Pretty interesting that the United States can “fight ISIS” for 4-5 years and the whole time Islamic State expands its territory. Russia decides to join the “fight against ISIS” in 2015 and utterly defeats them within 2 years.
Remember when the cia tried to frame Assad over chemical weapons just after Obama spent months building up his “red line” rhetoric? That was hilarious. In my opinion that defeat of the war mongers, when Obama’s pretense for invasion collapsed under scrutiny, was the turning point against Isis.
They couldn’t win with Obama’s logistic support alone and his time in office was limited. The final nail in the coffin was the trump victory. No way for the deep state to completely conceal itself and the “muh russian” narrative was born to suppress further scrutiny under a loose cannon administration.
I just came to the realization that the Lego Batman movie is the only Batman movie to ever have Bruce acknowledge his grief over his parents and have the theme of Bruce finding a family (and becoming a parent himself) helping him heal.
Like wow, no other movie wanted to explore Bruce healing and becoming a better crime fighter? Not one of them?
Like this is the reason they don’t let the robins in the Batman movies, they don’t want to explore Bruce healing or even relapsing by losing Jason and healing again by reconnecting with his eldest son and meeting Tim because fan boys think Bruce’s trauma and pain are his only reasons to fight crime and that really means they are the ones who don’t understand Batman.
So yeah that’s why I consider the silly, light hearted Lego Batman as the greatest Batman movie. It understands there is more to Batman then his angst and by not acknowledging Bruce’s recovery or his love of people, Bruce is one note and boring (something they make fun of at the beginning of the movie).
Happy Star Wars Day! Here’s a sketch of a Jedi!Finn costume based on this outfit of John’s, which literally made me gasp aloud because all that drapey swishy fabric just screams Jedi!
I’m in a film costume history class right now, so I got really excited thinking about all the materials and whatnot. The leather sleeve is of course from the mangled Dameron jacket, and maybe the belts are salvaged from that material too. The drapey grey over-piece would be more of a soft, woven, matte fabric. The inside would be kind of satiny and dark, but would seem understated and subtle until it catches light in a really pretty blue violet. Also, I gave him some form of shoes that aren’t boots since I imagine the poor guy is tired of wearing them by this point, lmao.
