I don't understand why people say that cc is homophobic because she didn't give Malec a happy ending since Magnus in the books is still immortal. Like, do they realize that Magnus is immortal in the show too? And I doubt Alec will become immortal as well or something like that
me either?? they already have a happy ending, even though magnus will be on his own and grieve, he’ll still remember the love that he and alec had? also, not giving alec immortality etc isn’t homophobia, it’s just an example of something incredibly tough that couples have to go through. not every thing is sunshine and rainbows, and malec have their own amazing relationship and lives atm without making magnus mortal and leaving max on his own/making alec immortal and losing their child. this same exact situation happened to tessa and will, yet people are still calling the malec situation oppressive. people are immortal sharon (in tsc), get over it.
also people seem to be under the impression that magnus or alec are suddenly and magically change their mortality in the show- it’s an incredibly important decision for magnus and alec and shouldn’t be for the fans to decide/expect. if cc was homophobic, why would she create alec and magnus in the first place? why go through all that time and effort to create characters and have them turned down because they’re lgbt and the story was written in 2005?
it honestly irks me so much when people do that thing where they think they know the characters better than the author- sorry buddy, but you’re not the one who literally created them out of thin air.
