ship to create hatred for a character, its immature and makes fandoms look bad. Take a look at fandoms like Naruto when they bash a character so much simply for shipping pleasure. I won’t name what character, but if you know Naruto, I’m sure you do. Give Andrew some time because one episode is too early to judge . Thank very much for reading and please not just for Andrew, but be a respectable person in this fandom to ensure that its a welcoming one :)
P.S: Andrew Hanbridge is my son and I will protect him :)
Okay so your klance tangled au has broken me I'm a sucker for Disney aus and this has taken the cake along with my heart I have so many questions? Does lance go by Flynn rider until he admits that his real name is lance mcclain??? What about that drowinging in the cave scene when Keith sings but the cave is full of water so it wouldn't catch fire?? Would it still glow?? What about after Keith gets his hair cut how do they reclaim the kingdom oh god your animatic ruined me thank you bless :')
I’m glad you enjoyed it ^^
I personally think Lance would go by McClain since it’s not confirmed that its his last name in VLD. I’m still thinking about how the drowning in the cave scene would go. It may have to be a completely different trapped scene I guess? The kingdom would probably be reclaimed by the reappearance of Allura and Shiro who be rescued by the rebels around the same time as Keith’s hair getting cut.
Some of the ideas of the au is still not thought throughout so feel free to make your own interpretations guys ^^
its about 4:00am over here, i missed a couple updates but a friend sent them to me. anyway, last night, i posted about the haruhi website being down, and the error message contained the words “what is it? a cold?” and no picture.
it then changed to the words “how come you are here” with a photo of kyon and asakura, from the scene where she enters the classroom in disappearance
this is how it was when i went to sleep last night. however, apparently the past few hours it has changed twice.
the first is to this picture of kyon’s back and yuki, also from disappearance with the caption “if it is okay”
if you click on the words, it brings you to this file
the literary club application!
i don’t know when the next change happened, but the website now shows a picture of disappearance yuki handing kyon the club application form. if you click the text it still brings you to the image of the form
this is the same picture used when “the disappearance of nagato-yuki chan” was announced.
i’m so so so excited for whatever this new content is! hopefully it’s season three. if kadokawa is using such cryptic teasing for an ost or something i’m gonna be a little upset. i’m so excited to see what the site changes to next, and i absolutely can’t wait to hear the reveal! btw thank you @eraseruheddo for sending me updates while i was asleep!
I went to see SAO Ordinal Scale last night and heres my review
the animation was great especially during the battle scenes along with the music and of course the action itself.
Kirito (other than the fact he looked hot in the film 😍) didn’t seem to be interested in the ordinal scale at all since he was so use to dive in but on what happened to Asuna he decided to step up his game on it and also finding out the truth about ordinal scale and what its creator’s true goal was.
Eiji he was pretty much a badass when it comes to taking on SAO bosses but what his true goal was and what he did to both Klein and Asuna 😡 freaking pissed me off I just wanted to jump in the film and kill him 😡 same with the creator.
I was like GO ON KIRITO SHOW THEM WHAT YOU MADE OF 😏 he was the black swordsman on aincrad after all.
Yuna probably best character even though she was an AI and Idol she had a secret behind her she even helped Kirito out by helping him find out about Ordinal Scale’s true goal.
😍 The Kirisuna scenes got me squealing thats for sure it was obvious to make up for their lack of scenes in season 2 but i’ll take it 😍
and YES THERE WAS A KISS AND HUG between them also Kirito FINALLY told her he loves her I was like FINALLY 😍
I’ll give this movie a 10 out of 10 xD now I’m waiting for kissanime to upload it and the eng dub version coming
