My dad confessed to me the other day he’s actually warmed up to my cat these past years ever since I left home, and it’s honestly quite charming seeing him -my dad, a buff sportsman- interact with her.

It all began when she was young. She looked at herself daintily in the mirror. The rosy painted dress enveloped her figure and fell to her knees. She spun around with a giggle, letting the dress flow with her movements. In her peripheral vision she saw movement in the mirror, that wasn’t her. Her eyes met the mirror to see a young boy about her age. He sat atop her bed, calmly looking at her with a warm smile on his face. She gasped and whipped her head towards her bed. But… it was void of another person. She quickly looked around the room, but there was no boy.

She looked back at the mirror and he was still there, on her bed, watching her intently. “Umm.. H-Hello?” She stuttered, her voice small. He simply smiled brightly, his eyes disappearing as they turned into little crescents. “What is your name?” She asked him. He looked at her confused. “Do you… not have one?” She asked. “What is a name?” He questioned. “Um, it’s a thing people refer to you as…” She looked around her room trying to figure out how to explain it better. “See! Like! My name is (Y/n)! So another person call me like, ”(Y/n)! Time to get ready for the ball!“ and I would say, “Ok! I’ll be there in a minute!” Do you understand?“ She explained comically. He nodded.

Okay, I know I'm adding to the Negan talk(when this is so clearly a tumblr dedicated to the women) but to that last anon - Negan is trying to recruit Sasha. He's trying a different approach and just because he killed some asshole who was trying to sexually assault Sasha doesn't mean that he doesn't use intimidation with his wives to get what he wants. Again, I'm sorry for adding to this - Negan pisses me off.

negan is the very embodiment of rape culture, yet everyone’s acting like he’s some kind of social justice warrior now. honestly, it’s as delusional as it is disgusting.

negan is not against rape. he might have never physically forced himself on any of his “wives”, but sexual coercion is rape too. when you guilt, intimidate, manipulate, pressure or threaten someone in any way in order to get them to have sex with you, that’s sex without consent. so, him killing that other guy for attempting to rape sasha doesn’t mean he has some resemblance of a moral code nor does it make him a hero – it makes him a hypocrite.

like you said, he’s trying to recruit sasha, manipulate her into joining him; he did not save her out of the goodness of his heart. -rita

Arya and her moon references/symbolism pretty please ?

oh no problem you know this is my favorite subject lol. theres a lot of references to the moon in her story. its a part of the wild, natural world which arya has a strong connection to. its obviously associated with nighttime when arya is very active. even when she does sleep the moon is shining in her wolf dreams. its reminiscent of werewolves; by the light of the moon arya becomes a wolf. wolves (and cats) are lunar animals too.

And when the moon broke through the clouds, she threw back her head and howled. (ASOS)

Her nights were lit by distant stars and the shimmer of moonlight on snow, but every dawn she woke to darkness. (ADWD)

i think the most significant aspect of the moon’s symbolism in arya’s arc is cycles. the waning of the moon represents letting go. the waxing represents growth. just as the moon waxes and wanes so does arya’s identity. she goes from arya to arry to weasel to nan and then back to arya. and so it goes. the full moon is arya; fully realized and at the height of her power. no one is represented by the new moon, where the moon is completely hidden but will be reborn. this is exactly how the text presents it too. during the nights where the moon is black arya returns to the house of black and white and becomes no one. another noteworthy example: its with a full moon overhead that arya hears a tree calling her true name in mercy. the full moon in all its glory is whole just as arya is when she’s arya stark as opposed to one of her many aliases, which are only shadows of her real self. this is a very intentional motif imo.

“All men must serve.” And so she did, three days of every thirty. When the moon was black she was no one, a servant of the Many-Faced God in a robe of black and white. (AFFC)

similarly the moon represents transformations and arya goes through many of those as well (girl, boy, servant, ghost, lady, wolf, mouse ect) it also shows the passage of time and its literally applied in that way, the new moon lets arya know when to return to the house of black and white; the temple with a moon faced door.

Syrio had told her once that darkness could be her friend, and he was right. If she had the moon and the stars to see by, that was enough. (ACOK)

the moon is also connected to water - another major motif in arya’s arc. it’s a light in the darkness. its a huge symbol of femininity too so im interested to see if grrm utilizes the moon at all as arya becomes a maiden. overall its a powerful symbol that shows up a lot in arya’s storyline because of her emotional journey is one about change and growth even in the darkest places.

Shinigami and SGRS

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu or Showa and Genroku Era Lovers’ Suicide Through Rakugo. As the series that has suicide as part of its title, death is obviously central to the story. Our two main characters, Yakumo and Yotaro, are brought together around the rakugo of “Shinigami”. It’s the story of a foolish, greedy man who thinks he’s using the shinigami and ends up being used himself. Both Yakumo and Yotaro have a deep connection to the story. Yakumo, for reasons that are revealed as the story progresses, revels in the ability to express himself through the story. He gets to play an ambitious, unlikable man (how he views himself), and he gets to play a god that punishes the man (how he believes he should be punished). Yotaro sees the irony and humour in Yakumo’s performance and loves it. It effectively rewrites the path of his life and causes him to apprentice himself under Yakumo.

As this post specifically discusses “Shinigami”, death, and suicide in the series, I am putting it under a read more.

I committed to April NaNo IN A CABIN AND EVERYTHING so I gotta finalize my project like now, god

look at that smile he’s just saying hi

there’s something about even’s little nod in this scene

because even knows. he’s not oblivious, he notices the way isak reacts to his presence, to him. he’s been noticing him for weeks, weeks before they first met. he saw the way isak was when he came over to his place the previous week, he saw the look in his eyes, the light in his eyes, he saw the way he smiled and laughed, he noticed the changes in his voice. he probably memorized his facial expressions and the things he said last friday. kept replaying them in his mind every single day, in class, before going to bed, when he was with other people

earlier in that episode, when he came to give isak his snapback, in a matter of seconds, he understood that isak hadn’t told his friends he had gone to his place, he understood that he didn’t want them to know. because he sees and understands. he remembered the cardamom on the cheese toasties five weeks later, how they were sitting on the floor of his room as they ate them, he remembered isak saying he had a drop of water in his throat, he remembered isak talking about parallel universes. because he pays such close attention to isak and the way he looks and moves and speaks and all the things he says

do you think that even, who saw this boy on the first day of school, who was probably looking forward to seeing him even when it was just at school, in public, in rooms and hallways with other students, would not notice how isak was acting? notice the way he’s been looking at him the moment he showed up at his place for the pregame? the way he starred at him when he kissed sonja and looked at him straight in the eyes? how tensed he was as he told him about sonja and how they’d been together for years? the intonation of his voice as he said his okay’s (been together since we were 15. okay. can’t dump her. okay). do you think that even who’s been desperately trying to spend time alone with this boy he was falling for would not notice the smile that spread all over isak’s face when he realized that even was messing with him, the smile he was trying to stop it, in vain? do you think he would not sense his attraction to him? the vulnerability?

of course even notices. and since he came to see isak in his kitchen, he’s only been kidding, pretending not to be serious. but with that little nod, he grows more serious. with that little nod, it’s like he’s saying i see you, i see it, i’ve seen you for a while. it’s reassuring. it’s okay. it’s understanding. i know, isak. i know. me too
