its an exercise

Sweating + meal prepping

I just notice this yesterday and a little today, but I don’t really sweat during arm/shoulder workouts and very little during ab workouts. I don’t think that it’s because I’m not working hard enough, because a lot of the time I’m shaking and really struggling to get those last reps in. I’m pretty much going til failure. Anyone else experience this, or is it just me?

Also, I’m kind of switching my food up and I’m gonna try higher protein, still low fat though. If you guys are interested in seeing what I’m gonna be eating for next week, maybe I can take a few pictures on Sunday when I actually cook everything? Idk, lemme know 👉👉

Robbie being unintentionally good at dealing with the children’s flaws.

Stingy claims everything as his? Robbie figures he’d never had something that was truly his and helps him make his own clothes. That are his only, have only ever been his and were made specifically for him.

Trixie causes trouble left and right? She needs attention, she is bored. So he entertains her and puts her in charge of something so she can feel important.

Ziggy is obsessed with sweets? Let him eat all the candy he wants. After a day of stomach pain and nausea he’ll never want so much candy again. Some things you have to experience to know they’re not good for you.

Pixel doesn’t like social interactions and sometimes spends hours playing video games right until the next morning? Robbie teaches him ways how to cope with being an introvert and feeling overwhelmed by sensations and explains things to the other children so they can be considerate. As for the gaming, the power goes out suspiciously often lately…

And what about Stephanie? Well, sometimes she can be a bit forceful and stubborn and can’t see other people’s side of the argument. So Robbie, simply by telling her no and annoyedly pointing out the things she missed/ignored, helps her be less narrow-minded.

And he does all of that unintentionally. He just does it without second thought, as if that’s normal and obvious while Sportacus stands flabbergasted and very much in love.

Mood: wants to support the groups but doesn’t want to support companies that take advantage of young children and teenagers who would do anything to achieve their dreams and who get overworked, underpaid and abused 24/7

Hey, I LOVE the diverse way you draw faces and characters and I was wondering if you have any tips on how you do that? Too often when I practice drawing I get stuck in that "same face" rut and I struggle to branch out. It's hard for me to make it look natural and I usually end up so disheartened that I stop practicing for long amounts of time, which I know is not helping me at all. Again, absolutely love your art style. :)

Oh shucks ! Thank you friend. ‘Same Face TM ‘ is probably the hardest thing to break. Drawing in your comfort zone is relaxing and falling into patterns happens to everyone. I’m gonna tell you tho – it takes a lot of crummy drawings and tests to get into the more natural exploration. You just gotta keep pushing yourself! So here’s a little exercise I tend to do daily ( or every other day ). I give myself a time limit of about 10-15 minutes. I draw a bunch of random shapes

And then I just take those shapes put faces in them. I don’t let myself think too much because the moment I start to they get harder and harder to draw! So here’s the result of my 10 minute time restraint

Voila! Just a bunch of random faces for kicks. And then you leave it and try it again the next day and so on and so on. I also tend to just look at people and their expressions / face shapes. Just observing can really go a long way for making it click. This is what’s helped me to look at faces and push / exaggerate things in ways that fit. I hope this is sort of helpful anon!

*still wearing gloves* I am your biggest fan, Fancy!!! I love you!!! I wash my hands at least 12 times a day, and after touching anything even slightly dirty, I have bottles and bottles of hand sanitizer, and I am always fully equipped with cleaning wipes and disposable rubber gloves! But even this doesn't seem to be clean enough. Regardless, you are truly an inspiration to clean freaks everywhere!

I’m pr-

* Anyway.

*poof* This is the only way I really take selfies…with a snapchat filter. I think that’s going to change. I’ll start showing my scars. Start showing the acne and hives and marks and blemishes. I’m so hard on myself and always looking for validation. All of the stressing doesn’t help. I keep myself from meeting new people because I can’t face the thought of them not liking me. I was always reduced to a joke and made fun of growing up in school. I had thick glasses since I’m almost legally blind. Pepperoni face…like the commercials you see for proactiv where they like to boast the most terrible cases can be cured… I’m unable to take accutane so watching everyone like me in school become clear and bloom into social butterflies made me want to kill myself all the time. I haven’t changed since then. I can’t accept myself. That has to change. I’m becoming violent. I’m acting out against myself. I want peace. I need love. And I can’t be worried about wanting people to like how I look. It is so hard.

So here’s a random realisation.

I consume a lot of content, like A LOT, (tv, movies, books, music, etc you name it) and more often than not, particularly with the visual form of content, I find myself consuming content passively. What I mean is that I just sit there and watch things without really processing them (most of the time after a really tiring day, it’s the kind of content I prefer, because I don’t really have to think too much about it). But here’s the great thing about this little Norwegian tv show, it doesn’t allow us to do that. Skam feels like what the future of media content should be. Active audience engagement. The fact that you have to seek out the website, wait for updates, integrate that with other social media updates. It makes you less likely to consume the show without thought. Here’s Julie saying, this show isn’t going to play by the rules, we’re not gonna spoon feed you, figure it out yourself.

And because your participation in it is self-initiated, you’re more likely to start actively assessing what you watch, and start thinking about implications and making predictions. And substantiating/backing up those assertions you make and this is where metas and analyses comes in. what I love so much about this show is the sheer amount of discussion that goes on in the fandom as the seasons progress and everyone’s active (im using this word a lot am i?) involvement in these discussions. Not only does it cultivate a mindset of critical analysis, but also you learn to be more engaged with the characters and their development which in turn teaches us empathy.

Ok, but like, don’t a lot of shows have fandoms that discuss things and have fans who relate to characters? Well, yes, I’m not saying they don’t. But another thing that sets skam apart from most shows is the audience engagement is much more of a two way street than most tv shows (which incidentally makes the audience interest more sustained in the show). a lot of the times, most tv/movies get produced first and then the audience gets the finished product and the feedback from the audience is delayed by 4 to 5 episodes. If its something the audience isn’t receptive of, shows probably only start pivoting in the next season.  And some show creators don’t really care about the audience feedback beyond the numbers and ratings. and on some shows, all they care about are the review critics. and tv networks and movie producers generally don’t care about fans so long as the content makes money. There have been fandoms where the creators have actively worked against what the general fandom wants, which creates a negative dichotomy where the fandom still engages in the media that doesn’t want to cater to them.

But so far, skam is, fortunately, different in that fan discussions are welcomed and even addressed (re: all those fourth wall breaking). And the response from the creators is often almost instantaneous, fluid and flexible. It creates a lively environment that fosters creativity for both fan and content creator (albeit challenging for the show runners). And because the content creators listen, viewers are more likely to become much more discerning, critical thinking people who form opinions on their own and want to actively (there’s that word again) throw these ideas out there to the creators and have some sort of autonomy over the content that they’re consuming rather than just sitting staring at the screen being fed ideas passively. Basically, what im saying is, watching skam helps me become smarter lmao.

Weight Loss, Update, and Measurements!

Hey peoples! Wickedly Healthy here, coming at you for an update on my weight loss journey. Hope you’re all having a great Sunday! Hope all is good in your world and that you’re taking it easy. My Sunday is going to be very lazy aside from going to the gym later on today. It’s most likely going to be a repeat of my yesterday. I’ll be sitting on my butt playing video games for most of the night. (Yes, I’m that kind of girl. Lazy as f-)

I lost two pounds from last weigh in so now I am at 244! My original goal was to be at 242 around this time, but since it’s only a two pound difference I’m not letting it bother me. I know there were days where I could have worked harder and I could have eaten better, but I also gotta live life, plus I was sick for a good week. (excuses, excuses)
