Do you have any resources for writing about war? Alternate history, oppressive government, dystopian society. MC is the leader of a rebel group that starts a revolution and expands into one of two sides fighting a war. Fighting is nationwide but MC and his small group fight at home. I have a ton of worldbuilding to do but I know I need help writing about war. Everything about it, from fighting to ranks/chain of command to staying realistic to its effects on people. Anything you have will help!!

@0asissss

Oh boy, did you come to the right place!

Personally, when it comes to writing, my favorite thing in the world to do is research. Good resources for the actually writing about war are few and far between, so I think your best bet would be to research some big wars and war heroes. Maybe pick up some historical fiction from authors like Tim O’Brien. If you’re really into history, check out some news articles from the World Wars from both sides, or the Vietnam War. When writing about a topic such as war, it is essential that you do your research.

Most of the resources I give you will be America-centric because that’s what I grew up learning about, and that’s also what I know best. These types of articles will be different for different countries.

I have bolded what I think is most helpful.

There is absolutely no way that the man in that article, who was interviewed a little over a month ago, is ready to "step out" with a new woman. He is still crazy about Taylor, no doubt about that. Why are people so opposed to good old fashioned love? Its not that deep, people. And don't even get me started on the fact that they could actually be together, happy, and trying to figure things out....God Forbid!! (sarcasm)

Lol I agree with you. But people don’t want to get their hopes up or they really are just cynical about life.

If they expected this to quiet the Larry fandom they did the exact opposite, because I’ve been seeing more and more stories coming out about meeting/seeing/hearing about Harry and Louis being spotted places together.

This is a really weird situation because if you think about it its doing different things for different people.

People outside of the fandom that have no idea about the boys or Larry are becoming more aware of the boys with less of a focus on Harry. So its pulling interest from people that would not originally give two shits about One Direction. Aside from that I find it really important that the media made sure to continuously note that Louis and Bri were “just good friends” and that she was a stylist. Check the articles every single one of them mentions that. So therefore, not only is Louis getting PR but she is as well.

While it worked in terms of PR, its a really shitty situation for the actual One Direction fans. You have two factions, one that is like okay whatever, and then you have one that is PISSED!

This story ignited Tumblr in minutes, to be honest I’m surprised we didn’t crash the site.

While I feel like this story was meant to slightly push the boys further into the closet it actually did the complete opposite within the Larry fandom itself.

It worked for most of the day but now I’ve been seeing post after post about secret fan stories that have not been talked about. Stories about how often Harry and Louis are talked about and seen about.

If the team wanted to quiet the fandom they probably shouldn’t have pushed us so far. This caused an onslaught of Larry confirmation coming from lots and lots of people.

If their plan was seeding for the coming out, well then they certainly choose an interesting way to do it.
