Petition to take Anders out of the “Heartbreak Apostates” and “Sad Blonde Men” collections and put him in an all new “Good Spirit Friends” collection with Cole and Wynne

We saw this exchange 30 episodes before we were told or shown what being a pearl on Homeworld truly meant, before we could actually understand the weight behind Pearl being explicitly given a choice, Pearl expressing want, and Pearl being allowed to make her own decision (with Rose putting in a marked effort to make sure Pearl was aware of exactly what the choices entailed).

I adore rewatching SU episodes because of stuff like this - some scenes and lines take on entirely different meanings, or become something you can suddenly appreciate on several new levels.

To the anon who asked:

Knowing that gems respectfully address their Diamonds as ‘my Diamond’, does that change the context of 'my Pearl’ in your opinion?

You’re wonderful.

I’d say… in a way, both yes and no. No because I’ve always interpreted the line as being an expression of affection, love, a sort of pride, and respect, as well, so it’s not really that new to my read of it. But also yes because it can take on a slightly different connotation when viewed through the lens of what we’ve learned about the way Diamonds are formally addressed. If you interpret it as Rose taking this whole… part of a royal protocol, almost, and applying it to someone who is at best considered an object to be owned, less than a person? Well, it’s the exact kind of deliberate subversiveness that forms a lot of my draw to the Pearl/Rose relationship (and that makes me incredibly annoyed when people insist on pigeonholing it into some oversimplified pining unrequited mess, which it clearly was not).

In my mind it also ties into Sworn to the Sword’s “my liege/my knight”. And, going back to my earlier point about choice, that episode also gives us “I can do this for you, I can give you my service.” (it’s made abundantly clear that pretty much everything Connie says in that episode is something Pearl taught her, for better or worse). There is also the famous exchange:

“Did Rose make you feel like you were nothing?”
“Rose made me feel like I was everything.”

With the implication that it was everything but Rose working to convince Pearl she was “nothing” - something that was pretty firmly confirmed in Back to the Barn and the following episodes. It’s made repeatedly clear to me that Rose thought very highly of Pearl, that she trusted her and valued her input, and that Pearl was just as important to her as the other way round. I feel it’s also clear that she was the first (and for a long while only) person to do so.

I’ve spoken about this before, but I love the idea of Pearl seeing humans go about their chivalrous knightly business, and having a huge IT ME!!! moment, overjoyed at finding a way to conceptualise both her own identity and the particulars of her relationship with Rose without using Homeworld norms and terms.

The concept of service by choice isn’t even… a blip on Homeworld’s radar, from what we’ve seen. I’m just very attached to the highlighted elements of volition (and a slow adoption of the same) surrounding what we see of the Pearl/Rose relationship, and the way it goes against everything they’re “supposed” to be. They both struggle with these ingrained things, of course, and we get to see Pearl dealing with overcoming horrible internalised junk in particular, and it’s made clear that, yes, this is a very hard thing to do, and a long process that might never be completely finished. We’ve also seen that, for example, they had pretty impassioned arguments about Pearl deciding her well-being was worth less than Rose’s - but the fact that they argued about it speaks volumes to me. Recently we’ve also gotten to see them work as a very impressive and incredibly synchronised, well-oiled unit in The Answer (down to the way their musical themes and instrument palettes intertwine), which gave us a rebellion-era glimpse of them to contrast the more dysfunctional one of Sworn to the Sword.

There is an explicit effort to achieve a removal of obligation, ownership, inequality, and duty present between them, with what is left there being only what the two of them decide to put in place themselves - mutually and consensually, if at all possible. It might not always work out and their Homeworld pasts might get the better of them at times, they have issues (as does, frankly, pretty much every relationship ever), and I’ve been told my read is way too optimistic, but honestly, if nothing else, I’m in love with the fact that they try, and I cherish the evidence of their successes that the show gives me.

Lol

Been thinking about a sidgeno Lost Childhood Love AU on my way to work that reads like a sappy romantic dramedy novel-soon-to-be-turned-movie that starts off like:

No one knows who gave Sidney the ring, or why they did, and no know wanted to ask. All they know is that Sidney keeps it on a chain and wears it on his neck, pressing it against his lips before every game and closing his eyes briefly as he did so. They see him fiddle around with it whenever he’s nervous, feeling the metal through his shirt as he gives reporters the same answers to the same questions. One time, he’d accidentally misplaced it, and he had panicked so badly that both Jake and Conor were afraid he’d start twitching if Flower hadn’t found it at the bottom of a pile of unwashed jerseys.

It’s a Sidney thing, and Sidney is nothing but extraordinary, and extraordinarily peculiar.

  • Hunk and Lance didn’t meet in the same preschool nor did they ever go to the same school (until the garrison) but met each other in a nearby playground where they continued to meet up for the next 8-11 years of their life, they usually let off steam about the shit that goes down in their schools.
  • “Like, if you’re going to steal something from the mall -” “Don’t wear your uniform?” “EXACTLY. God, that guy was so stupid.” “Agreed.”
  • “Then… then he KICKED the guy’s nose!!! He was bleeding, Lance! He needed to be taken to the hospital!!” “Oh my God, and then what?” “A girl was crying the whole entire time and -” the stories they share go on and on.

  • Hunk is Lance’s only tether to Earth because Hunk is childhood and playground days, fighting off bullies and staying up at night under covers and pillow forts, charting stars while laying on muddy grass after rain, stealing cookies when their mothers aren’t looking, and making stupid jokes together as the sun went down – all of their world, quiet and soft and sound.
  • Lance loves Hunk and Hunk loves Lance. They’re best friends, because water breathes life on Earth and what is water without it’s Earth?

Otayuri headcanon: Yuri has gotten himself and Otabek kicked out of places numerous times due to obnoxious behavior. Once they were asked to leave a store because they started play fighting and Yuri ended up taking it too seriously and jumping on Otabek, causing him to knock over a shelf and spill the contents all over the floor. Otabek apologized profusely but Yuri just rolled his eyes and dragged Beka out.

OMG YES? I totally can see that? Every time it happens Otabek is so embarassed, but when Yuri starts laughing and brings this back Beka laughs with him, because it is fun.
thank you for that headcanon! <3

I am now curious! How did you base off the fan faves? But yeah I do love kirishima and tsuyu and many of them lol

Don’t jump too high, not a interesting story in the least, don’t expect any cutting commentary most of these facts I got from witnessing my own posts in action¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Short ver. : Statistics. Numbers are actually telling me those three are the most loved. That is literally all it took for me to know this and why tokoyami didn’t make the list, you only have yourself to blame tokoyami fans*finger of shame*

Long ver. (shits for real long):

So these facts are more or less coming from a pattern I started noticing whenever I post certain content for the fandom, or more simply put: note counts.

I post a lot of things, all varied, all debatable in quality and just enough to keep this blog going.

And so one time, while I’m still a baby blog who was just starting in the bnha fandom, I made these Tsuyu & Ochako posts I didn’t think were good enough: those got high note counts, I was not expecting that.

Based off that, I knew Ochako & Tsuyu were extremely popular because I broke 1k posts for each of them when I couldn’t even manage those kinds of numbers back when I first started tumblr, the norm for me then were a few solid 100s stuck in the 30-60s but I never broke a 1k easily.

The tags for those told me even more, from a cursory perspective for people who haven’t even watched or heard of the show love the designs of these two. Tsuyu for obvious reasons and Ochako because she’s a ball of adorable

And I’ve replicated that Tsuyu post with other characters (you’ll see one for all might, bakugou & even sero), those numbers never happened again for that kind of post.

Frog girl has absolute rule.

Now the one thing I wasn’t too aware of was Kirishima’s height in popularity, I had a ballpark but not a full understanding, until just recently after posting something fairly basic I genuinely didn’t think would get much, 30or60 if I lucked out while it snailed higher.

It broke 200 in a single night!!!

Tags are equal in support, you know how many times I witnessed a kiri reblog with the tags in caps?!

Kiri fans are just as energetic as he is :D

Don’t doubt Kirishima’s charisma, sharkboy is absolutely adored. You can always find that someone who doesn’t like Bakugou or Deku (I’ve seen it) or are just ok with them along with Todoroki but you can be sure Kirishima has a solid fanbase who will fight you for him or even those who just can’t help but melt for him. He’s just absolutely lovable and no one can say they don’t like the guy, he’s a good boy. Even I have a average amount of love for him but I’d still take a bullet for him ok, no one can lose this sunshine hero ;A; (irony being he wouldn’t want that, thats why you gotta support him!!)

Same with Tsuyu, there is near perfect agreement about this frog gal and you all shall bow down to our froggy overlord eventually!!!!

Ochako might be a bit unsteady but make no mistake she’s still high up there with them.

Of course I’m also a part of the fandom and I do know just about all the characters are well loved and appreciated, I as well share the sentiment with em but I also know some really do have just a handful of absolute faves. Most just seem to gravitate more easily to these guys.

I mean we do have the bnha sorter for a reason, to out you good parents who say you love all your children equally (¬‿¬)

In no way am I saying those three are unpopular, they are in a standard shonen bubble but you’d be surprised how many would jump in defence for one of the other three, shout at the tops of the roof for them or sell a kidney, they just have this wide fanbase.

The only difference made was if I make a basic post with either of those boys I can’t make the same note count as the other group, I have to be clever and make good stuff for them to even make it up there to their rank and even then its not that overwhelming ┐(‘~`;)┌ I know you all like Deku, Bakuogu (ymmv) & Todoroki and there is very good fanwork for them but imo it hits fandom standards, pretty much within shonen fandom expectations.

But this is the real secret fandom powerhouse team:

I’ve always thought that, just never said till now

There just seems be this unified agreement I keep witnessing.

In closing: all this is coming from unintentional study, I just happened to witness and catch onto to what everyone is in unspoken agreement about.

I’m going to reiterate this but bnha fandom is a very interesting shonen fandom to be in, an interesting fandom to be in period, because I’ve seen plenty and you can usually catch onto what the majority thinks or the fandom norms are once you’ve been in or seen enough. bnha currently breaks those expectations, thats why I’m still with it + you know the show is damn awesome

So I’m going to bold the main point of the results:

It wasn’t taking personal taste into account, it was just by majority of vote

Yup those fave were decided by how many people liked them outright, that was all. Nothing else going on but pure adoration, I’m only basing all this off fan reception I’ve seen and had experienced¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Y’all just have a higher affinity for these three

By the way, I was expecting dissension about the lack of personal fave, nope you all are in consensus between agreeing with the post, everyone is a fave or we’re missing Tokoyami; Those are the factions, now pick your pokemon go team!

FYI anyone asking about Tokoyami’s position I addressed that along with shinsou with some unnecessary categorization cause no one can stop me now!!!! ψ(`∇´)ψ

And that was my way-too-long-for-this-simple-ask answer since my overachieving ass won’t settle for a lesser explanation εミ(ο_ _)ο *dies*

Little did the anon know what kind of crap long explanation I was gonna burst out on ψ(^Ф∀Ф^)ψ

I actually have read that fic a few times and it’s definitely one of my favorite osoichi(kara) fics ever. It’s a really really good fic, super hot and sweet at the same time and the characterization is splendid.

“You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.” for your apprentice and whoever they kissin.

Trill wakes slowly and painfully, his entire skull a deep and persistent throb that makes it hard to even lift his head. Luckily for him, there is a cool hand slipping behind his neck, into his hair, cradling the back of his head and holding him steady as another hand eases him upright.

“There we are,” drawls a familiar voice, smooth and accented and touched with the faintest edge of concern. “Thought I’d have to rely on old fairy tales and start kissing you awake.”

Trill opens his eyes, squinting against the faint flickering candlelight coming from the bedside table and tries to take stock of his surroundings while still swimming in a muzzy fog. “Wh… Where…?” He jolts, fumbles to push himself upright, but the hand helping him pushing gently against his collarbone to stop him.

“Easy, now, don’t rush yourself.”

Trill looks up and blinks, and Julian’s hazy scarlet form starts to separate into something beyond fuzzy blobs of color and into concrete shapes, long and lean and just a bit gaunt, the bruise-colored circles beneath his eyes looking deeper and almost hollow in the shadows thrown by the puttering candle. “What happened?” Trill murmurs, bringing a hand to his clammy forehead.

“You fainted… straight into my arms,” Julian says, mouth kicking up in a teasing grin just a bit to wobbly to be properly roguish. “You know, if you wanted my attention, you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”

Is it wrong that every time i see a meta now about how Swan Queen is endgame or CS is supposed to look bad intentionally i get angry? How can someone trust these writers after everything that we have gone through? How can you analyse camera angles and clothes when the plot is so ridiculus? I feel that people are queerbaiting themselfs and others at the same time

Is it wrong to be angry? No. Of course not. But what you need to do here is ask yourself, who exactly are you angry at, here? Because what you are talking about–is people. People like you and me, people who have every right to believe and share that belief with any other like-minded soul out there. So whether we are talking about the ‘endgamers’, people who desperately need to believe simply because this narrative gives them validation of their own existence, or those who do it as a form of a protest by proving that positive outcome is there, still attainable despite this show’s insistence on ignorance, erasure and blatant endorsement of harmful things implemented in their writing (heterosexism, misogyny, racism, homophobia) as well as writing/production team/cast’s insistence on ignorance and barely suppressed disgust towards femslash ship fans… then who the hell are we to act all high and mighty to gaslight them? The same way these homophobic bigots (yes, both showrunners and their heterosexist fans) are doing to us? Because yes, bottom line here is that you (as Swan Queen fan, and a SWEN–I assume) are actually implying that they, largely queer people–are incapable of objective analysis instead of projection, implying they are delusional–just like CSers and other heterosexists do?

I mean, really? Have we not been gaslit enough, so do we really need to do this to each other now, too?

There is a LOT of bad shit in this fandom. Way too many individuals who more often than not do the things they do for wrong motivations, egotistical intellectual self-imposing, as ‘kings’, ‘queens’ and ‘prophets’, because jolly gosh–-all other people in this fandom are sheep and in a dire need of a leader that would guide the hive mind? So the tone matters, because saying “this is it and nothing else is possible” (like these self-imposed sheep-herders do) is nothing like these other people, ‘hope peddlers’ if you will–making clear distinction between projection and research and analysis or something. If nothing, then because the voice, every fucking individual voice matters, you know? You see, that’s something that we here as a blog stood up for since day one–and yet me here, not a blog mod but an individual typing this personal response to you–had a VERY unpleasant experience recently. Because of this exact misdirected anger. ‘Cause wow, I refused to judge these people the same way you’re doing now. So I’ve been under a flak, accused of lack of objectivity and self-servitude because of my ‘personal affiliations’ with some of them. Just because why, some individuals needed someone to blame, and I was just in their way, a collateral, because geez–people are terrified about something unexpected that isn’t destructive?

In the end, anger is energy–should be directed at something. So I’d suggest aiming yours at the showrunners. Not any of the fans, or even actors (which is yet another problematic symptom of misguided indignation in this fandom) because it’s the showrunners who created this narrative (whether unintentionally or not) and ran with it, and then when thought that they garnered a bit of a too much queer following, afraid of the stigma–they started to backtrack, while of course trying to keep us as audience. So if you’ve been queerbaited, it was by them–not by any other fan out there. And this is like, blaming the victim now–isn’t it? Ultimately, in the age of information, ignorance is a choice. And there have to be queers willing to be baited, so if you use your head and refuse to be one of them… well–there will be no anger to mis/direct at all?

Its okay to be busy! Don't feel like a slave to your art and only draw when you feel like it. Don't push yourself for us, we'll be fine. ((especially with that amazing plance drawing thank you))

Yesss but all I wanna do all the time is draw *sobs* but thank you I love you

We don’t know what crimes Dabi committed, we just know that they were ‘minor crimes’ so I’m going along with something like this, kinda Stain-esque? I hope it’s okay! Not super angsty, but beware just in case!

“Everyone, get down on the ground.” Dabi’s voice was assertive as he spoke. It echoed off of the pristine walls of the building. He wasn’t yelling, but it was still loud.

Most of the people in the lobby of the TV center building turned around to face you and Dabi. Your appearance practically screamed ‘villain’, so a handful of people did as told and got down on the ground. The others followed when Dabi threatened them with a growing flame from the palm of his hand.

You waltzed up to one of the ladies at the reception, though she, too, was cowering beneath her desk. “Where does the filming take place?” You demanded. “F-Fifth floor.” The lady squeaked, and you relented, happy with the answer.

You turned to Dabi to usher him along, but he was already at your side. You smiled at how well he could read you. Together, you rushed to the stairs, quick in your actions. But just as you were leaving the first floor, Dabi picked up on a noise. He grimaced.

“Someone’s called for heroes already. That gives us no more than five minutes to finish what we came here to do.” He told you.

You shook your head, “We’ll make it! We’re almost there…”

The fifth floor was emptier than the first. All the filming equipment was there, but it seemed that it wasn’t in use right now. You walked over to an expensive camera sitting on a desk and smashed it. Screw those so-called heroes who only cared about fame. Seeing them in advertisements on TV, the internet, in the metro, it made your blood boil. Fucking capitalism. You and Dabi set out to send them a message - destroying the TV center seemed like a good way to send it across.

The sound of a sudden commotion from downstairs reached your ears. Both you and Dabi shot to look at each other, sharing that same, knowing look.

The heroes were here.

“We have to go-”

No!” You cut him off, “We’re so close. If we leave now, the media will be able to cover up the story and no one will ever know it happened. We’re too close to go back now.”

Dabi sucked in a breath through his teeth. He agreed with you, but was it worth the risk? With pro heroes storming the place as they spoke, it would not be possible to destroy the equipment and air the recording they made before to the public.

“[___],” Dabi repeated, “We have to go. We’ll find another way.”

Still you shook your head. “I’m going to air the message. Burn the rest of the place down, and we’ll escape as soon as I’m done.” You pulled out the USB with the pre-recorded message and plugged it into one of the computers in the room.

Dabi glanced towards the stairs. He could hear rapidly approaching footsteps now. They were almost out of time. Feeling heat rush to his fingertips, Dabi set his hand against the wall closest to the stairs and let out a gush of flames. They began to lick at the plaster, and Dabi retreated to the window from which they would escape. Again he called your name. “There’s no more time! We have to go, now!”

“I can’t leave now!” You cried back, “I’m almost done-!”

But you never got the chance to finish your work. Heroes broke through the wall of flames and stormed the room. They did not see Dabi. You could barely react before one with a long range quirk threw you against a wall. Another hero tied you up with their quirk, immobilised.

Dabi could not wait around any longer. Soon the building would be consumed by flames anyway, and he had to get away before the heroes noticed you had an accomplice. The image of you, bruised and bloody and slung over a hero’s shoulder like a trophy made him sick to the stomach.

Hang on, [___], Dabi thought, I’m going to rescue you.

I would like to know who is Yuuri's main love interest among 5 of them ?? Does Victor's children hate him or frustrated of their father's action ?

Uhhhh I’m not entirely sure if I understand the question? It’s Yuuri-centric polyamory. (Also 5 of them? which 5???) All of his husbands are his “main love interests,” they’re all loved by and love Yuuri back equally, even if they all have different histories with him and may have joined at different times. This AU features no “side” love interests, I have zero interest in unrequited/adultery themes ^ ^;

And I mean…no? Not really? Victor has his flaws and he has a lot to learn about parenting, just like all the others, but he tries really hard and I think he does a pretty good job at it, all things considered?? And he has a lot of people backing him up when he doesn’t know what to do ^ ^;

Sure he has his moments, like you probably shouldn’t do that with a kid, and empathy’s never been his strongest point so that sometimes causes misunderstandings, and he can sometimes be unintentionally mean and blunt…but he’s usually an extremely doting father who spoils all the kids rotten to the point another parent has to step in to be strict ^ ^; He’s not perfect, and as with any family there are bound to be moments of frustration, but his kids couldn’t possibly hate him.

anonymous asked:

Dear Phyn, do you watch MCU movies? Do you know a lot about MCU ver. Tony Stark? Recently I’ve been thinking and I can’t help but realize that both Tony Stark and Mick Rory have a lot of similarities in common. They’re both my underappreciated babies. Mick was treated poorly by the legends teammates, and I didn’t see any better on Tony’s condition. Hey he literally changed the Stark Tower (personal) to Avengers Tower (team) for the avengers. [CONT]

(2) And I would like to think Tony also contributed a lot in their suits and weapons etc., but no appreciation was shown towards Tony (at least not in the movies). When anything shit happens, both Tony and Mick are the one quickly to be blamed, regardless of their previous contribution and the truth. I’m so disappointed with both the avengers and legends team where they can just simply pointing their fingers at the others and think that they themselves are free from any responsibility.

(3) In Age of Ultron, although the one who created Ultron was Tony (and don’t forget Bruce Banner helped him too, I know it’s because Tony asked him, but did he put a gun at Bruce’s head and forced him to do it? No. Bruce was an adult, he can made his own decision), but who actually pushed Tony into taking that final desperate step? Wanda. Without Wanda toying with Tony’s mind, he won’t even come up with this crazy idea, and yet I never saw Wanda apologized to Tony and the others *shrugs*

4) I also notice that both Mick and Tony have psychological issues. I think the symptoms were clear enough in the movies and TV shows. PTSD (both have been abducted and tortured), self-destructive behavior/suicide attempts (“I shouldn’t be alive, unless there’s a reason”) etc. (that’s all I can think for now, this is your forte after all, I love reading your analysis post) BTW both of them also have alcoholism issue (not sure Tony counted as alcoholic, but he does drink a lot in Iron Man movies)

(5) Oops didn’t thought I’d write so much, but this is just my personal opinion, actually I want to hear your opinions (even a whole new meta post, if I’m lucky enough?) regarding the common similarities between Tony and Mick. Of course you can reject my request if you haven’t watched any MCU movies, or you’re a Tony Stark hater. (You aren’t, are you?) Lastly, thanks for reading my (too long) ask. I hope my grammatical error didn’t confuse you, since English is not my first language. :)

Leaving this here in case anyone else wants to chime in or take off with this discussion, though sorry I don’t have anything personal to add ^^;
