Genre | Vampire / Escort AU.

Winter Anime Final Impressions

I was supposed to do this like two weeks ago but with Gundam ending so late and me getting swept up with many things, I didn’t have the time, but here’s a quick rundown of the best and worst of the Winter season. I’m gong from best to worst and also since I watched very few shows this season, I ‘m not gonna break them down in best/meh/worst

Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen

A masterpiece to the very end, as heartbreaking as it was full of joy and love. There was this weird insinuation at the end that didn’t sit well with me at all and I’m not sure why they felt the need to do it, but I can overlook it because the rest of the picture is so wonderful and special and heart-wrenching. When Konatsu asked Yakumo to make her his apprentice, I actually cried. What a beautiful show. Don’t let the obscure antique Japanese art keep you from experiencing one of the best anime of this decade.

Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto-hen

I was a bit worried about this one because lately, when an “old” show gets a sequel many years after it last aired, said sequel turns out underwhelming and poorly done. See D.Grayman HALLOW (which also adapted my favorite arc from that manga) and Berserk (production values aside, the decline of this is due to Miura’s gross storytelling, so I guess it was inevitable). But I was more than surprised and ecstatic to see this rendition of the Kyoto arc did justice on the source material, with excellent production values, a good pace and wonderful emotional and action scenes alike. AoEx is one of the finest examples of the battle shonen genre and that translated wonderfully to this new iteration of the anime. I can only hope we’ll see Izumo’s and Shura’s arc eventually too.

ACCA-13-ku Kansatsuka

I was a Little on the fence on this one at the start, but once they laid down all the cards and tied all the loose threads, it became absolutely amazing. I’m sorry I ever doubted you Natsume Ono, your ability to craft smart and fascinating adult stories shall never be questioned again. Definitely worth checking out if you want to try something different to your usual anime genres. Helps that the visuals are really interesting and that Mauve is such a bae. I still feel Jean was the weakest link with his absolute nonchalance, but even that somehow worked at the end. Definitely worth going through the somewhat slow initial episodes.

Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation

NGL i’m not a fan of Kaburagi, he’s so much like Naruko I don’t feel he adds anything to the team. But this is now officially the Teshima show and that compensates for the snooze that is Kaburagi because Teshima has become so fabulous and cool I’m just excited every week to see what he’ll do next. Also the First-year race was a true highlight and I’m very disappointed Sugimoto didn’t make the cut, they did a fantastic job in making him likable, so it was sad to see him lose. Hopefully he’ll get to assist Imaizumi when they’re 3rd years.

This show’s a lot of fun, with really sweet animation and it also sports the Best Girl of the season, Sucy Manbavaaran, although I gotta say there were a bit too many fillerish episodes and it was frustrating to see them take so long to get the plot going. I’m not hating on the show, it is in fact extremely entertaining, but it’s a little lacking on the plot department. Hopefully we’ll get more of that on the second cour.

Classicaloid

I’ve never been happier of not quitting a show as I am about Classicaloid. By episode 3 I was on the verge of giving up because it wasn’t what I had expected, but I kept going and I ended falling so hard in love with this show I’m ecstatic it’s getting a second season. Once I embraced the absurdity, it became the best comedy of the season, and I honestly would watch Schubert’s fishy misadventures for 52 weeks a year. It’s an acquired taste for sure and not easy to recommend, but if you’re willing to let go of all reason, you’re sure to have a good time.

All Out!!

I have a lot of love for this show and its characters (and Sekizan’s ridiculous hair), but I’m afraid the pacing they chose basically doomed them because with the abysmal sales, it seems unlikely we’ll ever see a second season and therefore we’ll never get to see if Jinko does get to Hanazono. It’s a perfectly competent sports series, that does a really good job of developing its huge cast, definitely much better than the likes of Prince of Stride or DAYS, but its inconclusive ending is quite frustrating. I really do hope we get to see more of these boys, but Madhouse’s never been all that good with the whole getting-sequels-done so…

In spite of its low ranking, this is actually a really good show and a unique take on teenage female sexuality that you wouldn’t normally see in this mostly sexist medium. Hanabi made for a truly interesting protagonist and I liked seeing her explore herself and her relationships. I was however quite disappointed by how little focus we actually had for Hanabi and Mugi’s relationship. I felt there was more telling than showing in that regard, especially in the latter half of the show. The ending was pretty good and mature in spite of everything, and as always, I’m just really fond of all the vaginal imagery in the ED animation. Could’ve done without Moca though.

Gundam: Tekketsu Orphans

At the end of the Fall season, I expressed my concern about pointless, meaningless deaths. Clearly the Gundam writers thought I wasn’t concerned enough because the amount of characters that died pointless deaths went on to, I think, the double digits. I wouldn’t have minded the carnage if there had been some sort of payoff to the sacrifices. For example, if Shino hadn’t stupidly and conveniently missed his one shot because the show couldn’t afford to kill Rustal yet. I always felt Orga, Mika and Akihiro had a ton of death flags looming over their heads, but I certainly didn’t expect all three of them to get to the chopping block. Orga’s death was particularly random and pointless, but then again, what they did with Orga in general was very confusing. That he agreed to McGillis’s sketchy propositions to become “king of Mars” never made a whole lot of sense to me and that’s the result we got. I’ll also never get over how creepy and weird the whole Atra giving Mika a baby thing was. In short, I have very mixed feelings about it.

I could write thousands of words for everything that was wrong with this series but I think it wouldn’t make justice to the absolute experience that is watching this amazing trainwreck. Go watch it to see a masterclass of how not to anime. Honestly I had such a good time hating this show, it was so horrible in every possible way. Good job GoHands, even animate, who sponsored this show, won’t give it any publicity.

Super Lovers

I’m not sure of how this production team managed to put out 20 episodes of nothing actually happen. Like you just have to give kudos to the writers for managing to simply not do anything over the course of 6~ hours of content. No drama, no decent comedy, no character development, not even relationship development in a BL romance. It’s kind of amazing how pointless the whole thing is. The dog’s still cute and the relationship is still creepy and gross and that’s about all there is to say about this.

Although most of the shows I watched turned out great, it did feel like a weaker season because there wasn’t that much that was interesting (my Wednesdays were literally empty). Or maybe everything looks lackluster in this post-Yuri on Ice world D: But there was Rakugo and rakugo is good and I’m glad we live in an age in which such a niche, quiet and adult artistic show could be made and tell a complete story.

Like Limbs and Hearts, Entwined (Part 2)

Summary:  When the woven birch crown appears in the Sacred Grove, the village elders know that The God of Field and Forest, The Lord of the Ancient Wood, has decided to take a Bride.  The most beautiful girl in the village, chosen by him and blessed with his grace, is to perform the marriage rites on the First Summer Moon, thus ensuring a bountiful harvest and continued prosperity for the community…  And you are so very certain and so very thankful that it could never be you!

Prev.

Soon after the ground began to thaw from the last snow, it was time to work on the season’s planting.  One cloudless early morning, your father set out on his daily chore of checking the traps he’d placed in the woods while you went about preparing the garden.  It was not a particularly easy task, but you had never shied away from hard work.  In fact, you were quite fond of this day of the year.  There was something about working the damp earth after a long cold winter, the promise of future harvest, the pride in a job well done.  It made the sweat and mucked up skirts and exhaustion at the end of the day worthwhile.

Closing thoughts on ESC ‘17

◆  What a year, folks! In February, my closest circle of friends and I were quite despondent about the year’s offerings - it seemed like there was plenty of quality in the national finals, but little of it filtering through to Eurovision itself. I would never have dreamt of the firestorm that was about to come: Portugal winning its first Eurovision after almost fifty failed and often criminally underrated attempts is just the crowning surprise as we have a top 3 that, in its entirety, are countries getting their best results ever.

The last time that all three “medallists” were also countries getting their best result ever at that point was in 2006, where Finland won for the first time, Russia got their best ever second place (Dima besting Alsou a few years before going for gold) and Bosnia & Herzegovina grabbing third. This trinity of victors is even more impressive, consisting of three countries who tend not to qualify, two of which (Portugal and Moldova) having not ever even reached the top 5 before. This was two fingers to those banging the drum about political voting being the be all and end all of Eurovision: here are three nations with few friends amongst juries or televoters, who won big through the strength of their song or stage show. Bravi to all three. Bulgaria has emerged as a powerhouse in the making having beaten their personal record twice on the trot with Poli and now Kristian. It’ll be interesting to see if it’ll be third time lucky to bring the contest to Sofia - and if the other two countries can build on their success last year.

◆ While we are mentioning political voting, however, that ugly beast did raise its head a number of times this year. Audible boos were heard when Cyprus and Greece embarked upon their annual exchange of douzes, but I wonder if that is more cultural than political. What I found lamentable was the overtly political voting of Azerbaijan and Armenia, who put each other last once again - and the former even put Cyprus second last thanks in no small part to the Cypriot being ethnic Armenian and pals with Artsvik.

My particular award for “how unprofessional can you get?” goes to the Bulgarian jury, which tried to sink their closest rivals - giving no points to the much-vaunted Italians, placing Portugal’s Salvador just a few places below last and giving extremely lowball scores to Belgium, the latter countries that did very well in the televote. Juries on the whole made some very curious choices and seem to be less scrupulous than the televoters in many ways.

◆ They seem to have favourites year in, year out - Sweden may never slip from the top 5 thanks to jurors’ lip service, and the most curious thing is their continued obsession with Australia, who would have not qualified from the semis were it up to the televoters alone - and received a humiliating two points from them in the final. More conspiracy-prone individuals may wonder if jurors are being encouraged to award Oz so that it has decent enough results to keep in the competition. On the other hand, their lowball scores to very musically meritorious entries like that of Hungary, who entered the top 10 mostly on the strength of its televotes. It feels like the juries do not know on what criteria they are judging.

◆ At least this year should be controversy free as there was a convergence on the top 2 candidates, with both televoters and jurors agreeing that the best song was Portugal’s and the second best Bulgaria’s. It’s the first time that the jury hasn’t overriden the public vote for 3 years, and the first time ever since the introduction of this 50/50 system that they agree on both winner and runner-up. After two years of scandals and angry televoters, that can only be good for the contest. Unfortunately, there are some “fans” living in a world of alternative facts who claim it was a hoax. I feel sorry for them not being able to acknowledge the win of a country who’s waited so long to dispel their bad luck.

◆ Portugal’s win was the ultimate revindication of using your own language at the Eurovision, but not the only one. Italy did not soar to its expected heights, but got into the combined top 10, as did the tour de force from Joci Pápai, which showed that bilingual songs in which neither language is English can work! (My boss and some of my students ended up singing jáloma loma for the rest of the week xD.) The televoters, once again, show themselves much more open to other languages than many jurors: they would also have elevated the bilingual and bipolar entry from Croatia into the top 10 alongside France, making half the songs in the top 10 featuring another language than English partially or entirely - not a bad figure when that means 5 of the 7 songs featuring another language got into the televoters’ top 10, with Belarus not far behind. Will the qualification and relative success of all the non-English songs finally dispel the myth that one must sing in English to do well? I truly hope so.

◆ A less positive thing to remember the year for was the numerous fiascos at national final level. Spain screwed over its televoters by having the jury pick the winner rather than the public in the event of a tie - the opposite of what happened when Brequette and Ruth Lorenzo were tied some years prior. There were only 5 national finals this year where the public had 100% of the say at all stages - dwarved by the 9 national finals where jurors overrode the televoters’ top choice. It was a bad year for democracy at the national finals, and resulted in a number of “unloved” candidates who could not count on their country’s support.

Part 5 - Aussie Sausage Dairy.

Note : all the stories I wrote are true :) happy reading !

I’ve been pretty busy with life recently. Didn’t really have the mood for hookup. But I always like to share my sexual experience to people I chat with vise versa as much as I like to hear about theirs as well. Typically : The first time and the best ones :)

For me I’m actually having a hard time picking which one was the best, Previously in Part 2 I shared about Calvin the Chinese hunk with a Shih Tzu stole my heart, definitely a boyfriend material and A grade fuck buddy lol. Well this time in Part 5 I would call it one of my Wildest Adventures.

it was 2 years ago I could recall. I was 18 and horny.

It was a Friday night. Desperately wanted a dick right up in my ass. Shaved my ass, cleaned my hole, put on my Hugo Boss cologne, wore a super revealing singlet (my nipples are exposed on the side if I move too much) and a super short shorts, comb my hair nicely, chewing eclipse mints make sure that my breath smells nice.

Off I went. Took a ride to the city center of Kuala Lumpur. Pavillion alone. Found myself in Tom Dick’s and Harry Bar, ordered a pint of Carlsberg, scrolling through JackD and Grinder hoping to encounter someone decent for hookup but it seems like ladyluck wasn’t on my side tonight. Most of them were staying with friends, busy or just not my type. I was depressed and disappointed obviously I came here with an objective which was clearly to have a fine dick right up in my ass. Thank god he heard my prayer lol.

A fine ass looking Caucasian caught my attention when he walked into the bar. He’s 6 Feet Tall (180cm+), Broad Shoulder with dark brown hair, that’s all I could remember the details of him. He was in a suit with a loosen tie ( I guess he just got off from work and came for drink) I was staring at him the whole time since his arrival. He was looking at me at one point, I smiled at him :) He stood up took his drink and moving towards my direction. (you cannot imagine how excited I was in that moment.) I was in Cloud 9.

Hot Guy : Mind if I buy you a drink ?

Me : hello sure. I’m alone anyway. :)

We were sitting by the Bar on the high chairs drinking and just introducing each other and found out that he was actually from Australia and he came here for working purpose and he’s flying back tomorrow afternoon. Until he hit that jackpot question.

Leonard : anyway. What are you doing here alone by the bar in this hour ? is it common for an 18 to drink here

Me : Well I could give you the answer on your bed if you wanna know what am I doing here in this hour :)

Leonard : (Chuckles) you’re pretty straightforward little boy . I like that. I’ll go get the bill.

Me : alright. Be right back, I’ll head to the washroom.

Washing my drunk face in the washroom. Chewing to my eclipse, looking in the mirror telling myself don’t screw this up. Thinking a way of impressing him so I went in to one of the toilet cubicle and I took off my underwear and I put in inside my man pouch.

I had about 3 pints of beer and I wasn’t drunk, just a little tipsy as we were heading towards his hotel Pullman in a walking distance.

Leonard : So do you do this often ? you don’t look like its your first time.

Me : (Chuckles) Believe it or not its actually my first time looking for hook up in a bar. I guess lady luck was on my side after all.  How old are you btw ?

Lenaord : I’m 45.

Me : That’s not a funny joke. You look like late 20′s instead of 45 !

(I Swear he don’t look like 45!, I never fuck with a man in his 40′s btw)

As we reached the hotel. We were in the elevator just the 2 of us he was standing behind me. And it started. He sneaked his left hand from behind right into my shorts touching my bubble butt. We both were shocked for god sake. I didn’t expect him to do that in the elevator.

Leonard : fuck boy where’s your undies ? (Laughing)

Me : I think I lost it somewhere. Maybe its on your bed ? (smirks)

As I undress myself in his room we started kissing slowly and passionately. Until he went shirtless I swear his body was priceless. Firm chest with broad shoulders I worship it immediately touching it and licking his hard nipples. He knew I love his chest when I couldn’t stop worshiping it.  From the chest slowly right down to his hard Aussie Sausage. It was HUGE. It was longer than 5inch (12cm+) and its thick. As I stroke it I when next to his ear and whisper.

Me : Can I call you Daddy ? (whispering softly)

Leonard : anything for you Baby Boy.

Me : Am I allowed to suck it ? (whispering softly)

Leonard :  show me what you got boy.

Me ; Yes daddy.

His hard dick was huge that I couldn’t suck it all the way through, he likes me sucking his dick obviously from the head to the balls making it wet with my saliva. Sucking his dick while by tongue is doing the job on the inside. Again. I used the ace up my sleeves. Swirling his dickhead with my tongue like drawing a circle. he was impressed :)

Leonard : oh boy you’re good at blowjobs even better than my boyfriend.

Me : well I hope he wasn’t jealous. (smiling)

As we switch position I found my ass facing his face as he rims me it felt so good especially when I shaved my ass so it would be smooth. He likes it alot licking my hole and spanking me lightly as I moan. We were in 69 Position where I was sucking his big dick while he was enjoying my pink hole. He took the lube and started to loosen my tight hole gently. I love it when my top takes the time to lube my hole as I moan softly. He wore a condom and I started riding his dick all the way through. I’ve never felt so good. While riding his big dick I rest my hands on his chest and play with his nipple he was moaning as well.

Leonard : Fuck you. Yes baby boy

I was just moaning the whole time and make sure my hips are moving up and down to make us feel good. Switching position time to time from Military to Doggy to Standing and against the bathroom mirror.

I was leaning against the bathroom’s basin facing the mirror moaning as he fucks my hole from behind with his left hands on my shoulder and right hands on my hips pounding my hole gently making sure that I moan like his slut. My dick was hard as fuck and my precum was leaking all over the bathroom floor.

Leonard : enjoying the view of me fucking you ?

Me : yes Daddy fuck you’re so hot. Can I cum now ?

Leonard : I’m close too cum for me Baby.

Me : Im cumming ! (Cum all over the floor it was a mess)

Leonard : fuck ! I’m close kneel down I wanna cum on your cute face.

As I kneel down quickly looking into his eyes with his huge dick wanking infront of me removing the condom and there it is. With his babies all over my face and body. It was surreal. Mind blowing indeed.

Me : Can I stay for the night ? its 3am now if you dont mind.

Leonard : As if I am going to allow a cute boy leaving on his own in this hour. bunk in with me tonight. Don’t worry I’m dead tired couldn’t start a second round even if you want too (chuckles)

It was heart warming of him to do that. Most of the guys would just ask me to leave or fetch me home after the sex. The next morning we had breakfast together, took him to have some local food nearby and he was cute because he couldnt stand the heat from the Curry sauce for the Naan.

He gave me some money for the Cab (which was way more than enough) but I refused to accept. We part ways every since then. xoxo

—————————————–

“Helluva way to spend a birthday….”

Bucky shakes his head, grumbles low for just the two of you before sighting through his scope for the umpteenth time.   Away in the middle distance nothing moves.  Not a bird.  Not a cavy.  Not even one of Darwin’s blue grey foxes Tony was so enthused about.  So far a bust.  If Xisis was planning on making his final move he was taking his sweet time about it.

A low hiss of angry steaming sigh leaks out.  Nothing—you’ve both got nothing–just like the last ten times you’ve checked.  Reluctantly Bucky hunkers down, uses the jut of rock that forms your blind to shelter from the wind.  The March air might be warm but the swirl whipping across the poa grass is strong.  Grit flies with every gust.

It makes you itch to clean the barrel of your gun.

Cracked Eggs

“Daddy! Daddy look! I found another one!”

Lisa ran up to me, holding the white and pink printed egg. I laughed and held the basket forward. “Good job, pumpkin! That makes how many now?”

For a few seconds, Lisa counted up each one before she straightened herself and beamed.

“Six! I found six!”

“That’s right! That’s my smart girl!”

And there were still dozens more it appeared.

Ever since I was a kid, our church has done an egg hunt. Some years it would be lucky if there was five or six little ones popping about searching for egg shaped goodies, but this year there was decently large group. I think there was around maybe fifteen or twenty kids, all under the age of eight, running around the church green. Eggs were positively everywhere this year, from plain sight on the green to hidden in the garden that was donated as according to Ms. Louis’ will. She’d always appreciated the love of God through nature, and a garden was the best she could do.

The Beholder is the best idea Gary Gygax ever had and nobody can be assed to say why. I’ve seen people agonize over the Beholder, trying to improve on the overall model, and it’s never worked for me. Thing is, you can’t deliberately improve a monster until you have a working theory for why it worked in the first place, and I couldn’t have told you what makes Beholders good until like a couple of days ago.

If you are still doing the dialogue prompts could you possibly do #98 nessian?

Sorry for the delay! I’m not gonna lie, this was a marathon to write. The feels kept taking control and taking me in complete opposite directions to which I planned. But I did it. Some feels were taken out but I’ll keep those tucked away for later. Hope you like it.

Nessian: All nighter, you and me. First one to fall asleep buys the other dinner.

Cassian had noticed that Nesta wasn’t sleeping.

She would stay up reading or doing menial tasks long after everyone else had gone to bed. Cassian only knew because he saw her when he wandered the house to relieve the aches in his wings. His wings had healed enough that visually the only thing different were the thin scars that now peppered the thin membrane. But on the inside, in a more physical sense, they were almost utterly unusable. At the moment he could only fly for five minutes, if he was lucky.

Cassian also knew it was nightmares that kept her awake. Because some nights he would find her sprawled on the couch, book fallen from her hands, and her brow would be furrowed and eyelids fluttering. It was in those moments that Cassian would take one of her slender hands in his and softly murmur her name. If she came close to waking he would flee like a coward, but Cassian knew it would crush Nesta to know someone had seen her so vulnerable.

Tonight though Cassian was the one staying up. Rhys had given him a task that was both extensive and urgent. With Feyre feeding more and more information to Azriel’s contacts and the battle with Hybern looming closer and closer, they needed every soldier that they could get. That included the female Illyrian’s. Rhys needed Cassian to come up with training regimes and incentives and just about everything else related to the matter. Immediately.

So now he sat in one of the large sitting rooms in the House of Wind on a couch in front of the fire, papers in his lap going over and adding to them. He hadn’t chosen this particular room by chance. This was the one that Nesta most often ended up in.

A little while later an incredulous snort announced Nesta’s arrival. She ignored him, really Cassian was surprised that she didn’t turn in the other direction and walk out. But she didn’t. Nesta just ignored Cassian completely and sat in an arm chair, facing away from him a book in her hand. Cassian let out a heavy sigh. She didn’t react, just kept her concentration on the book. Cassian sighed again dramatically and Nesta barely turned her head. Cassian took in a deep breath to sigh again but before he could a cold sharp voice stopped him.

“Don’t.”

Cassian smiled, “Whatever do you mean?”

“I know you’re there,” there was something hollow in Nesta’s voice that made the smile fall from his face, “so I don’t need you reminding me.”

“What else am I supposed to do when you choose to ignore me anyway?”

“You could leave,” Nesta’s voice was sharp as an Illyrian blade.

“Communal space Sweetheart. You can’t claim this entire room.”

Nesta sent a vulgar gesture halfheartedly over her shoulder and Cassian gave a small chuckle. But he knew something was wrong here, but he wasn’t sure how to get Nesta to talk about it. Silence now spread between them, neither of them making any attempt to break it. Cassian wanted to say something, broach this space between them, but when they spoke it was aggressive as they tore strips from each other. But now was not the time for that. If Cassian’s wings were… were what they had been, he would take her flying. Take her out into the open air and let her breathe in the sheer amount of space that flying gave him. The cold night air, the space, the freedom always made him feel better. But two minutes of flying, that would just be pathetic.

A heavy sigh made its way past Cassian’s lips and and Nesta’s head snapped up. Cassian quickly shut his mouth when he realised his mistake. He chanced a look at her face, well what he could see from where he sat, and even from his restricted view he could see her signature steely expression once again graced her face.

“Just so you know that sigh was entirely for my benefit,” Cassian said quickly.

“What possible benefits do you get from sighing?” Nesta asked.

“Well, it releases tension,” Cassian explained. “My thoughts had led to to a issue that I currently have no power to resolve. So the sigh…”

“I got it Cassian,” Nesta snapped, but it still seemed to lack its usual bite.

“Can’t say all my tension was released though,” Cassian said with a smirk. “Care to help me out with the rest?”

Nesta snorted, “You’re a pig.”

“Best looking pig you’ve ever seen. Am I right?”

“You are ridiculous.”

Cassian chuckled. Here they were. Where they always were. They we at that impasse where Cassian was willing to give everything but Nesta was going to accept nothing. Cassian sighed again.

Okay so I freely admit my knowledge of history absolutely sucks so this will sound stupid but - is communism a good thing or a bad thing??? I'm asking because I see SOOOOOO many conflicting ideas coming from people and everyone ends up contradicting each other, it seems like tumblr is very pro-communism but at the same time there are people on here who are absolutely disgusted with tumblr's "pro-communism" ideas and at the same time people praise Karl Marx and I'm just confused sorry.

okay, thing is, you have to make two distinctions. there’s theoretical communism and applied-in-the-real-world communism, and when it comes to theoretical communism, one thing is marx (which is why marxism is a thing and stalinism is another) and another are other communists who interpreted his thought often for political reasons. now I once had replied to a post on the topic which I never posted to avoid extra wank but I have it in my drafts let me see if I can c/p it… yeah okay no but maybe I can reuse parts of it.

anyway: communism is originally marx’s theory/system. marx conceived it in a society that was ALREADY CAPITALIST and its entire idea was destroying the aforementioned capitalist society which was founded on inequality and exploiting workers (like if you read the capital, it has chapters dedicated to child labor and how horrible it is just to mention one). communism is a philosophical and economical THEORY which does indeed look good on paper, its problem is that at most you could make it viable in small communities because it implies that everyone must be on board with it to make it work, that corruption doesn’t exist, that people do automatically their best for the others and the community/collectivity and a lot of other things that literally can’t coexist when your problem is basic human nature. never mind that marx’s system was based entirely on the situation in industrialized nations during the second industrial revolution and it’s entirely tied in that historical timeframe and it doesn’t take reading the capital for that, and now we’ve gone past that. never mind that not all nations go through what the UK did during the second industrial revolution. we’re past the second industrial revolution. marx’s system is not viable in reality because not many places are in those same conditions. never mind that marx himself knew that perfectly - ie, there’s a part in the communist manifesto which goes:

We have seen above, that the first step in the revolution by the working class is to raise the proletariat to the position of ruling class to win the battle of democracy. The proletariat will use its political supremacy to wrest, by degree, all capital from the bourgeoisie, to centralise all instruments of production in the hands of the State, i.e., of the proletariat organised as the ruling class; and to increase the total productive forces as rapidly as possible. Of course, in the beginning, this cannot be effected except by means of despotic inroads on the rights of property, and on the conditions of bourgeois production; by means of measures, therefore, which appear economically insufficient and untenable, but which, in the course of the movement, outstrip themselves, necessitate further inroads upon the old social order, and are unavoidable as a means of entirely revolutionising the mode of production.

These measures will, of course, be different in different countries. Nevertheless, in most advanced countries, the following will be pretty generally applicable. (….) When, in the course of development, class distinctions have disappeared, and all production has been concentrated in the hands of a vast association of the whole nation, the public power will lose its political character.

Political power, properly so called, is merely the organised power of one class for oppressing another. If the proletariat during its contest with the bourgeoisie is compelled, by the force of circumstances, to organise itself as a class, if, by means of a revolution, it makes itself the ruling class, and, as such, sweeps away by force the old conditions of production, then it will, along with these conditions, have swept away the conditions for the existence of class antagonisms and of classes generally, and will thereby have abolished its own supremacy as a class. In place of the old bourgeois society, with its classes and class antagonisms, we shall have an association, in which the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all.

now, why did I bold exactly those parts? because the last one states that communism’s eventual target is everyone living in an equalitarian union, and the second is to show that according to marx communism could be a thing IN ADVANCED COUNTRIES. industrially.

and here we arrive to practiced communism which is our problem. because thing is, communism on paper is great - equality! no one is exploited! everyone contributes as they can how much they can! no classism! - but in practice, it has never been introduced in nations that were already capitalist. it’s mostly been countries that either had a strong agricultural/rural economy or came from centuries of dictatorships/monarchy, which means that regardless of how much communism is viable as a way of life or not, it wouldn’t and couldn’t have been applied there the way it was supposed to because those weren’t capitalist countries. you can’t have a communist society without capitalism first. period. and when you try to merge the two you have today’s china which is basically the worst of the two systems put together, never mind that if you look at mao’s CV, the cultural revolution and the likes it doesn’t sound to me that it’s the best way of life for everyone as marx put it. (and to add to that by the way, just the exploitation of workers in china that allows us to buy for ridiculous cheap from there is the most anti-communist thing anyone could ever conceive. and I’m just mentioning one thing.)

when **communism** has been implemented in both russia and china and everywhere else it was a thing, it was never a capitalist country. add that as I stated above in order for it to work it means EVERYONE IS ON BOARD and the people in charge don’t exploit it and you have a recipe for disaster, because if you look at it everywhere it was implemented, regardless of how much they might have started decently, it turned into a dictatorship not long later.

so this whole ‘shit happened in communist countries and people died but communism is still AMAZING’ topic is ridiculous because thing is, if one grasps the spirit, the entire point of communism as an utopian society (because that’s basically the outcome of that at the end of it) is having a society of equals where everyone contributes for what they can, there are no injustices like in capitalist society and your worth as a person isn’t put after your capacity to produce money for someone else. any so-called communist system calling itself communist and allowing people to die/oppressing its citizens/exploiting workers’ labor without allowing them to have unions/creating gulags/silencing disagreeing opinions is inherently a system that marx would have loathed because it goes against everything he wanted out of his vision. like, especially exploiting workers’ labor. that’s the reason why historically why most unions were communist/socialist when unions started being a thing. never mind that marx called for criticizing the status quo/people in power who exploited it, which should automatically suggest that most people who praise communist regimes aren’t really marxist.

(now we could also discuss over how both communism and capitalism taken in their purist form don’t benefit anyone except the people in power and so the best way is midway, because capitalism does have good aspects same as communism does, and actually the reason communism was groundbreaking in its historical moment was because it put attention on the need for equality and better working conditions when most poor people were exploited by the upper class. theoretical communism advocated a world where everyone contributes according to their own capacities and doesn’t end up sacrificing themselves on the altar of factory work, and that’s not what has happened until now in real life. taking the best from either system is what actually does work all things considered - counteracting 100% bonafide capitalism with 100% bonafide communism, which by the way can’t exist today, is fried air, as we say in italy.)

so, at this point the thing is: if you’re anti-communism meaning COMMUNISM THE WAY IT HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN THE REAL WORLD then you have a point or ten because most times it has betrayed its own roots (really, marx would have been horrified at basically everything **communist** regimes have implemented) and it has been a tool of oppression/communist dictators have killed thousands of people same as their fascist counterparts and so on. at the same time, if you like marx then you like COMMUNISM AS A CONCEPT THE WAY IT WAS ORIGINALLY INTENDED, as in, you like the idea of a society where everyone is equal and not exploited as above. it’s two completely different things - personally I love the idea of communism as marx presented it but I know it’s not viable and I wouldn’t say that stalin or mao were amazing people TM just because they were **communist** (tbh today’s china is like the most un-marxist thing ever soooo). and at the same time I’ll feel free to praise marx to the heavens because he was a genius, came up with an amazing philosophical system which then started irl a lot of good things ie workers’ unions as above and gave the left an ideology to aspire to and because he didn’t advocate for genocide, while I absolutely loathe most applications of communism irl (and in most cases when communist ideals work out it’s in *socialist* countries, not communist ones).

we can also add that kids on tumblr being pro communism most of the time just read ‘communism = equality’ and think OMG AWESOME when they haven’t read marx or a history book so they don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about so let’s not even count them into the discussion. but never mind.

tldr: communism as a theory/political ideology the way it was conceived was a good thing and is still a good thing if you take the good parts from it (tbh the US could totally do with some more marxism especially when it comes to reviving workers’ unions, striking when you want things and the likes), never mind that in western countries that were under the US influence post WWII and in european countries pre-WWI communist parties were generally the ones protecting workers/their rights to strike and pushing for leftist policies along with the socialist ones. communism as an actually applied system in the real world is almost always a bad thing because it’s not what marx conceived, it betrays its own roots and I can only understand people who grew up under the ussr when it was a thing (or eastern europe) who loathe communism since a communist regime was what fucked their countries over. (that’s also valid for places like cambodia and NORTH KOREA I mean in theory north korea is *communist* but there’s literally nothing communist about NK.) we can argue about cuba for the next century or so since when it comes to it there’s pros and cons (ie: castro was a dictator? yes, not good, not communist. everyone getting free healthcare and instruction including curing people from other countries? yes, good, marx would have approved. and so on.), but even if you consider cuba the only place where it sort of worked (sort of, because if you ask people who flew cuba they certainly don’t agree and really it’s so complicated only people who studied the situation for years or live there could give an opinion), cuba has eleven million inhabitants and it’s not CHINA or the former USSR, which makes it fairly more manageable to govern. same as I said above: it maybe sort of POSSIBLY worked out not somewhat in a small country. in large countries it’s just not a thing you can reasonably conceive.

so: some people praise marx because marx said a lot of good things, but being uncritically pro-communist means ignoring that communism when implemented (successfully-ish or not) has caused a lot of harm and isn’t that much different from other regimes, and that what marx preached was good for his historical moment and time, not for us, because the second industrial revolution is that and gone. never mind that people who come from communist regimes that hurt their nations or were political dissenters have all rights to be anti-communist, since as stated when applied irl it’s not what marxism preaches. and that said if you praise marx then you should criticize all of the irl applications of communism because marx would balk at pretty much 99% of what *communist* countries ended up being. but like there’s a lot of good in what marx says and that’s why some people say they’re communists - because they like it as a concept and want to make reality what they can of it, not because they approve of stalinism.

hopefully it was clear. xD

Every episode of season two of Legends seems to have at least one (usually more) joke about Mick's intelligence or usefulness. This didn't happen nearly as often in season one. Each character has done it now, even the genuinely good and kind ones you wouldn't expect this from like Jax, Ray, and Nate. It's not like Mick has been incompetent. He was useful with Washington and in the last episode. Do you think this is leading up to something for when Len returns? Or is it all just comic relief?

No, season 1 was really different. Ray had issues with Mick’s morality but wasn’t so likely disparage his (anyone’s) intellect. Martin was always a dick to everyone in his own special way, but didn’t call Mick an idiot really, certainly not so often or bluntly. Sara had no issue with Mick, it seemed. Jax was always chill with him, barring the whole ‘criminal’ thing. The only one who really put him down as ‘thick’ or ‘IQ of meat’ was Rip, in S1. And even then, Rip would agree with him when he had points (like about Druce wanting to kill Rip in that forest) and defer to Mick’s better judgement without making a huge production of it.

S2, like you said, obviously different. Literally everyone has made comments, or multiple. He keeps displaying an amazing amount of competence and keeps getting shit on for it. From finding them all through history (with Nate, of course, but Mick did the piloting), to defeating a bunch of ninjas single-handedly to actually building rapport with the enemy of the week in the old west (they could have used that instead of starting a brawl omg), to saving Washington (and the United States in the process) to coming up with plans to taking charge and owning it in the Capone era to taking out an entire army in Camelot 3000 with just his mind

Mick kicks ass.

He’s literally never been incompetent in any way, shape, or form on the team. I’ve been pointing out since season 1 that he’s probably the most skilled of them all (barring maybe Rip) in terms of what their journey demands (here’s a decent overview with in-line links to other posts all about Mick’s skill and intellect).

So… ugh. I’ve complained about it a lot, how the team seems to be incapable of recognizing and respecting that. I won’t link the posts – they’re plentiful though, in my Mick Rory tag.

But I do think you might have a point. It’s been something I’m pondering.

At first I thought they were creating a split-team rift. I thought they were going to have Ray and Mick get close, him get close to Amaya too, but maybe feel more distant from Sara (and Rip, upon return) and maybe Martin too? So that when Len showed back up, Mick was going to have this tension between the members of the team he wanted to protect vs. those he didn’t feel so close with, so that going with Len was a real, genuine dilemma for him. So I didn’t think the comments would really take off with the whole team.

But then they did and now… well, my honest suspicion? They changed the story starting after 2x04. My best guess is that Mick won’t be around next season (Dominic Purcell is vocal on social media about disliking Vancouver and missing his family) and so they realized that the stories they were building with him couldn’t be carried forward. So they swapped major parts of those stories (closeness and budding romance with Amaya, close friendship/partnership with Ray) over to Nate instead (which I argue doesn’t work as well for character dynamics but w/e). I can’t say this is really the case, obviously, but it feels that way if you look at what they were building and then how it started to change and what abruptly got dropped or added.

As a consequence of that, they decided that Mick’s dilemma isn’t going to be so tough after all. He’s going to be crapped on by the team a lot and eventually start to show that he’s getting fed up with it, instead of taking it so much in stride (look at how he stood up to Sara’s orders in Camelot, basically ready to throw down, or how he bent Ray’s arm for poking him about crumbs, compared to how he didn’t mind Rip complaining about his stealing stuff in France in 2x01). So then the dilemma of going along with Len wouldn’t seem like such a difficult decision. He’s going to go with Len, hands down. He’s under-appreciated by the team and he’s going to peace out.

Wishful thinking version? The team is going to realize they’ve made a grave mistake and end up in a dire situation and Mick’s going to cave enough to help save the day, and then he’s going to be done for good with the Legends and return to Central City with Len. In a perfect world, they’re then going to use some of the knowledge and skills (and allies, like Reverse Flash) they’ve gained in order to really start the Rogues. The Rogues become a major part of Flash season 4. My crops are watered and my skin is clear.

I mean, it’s a little far-fetched but that’s how I would write it, personally.

More realistically, they’re still going to show some serious dilemma for Mick and the team aren’t ever going to be properly reprimanded or remorseful over the shitty way they’ve treated Mick, and the writers are doing it at least a little for the sake of humor, because a lot of those lines have seemed like they’re trying to be comedic (unlike Rip and Mick’s blowout with the pirates), even if they fall totally flat.

But eh. At least for one moment, someone recognized his value.

Top Twelve Favorite Uranium Pokemon

After I posted my review of Uranium, I felt bad because I don’t think I highlighted the good fakemon enough and spent a lot of time discussing the bad ones. So I wanted to show off some of the coolest ones I ran across in the game. This favorites list is based on the design and concept of the pokemon and not necessarily their stats or abilities.

Apologies for a few of these pics looking a bit janky and weird, I need to still evolve/catch those in my save game before taking proper screencaps.

1.) Linkite

Pretty sure this is my favorite fakemon of the whole game. It has simple, striking imagery. It’s clearly a ghost-type based on the Substitute doll; the idea behind it is that it is the spirit of a pokemon that died while in its pokeball. It’s a dark idea without going too overboard, and it’s quite creepy and disturbing and just darn clever. Wanted to use in my playthrough but stats are super-bad and only way it can evolve is via trading, which I couldn’t do with my copy of the game at the time.

2.) Metalynx

While I do not care for the look of the Water and Fire starters, nor do I think much of Metalynx’s pre-evolution, I feel Metalynx itself is an excellent design. It’s unqiue and creative, and looks quite badass, and it served me well in my playthrough. I have noted elsewhere I think the floral pattern on his back looks a bit out-of-place and silly (I assume it was an attempt to tie in the whole ‘he’s a grass type, really!’ thing) but that’s my only little nitpick. The Mega form is quite nice too.

3.) Nucleon

The pokemon itself is very overpowered with its ability (Atomizate, like Pixelate but with Nuclear typing) + Hyper Voice, especially with a choice scarf, so it can actually be pretty boring to use. I’m also a bit miffed I didn’t teach my Eevee Shadow Ball before it evolved into Nucleon, because in terms of non-Normal/Nuclear Special moves, Shadow Ball really is the best. But Nucleon can’t learn it, only Eevee can. I had to stick with flippin’ Hidden Power.

Anyway! Point is, the design is very beautiful.

4.) Gargryph

l really love the concept behind this poke. When you visit the town you get one from, there are these statues all over the place and only later do you discover they’re alive. They’re obviously based on gargoyles, (or a ‘grotesque’ if you wanna be pedantic) specifically one that looks like a griffin. It’s actually really surprising Pokemon has never had anything resembling a griffin before. That’s a shame, because they’re really cool mythical beasts. This pokemon has a cool Ability called Rebuild, which restores a little HP if it wasn’t hit by an attack that turn. It complements a walling-pokemon style very nicely, especially one with Protect that carries Leftovers to maximize that recovery.

Unfortunately, this guy’s only good stat is its physical defense. Being a pure Rock type, it’s weak to so many special attacks it’s pretty damn difficult to use it effectively. But I still like the idea behind it as a walling/support poke, even if I could never get it to work. The sprite looks surprisingly really nice, too! One of the best in the game.

5.) Navighast

This is a Ghost/Fighting type, based on undead/cursed pirates. My first impression (its pre-evos are Swabone and Skelerogue) was that it looked too similar to Cubone/Marowak. And there are indeed strong similarities. But as it evolves it becomes more and more unique from that, and the idea behind it is different and really cool. The game features a rivalry between sea-faring ninjas and pirates, so some of the pokemon reflect that theme, this being the pirate-side of things. And who couldn’t love a pirate-themed pokemon? Besides, the typing combo is admittedly very fun.

6.) Firoke

This game has three lines of bug types that are closely related and become entwined in a truly awesome subplot. Obviously you can guess this is right up my alley– that subplot was my favorite part of the game. Of the three elemental bug lines, I would say Smore/Firoke ended up with the best design. It’s also quite exciting to have a Fire/Bug type (only one of those in real pokemon), and a red ant is perfect for that. Its sprite is also the least weird-looking of the bugs and actually quite decent.

7.) Stenowatt

It be an electric raptor. What more do I need to say? :P I love the color combination and the design. Also feathered dinos make me happy.

8.) Empirilla

This game includes some fan-made evolutions of real pokemon. This ‘lil fellah is actually pretty neat, and prob. my favorite of the evolutions from real pokes. I never much liked Primeape, and Empirilla looks way neater to me, so it’s an improvement in my mind. It also relates back to the original designs well.

9.) Baaschaf

This black sheep is perhaps understated in its strength, as the design is nothing extreme or dramatic. Rather, it’s just a very solid design. It fits into the pokemon universe well, and differentiates itself just fine from Mareep’s line.

10.) Raffiti

So, yes, this is absolutely a Smeargle clone. But that’s OK because it’s BETTER than Smeargle’s design, which I never liked, haha. Also its stats are better than Smeargle’s, too. Plus it’s pure Dark type! That’s pretty neat.

11.) Geigeroach

Obviously my bug bias is clear here. But, c’mon. Nuclear cockroach. I would have been gravely disappointed if such a thing wasn’t included in the game. I should point out the thing is nigh impossible to actually use in battle; dual Something/Nuclear types always carry a buttload of x2 and x4 weaknesses, due to the nature of Nuclear typing, and if you combine that with a type that already has a lot of weaknesses, it’s only making it worse. Its stats are also poopy. So, yeah, you ain’t using this guy. But DANG DUDE the design is cool.

12.) Lavent

The stats are underwhelming, but I appreciate that this one’s based off geothermal vents and giant tube worms. An area that was just begging for a pokemon, honestly!

Honorable Mentions:

These are pokemon you can receive as eggs, either from an NPC or from the local Pokemon Professor for dex progress. I’m only placing them as HMs because I didn’t know about them until post-game, but they really are among the coolest designs.

Gellin

This thing reminds me so much of an Ultra Beast. (I’m pretty sure these were designed well before Sun/Moon was a thing.) After all, Ultra Beasts look … super weird and not like typical pokemon at all. It’s really damn hard to define exactly what an Ultra Beast looks like. But that *point* that thing does. It also has a weird unexpected type combo the way a lot of Ultra Beasts do– this one is Grass/Electric.

Luxelong & Oblivicorn

The Dragon/Fairy Luxelong and the Fairy unicorn line that can lead to the Normal Kiricorn or the Dark Oblivicorn are both damn cool, and it’s kind of a shame I didn’t know about them until it was too late. I guess it’s motivation for the post-game, if I get around to it!

Momo Coffee!:: 9/22/2016

Hey Guys! As promised, I rushed my ass over to Momo Coffee today with my friend! It took us about 50 minutes by subway from where we came from, but it was totally worth it! Here are some (hopefully) useful directions for those who want to visit the cafe in the future! I totally recommend it~

1. You will need to make your way to Indeogwon (Line 4, Light Blue). Take Exit 8

2.Once you are out in the open, keep going straight. Like if the main road where the cars drive are in front of you, take the right way. Towards the buildings. Imagine you are in first person with the pictures

3. Follow the road for about 5-8 minutes I’ll post some landmarks so you can know you are going the right way. The last two pictures are across the road.

4. You will see a pathway on your right surrounded by beautiful nature (its so calm and collected in this area, unlike where my campus is) Take that pathway. You will definitely see Momo coffee.

5. You’ve made it! Welcome to Momo Coffee!

When I went there, it was a Thursday afternoon. We weren’t sure if they cafe was even open, but the main doors are a little on the right side of the building. You will see the board that Wonho wrote for the cafe!

There was a nice lady in there. I’m pretty sure it was his mother (I was way to shy and awkward to ask if she was though). Bless her soul for trying to understand my horrible Korean. The prices are quite decent for coffee and a slice of cake. They have a special Mondays to Fridays from 12PM to 2PM where you can get an Americano and cake for like 6,000w? I got the Cafe Mocha Iced and a cheesecake. The coffee was great! So was the cheesecake, but it was a little on the dense side, but it was still good!

On the side of the place you order, there is a small table full of CDs that other groups signed for the cafe!

There are also a bit of signed fan merch that Wonho signed. He marked Monbebe’s birthday!!! #ICriEverytime #ProtectMXAtAllCost

The shoes that Wonho wore in the Perfect Girl MV are also right there on the floor next to it!

There are Eevees and a Jolteon hanging on the window side, chilling.

There are also pictures of Wonho around the cafe, but I’ll let you guys see it for yourselves. I don’t want to give the whole cafe away :P

Overall, the place was super chill. Me and my friend basically had the whole cafe to ourselves. It’s a lot different from other cafes since its roomier and more open. I’m not saying this because Wonho has connections to the cafe either. There was wifi (idk if its for public use), but I couldn’t find the password :/ More people came right before we left, so that was good! There is also a Jokbal place (MoMo’s favorite food, coincidence?) I wish the cafe all the best! I will drag myself here just so I can enjoy the atmosphere and the coffee!

***I’m not going to watermark these pictures. Please use these so you can support Wonho and his mother’s cafe! I trust you guys not to misuse or claim these pictures as yours (I know you guys wouldn’t though!) If you guys repost this, please give credit! Maybe we could a meet up here if any of you guys want :) :) If you guys need more help to how to get here, contact me!

- all their friends cooed and haven’t let them live it down since.
- he’s the type to make embarrassingly bad dad jokes when talking to others and then looks over at their kid for a reaction
- a pitiful thumbs up and embarrassed smile is the best kind of reaction that he’s looking for
- constantly trying to talk to their kids friends when they’re over
- “why doesn’t that one friend come over anymore?” “because you broke out the baby pictures last time and i would rather not relive your hour ling stories about the past, and neither would she”

Seungkwan
- The emotional dad
- constantly crying
- oh my god their kids have never seen a grown man cry so much in their lives
- always reminiscing about their kids past and getting emotional about how big they’ve gotten
- at every graduation that the child has lives through theres always friends that make comment about his screaming once you get on stage
- every picture you have to commemorate this moment has a very red eyed blotchy faced Seungkwan, their child always looks less than impressed.
- it’s nice to have a dad so passionate about their child but sometimes you just need someone that wont cry because you’ve made your first purchase with your own money that you made from your first job

Seokmin
- The Scrapbooking Dad
- always insisting on taking pictures
- it doesnt matter the occasion, it doesn’t matter how relevant any of it is, he wants a picture and he wants it now.
- his kids could make those “365 pictures throughout the year” collage videos you find on the internet dating back to their toddler years just from how many pictures Seokmin had taken.
- he has a bookcase full of scrapbooks hes made
- he takes the time to decorate them, with pretty stickers and dates each picture with a short description of each.
- its not just a picture book, its a life story showcasing every little insignificant thing that his kids have accomplished since birth.
- “dad, can we please take that picture of me on the potty off?” “no, its the first time you took a shit and i didn’t have to clean a diaper, it’s staying for memory sake”

Seungcheol
- Over protective dad
- they cab only have a phone because he insists on using the find your friends app when his kids go out just to make sure that if anything happens he could always find their kid and help out
- if they’re one minute past curfew expect said phone to be blown up with questions about where they are.
- “you were suppose to be home at 10:00 its now 10:02, i checked traffic and it is light so there isnt any excuse”
- is protective and inforces his rules but isn’t terribly rude and would never actually punish his kids (he’s too soft, but ultimatey just wants the best for them)
- interogates any significant other that their child brings home, and as they protest in embarassment he simply says hes making sure to rule out any one not worthy of their time.
- always has their best interests in mind though they may not realize it until they’re much older
- probably has a bat near his bed so if needed he could protect them from anything and anyone who trys to hurt their kid

Jeonghan
- The Charming Dad
- all their kids friends are completely endeared by him
- they’ve heard the word DILF to describe him one too many times that its starting to take some effect on their mental wellbeing
- he’s able to talk himself out of many things and their kids have had to sit by idly as they watched their dad talk up another worker to attempt to get some sort of discount
- probably has pictures of the family around the house solely to show off how attractive all of them are when guest comes over
- he’s ultimately very proud of how beautiful his family has come out, and wants the world to know about how absurdly beautiful they are compared to other families.
- its not opinion its Fact.

Jihoon
- Passive but Encouraging Dad
- not very good at showing how much they love their kids but try their very hardest without having to say directly that he loves them
- shows he cares by encouraging their dreams and never tries to hold them back from their dreams
- he may not be very involved in their kids lifes but when they come to him with something they claim to be passionate about he’s suddenly #1 dad.
- he’ll always be the first to encourage them to chase after whatever they want
- and even if they drop it after a couple weeks because it wasn’t exactly the right fit Jihoon will accept it and continue to support them through any other projects they wished to pursue.
- their kids know that he loves them through those kind of actions.

Mingyu
- The Expirmentive Dad
- always trying out new recipes for dinner
- his kids have started becoming wary after the his few failed attempts and know to prepare something to eat afterwards just incase his experiment doesnt work out in his favour
- never follows a reciepe
- “dad it said a tea spoon not a cup” “it’s better this way, just trust me.”
- it was not better this way.
- he tries his very hardest to make good dishes for his family and sometimes they actually turn out decent.
- and when they dont, no matter if mingyu himself knows it wasn’t the best, his kids say it was good while only eating a couple bites of it
- he’s grateful that they eat the prepared foods somewhere that hes not (sometimes he goes to their room and they share their snacks with him, but thats only when he’s failed terribly and hes gone desperate)

Chan
- The Involved dad
- Their child is apart of a school club? he’ll be apart of it just as much.
- “Do you guys want me to make snacks?” “Dad its not necessary-” “i’ll pack snacks.”
- always insists on going to parent teacher night to talk with each of their kids teacher one on one, he doesnt do it because he thinks his kids are miss behaving just solely for the opprotunity to be apart of their kids lifes just that much more
- was their kids soccer couch for most of their junior soccer days, but when their kids approached them about joining a different team he unwillingly allowed them to do so to allow them to be happy
- he still attenda each game and became the most embarrassing side line dad at the game
- “signs are necessary” chan ignores their kids as he pours another large amount of glitter onto the atrocious sign with his kids name and number on it.

Junhui
- The Teasing Dad
- constantly making jokes about their kid, it mostly happens when they have friends over or when theyre at a family get together
- some how always managing to make their child the center of attention at the family dinners, each family member taking turns to tease his kid.
- he definitely does not attempt to stop it because he was the one that started it and seeing his kids get all embarrassed is kind of a highlight to being a father.
- Is probably always trying to get a hug or affection from their child especially when friends are around just to embarrass them that much more
- He doesn’t mind being rejected in front of all their friends when he goes in for a hug, because the embarrassed hiden smile that his kid has when they turn back to apologize to their friend is enough of a reward

Jisoo
- The Overly-Loving Father
- he’s wanted to be a dad since he was a child and now that he’s able to do so he doesnt waste any opprotunity to remind his kid about how much he loves them
- sometimes he shows his love in materialistic manners
- he buys they loads of gifts for every special occasion and still insists on making them do an easter chocolate egg hunt well into their teenage years
- he gets really creative when it comes to things like this so their child doesnt really mind, the chocolate is always a bonus
- is always trying to get family outings to be a thing and his favourite holiday is family day. Definitely family day because he can use it as an excuse to force his kids to spend time with him.

Wonwoo
- The helpful dad
- the stereotype that dads are suppose to be good at physical labour such as fixing cars and doing sports falls short when it comes to wonwoo
- he couldn’t necessarily fix their car if they asked him to but he could help them ace their  physics exam
- and if they didn’t wish to read a book that was assigned for english, he’s probably already read it front to back more than once and is more than willing to help them out
- he’s not too anal about good grades but encourages them to try their hardest
- they’ve probably had to sit through a small half hearted lecture about genuinely putting their best into things when Wonwoo feels like their grades are slipping

Minghao
- The “I didn’t sign up for this” Dad
- never really meant to become a dad but it ??? sort of happened and he enjoys it he just was never ready to become one
- therefore he really doesn’t know what to do.
- during toddler years he’d make any excuse not to be alone with the baby for too long, too frighten that he’d mess it up so severly that he usually calls over his mom to help out
- he’s gotten better over the years but still doesn’t properly know how to dad
- tries more to be a friend than a dad
- whenever their child is in trouble, lets the other parent do the scolding and then retreats up to their childs bedroom with a bowl of icecream to try and make amends better.
-he’s sort of getting the hang of things but their kids highly doubt he ever fully will know what being a parent consists of.
- but thats okay, he’s trying his very best.

anonymous asked:

I just started a double degree (engineering and business) and holy shit I regret everything. THIS IS ME SCREAMING INTO THE ABYSS. I DONT KNOW HOW I'LL EVER MAKE IT TO MY FINAL YEAR

/SCREAMS INTO THE ABYSS WITH YOU/

Here’s a few things I wish I’d known before I started my double degree (+ a few things which have kept me sane since then!)

1. Coffee.

  • I started my degree as a ‘social’ coffee drinker.
  • NOW ITS LIKE WATER.
  • PUMP THAT SHIT INTO MY BLOODSTREAM, IV DRIP, THERE IS NO LIFE BEFORE COFFEE

2. Student Discounts

  • Reap the benefits of student discounts. Seriously.
  • Know where the cheapest coffee is, transport subsidies, printing subsidies, student sales, student flights!

3. Shit happens, things change.

  • Just because you hate something now, doesn’t mean you can’t love it later. The upshot being - just because you love something now, doesn’t mean you won’t hate it with the feverish passion of a thousand burning suns later.
  • Your interests will change. Your goals, both academic and personal will change. That’s ok.
  • Find something that motivates you to complete each degree. You may enjoy both your degrees equally. You may prefer one over the other - particularly if you’re still completing tedious core units for one degree whilst you get to do much more interesting advanced units for the other. Remind yourself why you’re doing this degree. Why are you doing double the workload, why is it worth the late nights, caffeine overdoses and the concurrent deadlines? Assess each degree independently of the other and find something which motivates you to study in that field.
  • In my case, I was very demotivated halfway through my degree. Honestly speaking, in my 3/4th year, I was ready to drop my other degree and graduate with a single. I only continued my other degree after going on exchange (read: more holiday than study) and when I could finally do advanced units which were interesting to me.
  • For others, changing degree (yes, even in 6th year) was the best choice for them. They’re much happier now, and much more driven - and it was their experience throughout their double degree that helped them realise their passion in another field. Sometimes, finding out what you hate is just as important as finding out what you love.

4. Save a first year unit for the end of your degree

  • Ok, I shit you not.
  • If your degree structure allows you to save an elective first year unit for your penultimate or final year, do it.
  • Sure, its strange to walk into a class of freshers. When you inevitably have an ‘ice breaker’ exercise, watch in sick fascination as the majority of the class whips their head around incredulously as you introduce yourself as a “fifth year student”
  • BUT BOY THE REWARDS ARE SWEET. For example, having a reduced workload so you can focus on your advanced units. Easy marks because you already know half the shit, and if not, you know where to find it.
  • You already have half the transferrable skills (report writing, referencing, critical analysis, knowledge of HOW THE FUCK TO SUBMIT AN ASSIGNMENT THROUGH YOUR UNI SERVER) to do well. You could probably skip all the intro/ getting to know your way around the library resources classes.
  • A relaxed class and a healthy boost to my GPA? Sign me up.

5. Use time to your advantage

  • One of the things I’m grateful for is time.
  • Its a long degree. Instinctively I knew this when I signed up - 5 to 7 years is a long time. But I only truly felt how long a period that time was when my friends with shorter degrees graduated and entered the workforce. And whilst I enjoy what I study, the mechanics and routine of going to uni and sitting exams etc remains tedious.
  • But heck, I am grateful for the time and opportunity I’ve had to figure shit out in the safety of university.
  • Professionally, I know the ins and outs of graduate job hunting. I have had the opportunity to ‘test run’ interviews etc, and learn about more opportunities with each passing cycle - the fairs, the assistance you can get at uni, the whole recruiting circus. I have a well established study system that works for me, featuring keyboard shortcuts, shitonnes of sticky notes and my weight in coffee. I know where to ask for help and I know which areas of campus are the best study spots and which places to avoid during mid-sem hell. I know what events my student society runs, and I know when there’s free breakfast during semester. I’m confident. I’m certainly not ready to face the workplace, but I’m more prepared that I would have been 3 years ago.
  • Personally, I’m more confident in my identity and what direction I want to take in the future. I know what I like, what I dislike, and what I’m willing to sacrifice/invest for what ends. I’ve learnt a lot about how I handle stress, friendship and 8am non recorded classes (read: not well).
  • Also, FIGURE OUT WHAT YOUR HIGHER DEGREE GRADUATE REQUIREMENTS ARE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TIME TO FIX THINGS. Do you need practical experience to graduate? Do you need to complete an internship unit? How many units of each degree do you need to complete? Have you completed the correct number of majors for each degree? Find out early, so you can amend your study plan.

6. Old habits die hard.

  •  AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I HAVE YET TO GO A SEMESTER WITHOUT PULLING AN ALL NIGHTER, BLESS NAIVE FIRST YEAR ME.
  • In saying that, use the length of your degree to develop good habits. Figure out what study method works for you, find out whether you’re more engaged in morning or evening classes. Where’s a decent study spot on campus?
  • Don’t be afraid to apply the skills you’ve learnt from one degree to the other. Whether it be research skills, note taking habits or otherwise. Keep in mind the differences between each discipline.
  • Work smart. By the time you’ve reached 3rd year, you’ll be at the halfway point. You know what lectures are like. You know what tutorials are like. You know which textbooks are worth the buy and what assessment structure suits you. Don’t be afraid to exploit that knowledge to forge a better semester for yourself.

Its a long journey. There’s going to be good days, shit days and then “fuck the world, what the hell is this” days. There’s going to be coinciding deadlines and  insane exam timetables. And that’s not even counting the late night existential crises in between.

But you’re going to learn so much - both in an academic and personal sense. You’ll find out what you enjoy, what lecturers to avoid, what subjects bore you to death. You’ll meet so many people - inspirational people, motivational people, and some assholes. You’ll realise that fuck yes I can complete a 3000 word assignment the night before, and yes I can survive a 90% exam.

Remember you always have the freedom to choose. You don’t have to do it all at once - go on exchange, take a semester off, find something to break up the tedium of study. Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is to figure out what’s best for you and pursuing it.

Good luck dear anon. You’re the first double degree anon to scream into the abyss - THIS IS ME SCREAMING ALONGSIDE YOU OH MY GOD YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

All the best,

fuckstudy

I found a love for me. Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead

Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet.

Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me.

Cause we were just kids when we fell in love,n

ot knowing what it was.

Isaac never knew that you would be the one that everyone kept talking about. You first knew Isaac from history. You saw him grow. He started out as that shy kid that no one really paid that much attention to. Then suddenly he became this complicated hotstuff, who thought he immediately was superior to others. Before returning back to his old self.

He approached you to help him with his history since you were one of the better students in class. There were the top students,so you had no idea why he picked you to be his tutor.

Countless of study sessions later,it was finally time for the exam. Time to see if all those tutoring sessions was worth it at all.

this is probably kinda messy but i just really need to get all my Trollhunters thoughts out before I burst. beware of spoilers, my dudes.

I love that I feel some, if even a small bit, of sympathy for each of the “villains” in the show. Draal begins as Jim’s first major adversary wanting to be the Trollhunter, but as he steadily becomes a close ally we learn all Draal wanted from the title, from beating Jim, was to make his father proud, something he learns to do by helping Jim instead of going against him. Strickler is a ruthless and cunning guy who literally admits to being power hungry and only having his own best interests in mind, but he has a soft spot for Barbara that brings out his more human side, that makes me feel bad for him despite everything. NotEnrique is a (quite literally) shifty, selfish brat that betrays Jim and co. before officially moving to their side, but his genuine care for Claire and her feelings, the budding sibling relationship they grow to have, makes me like him, makes me sad to think about him leaving after Claire gets Enrique back. Angor Rot is a cruel hunter who enjoys torturing and destroying souls, but the flashback where we learn he’s so bitter because his own soul is trapped in a ring and he wants to be free, made my heart clench when the ring shattered right before his eyes. Even the little gnomes who are shown to be selfish and mischievous, are shown another side by Chompski, another turned ally of Jim’s, who just wanted a home.

The characters are multi-dimensional, and because of this we see gray spaces among them. NotEnrique especially goes back and forth for awhile before settling his allegiance with Claire, but I appreciate the gradual change as opposed to a sudden one because it feels more realistic. You can feel that inner conflict going on. It becomes very clear that villains are people (creatures, whatever) too who see themselves as doing right but are capable of shifting their perspective into a new idea of right. Aaarrrgh is another great example of this. He used to fight with the GumGum long ago, but then realized he was wrong and dedicated his life to repenting for all the death he caused, choosing to do good and be a pacifist instead. The show doesn’t define by fixed black and white, but by the choices characters make. This extends to the “heroes” too.

The best example probably being when Jim faced the ethical dilemma of trusting Angor Rot to follow through on their deal or not. Both of his friends stood for these opposite choices; Toby wanted Jim to trust Angor Rot and hand the ring over, and Claire wanted Jim to keep the ring and control Angor Rot with it instead. It’s hard to say what the better choice is because both raise good points. Ultimately Jim seemed to lean more Claire’s way, going a step further and trying to steal the Killing Stone from right under Angor Rot’s nose, but that backfired horrendously resulting in the ring shattering and utterly destroying any chance of some sort of truce/alliance ever forming between them. Angor Rot was after blood from then on out, putting Jim, his friends, and all of Troll Market in serious danger. We don’t know if all of that could’ve been prevented had Jim acted differently, we don’t know if something worse would’ve happened had Jim acted differently, but it just goes to show the moral complexity behind ethical decisions like that, something I deeply appreciate the inclusion of. Its great writing.

Jim is faced with smaller decisions of this nature as well, such as when he lies to his mom once more after promising to tell her the truth when she recovers and doesn’t remember anything again, though we have yet to see the outcome of this decision, whether its the better course of action or not, as again each choice has its drawbacks and benefits.

That said, I find Jim’s character progression in a moral sense very interesting, particularly when it comes to “finishing the fight”. The story begins with Jim vehemently against this, choosing to spare lives like Draal’s (”House rules. Not mine.”), going so far as to start a speech in front of the disappointed trolls about how he doesn’t want to live by their rules until he’s yanked off stage by Blinky. This continues up until about the middle of the season when he has to kill Gunmar’s son out of self defense. My first thought watching that scene was ‘Oh no. The first kill’ He was trying to dance around it in the fight, trying to get out of doing it, but in the end he couldn’t get out of it. Kill or be killed. And as the stone body tumbles into the water, you see Jim’s conflicting emotions on his face. You see the resignation, the realization that this is something he’s gonna have to do sometimes whether he likes it or not, and your heart breaks a little for him. Then in the finale Jim doesn’t hesitate, jamming Angor Rot’s sword right through his own chest without looking back.

And it hurts, watching this young, loving kid realizing you can’t spare everyone, having to adapt to this harsh warrior lifestyle so suddenly, but its realistic development. Too many times stories will try to argue that killing the villain makes you just as bad as them, but that’s just not how it works. That’s not how war works. It’d be nice in theory if everyone could be spared, but that’s not reality and Trollhunters does a great job of showing that, and the emotional burden that comes with it.

Switching gears a bit, there’s a decent amount of foreshadowing of Jim’s father having been a changeling, and consequently Jim having some of that troll/changeling blood in his veins as well; his father’s mysterious sudden disappearance, the fact that the amulet has only ever chosen those with troll blood before, the quip about Stickler being a changeling “If he’s one, I’m one” in which we find out later Stickler is one. I don’t know if the theory’s true or not (it would explain how the amulet could’ve chosen Jim), but I wanna play around with it for a sec, as well as the Daylight and Eclipse powers, in relation to the morally gray spaces in the show.

If Jim is part troll/changeling, it would symbolically represent the amulet really well; Daylight representing his humanity, Eclipse representing the changeling. On the surface, like a human compared to a changeling, Daylight seems more “good” than Eclipse. The suit’s blue and silver, there’s no ill intent behind wanting “the glory of Merlin”, and Blinky says Jim’s (as well as all humans’) greatest strength is their ability to love each other. Whereas Eclipse is black and red, is drawn from Gunmar’s eye, is to be used “for the doom of Gunmar”. But, like a human and a changeling, despite appearances, neither force is more inherently good or bad. Humans are capable of doing evil, and Daylight is capable of being used for evil, like when Angor Rot was using Daylight against Jim. Changelings/any creature from the GumGum are capable of doing good, like NotEnrique and Aaarrrgh, and Eclipse is capable of being used for good. Nothing is inherent, nothing is all good or all bad, all that matters is your choices, how you choose to wield those powers, what kind of person you choose to be.

And Jim himself would be the amulet that binds these two forces together. He is neither all human or all troll, all light or all darkness, all good or all bad. He is not one side of the coin or the other. He is the coin itself. He is the literal balance of these forces, bridging the gap between them as well as the gap between the “good” creatures and the “bad” creatures, and then all the creatures and the humans. He commands these forces. Regardless of appearance, regardless of blood, he gets to choose how they’re used and what kind of person he is, and that is what defines Jim. Not either or, but both. Both sides embraced together. That is of course if Jim really is not all human. It’s certainly something I’d like to see.

Missing Scenes Series

TV Show: Riverdale

Couple: Joaquin/Kevin

Rating: T

Summary: A new series focusing on filling in some of the missing scenes in Joaquin/Kevin’s relationship. Behind the cut, you’ll find Episode 4.

Please like or reblog if you enjoyed. Thanks so much!

                                              Chapter 1: Episode 4

The movie was slightly better than Kevin expected. Not by much, though. He’d still rather be doing something more fun, but Veronica insisted and he was a sucker for a pretty face. Something he’d admit to, gladly. At least James Dean was a total hottie; that helped keep his attention.

Heist AU headcanons: MCs
