it-might-change-by-tomorrow---but-now..-i-am-happy

I have an announcement...

So, I have something to say which I maybe should have shared earlier, but better late than never right? I also want to avoid as many questions as possible tomorrow…

I am in Orlando at the NANs right now, but although you might see my name in the B split I will not be dancing tomorrow. Not long after the worlds, I made the decision to officially retire from competitive Irish dancing. I’ve kept it kind of quiet until now in case I changed my mind, and although it’s bittersweet to be done I am happy with my decision. I could not be happier or more satisfied with my dancing career, and I think this years Worlds was the perfect note to end on. Never in my life would I have imagined that i would make it as far as I did or achieve my biggest goal, but somehow it happened and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m also SO incredibly thankful for the people I’ve met through Irish dancing whether it be dancers and families from Glencastle, feises, or even this website (shoutout to Han, MK, Kur, El, and Mads especially- who knew internet friends could be so great?!!!?)

Like I said, I’m “retiring”- I really hate when people say I’ve quit. That’s definitely not the case here because it’s not over yet. I am BEYOND excited to start the next part of my journey as I focus on both starting college and continuing my career as a teacher and hopefully a future TCRG. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey so far, though, and for everyone who helped me dare to make my dreams a reality! But don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere yet😉

Best of luck to all my U18 loves tomorrow! Go out there and dance your hearts out- you all deserve everything you want and more and are going to absolutely kill it!!!
