it's just a scene i would really like to watch play out some time in my future

*there are way more namjoon tracks but this list was getting too long* *just peep his mixtape and soundcloud*

1. Rap Monster by Rap Monster

This is Namjoon’s take on “look at me now” by Chris Brown and a.k.a the first ever song to be represented by Bangtan Sonyeondan as it was the first ever track on BTS’s official soundcloud.

This is an introduction to Rap Monster as an artist and a lit track. This shit was a bop!

2. Too much by Rap Monster

This song is extremely meaningful and Namjoon’s voice sounds breathtaking. This was Namjoon’s reflection of the B-free incident. He mentions how he shouldn’t take B-free’s hate to his heart and not to over think criticism. In the beginning he sounds really hurt but omg towards the end he is going hard, and it gives me old school rap vibes.

3. Unpack your bags by Rap Monster

This song is a huge middle finger to the underground rap community who looks down on idol rappers. This was a collab with the show 4 things where he mentions how hard it was him to pursue hip hop. He mentioned 4 struggles he faced in the industry. Check out the episode, the show also shows how he interacts with his producers and Bang PDnim and this was where the really famous “ Solo, or Bangtan” moment was born. We really got to know Namjoon as an artist personally and his teenage days. This is complimented with a really cute music video.

4. P.D.D (Please Don’t Die) by Rap Monster

This is a track where he collabed with Warren G  prior to his mixtape in L.A and this gives me chills because of that prominent West Coast feel. Check out the MV and the naver behind the scenes.

5. Something by Rap Monster (a.k.a my all time favourite song I don’t know why tbh)

HOLY SHIT THIS SONG TAKES ME WAY BACK! I feel as if nowadays the producers really autotune Namjoon’s singing voice and make it really shaky but hear you can prominently really hear his singing skills and It is such a sexy love song. It really gives your romantic feels and reflects on a sad teenage love story.

6. Where u At by Rap Monster

Here we have high school Namjoon talking about how school has gotten the best of him. In a culture where education and status are everything, he talks about letting his parents down and confessing to his relatives about his future in Hip-Hop. Its an extremely relatable track where you think about where you want to head in the future.

7. Favourite Girl by Rap Monster

This is such a cute fuckboy song omg Namjoon’s voice is so cute in this. Young love amirite.

But I have a secret meme with this song. In 6th grade I accidentally blasted this and my teacher started singing along to it since the chorus is in english and ever since my friends have been taunting me with this song.

8. Monterlude by Rap Monster

The instrumental to this was included in the Skool Luv Affair album. This is in english and this is such a cute love song. Namjoon would spoil his girlfriend omg.

9. Promethus by Yankie feat Rap Monster

Namjoon teamed up with some popular K-rappers and his verse in this made my pussy drop BUT EVERYONE IN THIS SONG DID SO AMAZING THIS IS SUCH A TURNT SONG I WAS JAMMING TOO HARD

This song is based off of the seven sins and Namjoon plays lust..ofc.

He uses some sick korean wordplay.

10. Bucku Bucku by MFBTY feat Rap Monster

MFBTY are already korean hip hop legends and the fact that such “old” and wise rappers decided to have Namjoon feature is an honor.

He also had a little role in another one of their mvs here

11.   PRIMARY (프라이머리) - U (Feat. Kwon Jin Ah 권진아, Rap Monster 랩

This song is really relaxing and I love Primary’s beats and Kwon Jin Ah’s soothing voice, But Namjoon’s soothing rap was so sexy. It was just so hot omg.

12. Awakening by Rap Monster from his mixtape

This song was from his mixtape which you absolutely need to check out and I suggest you see his other music videos such as the legendary Do You  and Joke.

This song was extremely powerful and eye opening. Just ready the lyrics and you will know why.

“In  the moment of my failure
will someone hold my hand?
in the moment when I come down from the stage
will that person be next to me?
just tell me that I can survive
in this cold world, just feel my vibe
every night inside me I quietly fight with myself
my heart pounds, my colleagues stab me in the back
while saying that I became a moron after joining a company
yeah fuck you I’m an idol, yeah yeah I’m an idol
at one time I hated it but now I love to get that title”

13. I believe by Rap Monster

Extremely uplifting and it brings you a huge amount of self-confidence, its a self-loving song and its a self reminder to always believe in yourself no matter how much you fall. Also has a little appearance from Jimin.

14. God Rap By Rap Monster

This song talks about Namjoon being an athiest but also has a message for believers. It talks about controlling your own life and to be your own idol. It says how you have the power of god in you and how you are extraordinary.

15. Throw Away by Rap Monster

“got an automatic dick”

16. Rush by Rap Monster feat Krizz Kaliko also from his mixtape

Funny story this is how they got together and created this lit korean meets american rap track.

Namjoon goes really hard in this, check it out!

17. Drifting by Rap Monster also from his Mixtape

This song has a theme that goes with “Reflection” and “Always”, He says how his thoughts are drifting and how feels lost (almost like the track lost in wings). Its put you in a trance where you, yourself starts to think about where you are in life and what purpose you have.

18. Life by Rap Monster from his mixtape

This song got me tripping because Namjoon is a lyrical genius. The amount of questions this song got me saying is insane. Just read.

“ the little me inside myself was always lonely
why is there no opposite word of loneliness?
could it be because people, until they die, have no moments of not being lonely?
it’s necessary to seek a moment to be alone
yeah that’s a life
we live inside danger
through the reward that makes us able to see this beautiful world “

were we born to die, were we born to live
are we living to die, or are we dying to live
the nametag with my name on it, is that my life?
or is it death

who knows…

life, fall in love
life receives injuries from us and
is lonely because of the wind and
we wanna be right
but always wrong
were we born to be wrong?
is life something like that?
(in the end, for our whole lives we don’t know what tomorrow will be)”

19. Monster by Rap Monster from his mixtape

20. Joke. (you should probably know this)

I really did’nt want to include this because his 2 most famous tracks are Do you and Joke and I wanted to keep this list to the underrated but tbvh I was really surprised when I figured out that people don’t know this track.

In this track he said how he is mocking rappers who only have good flow but no sense of meaningful lyrics.

The lyrics in this song make no sense but the rap flow is too damn good. WHEN WATCHING THIS YOU WILL BE LIKE HONEY PLEASE BREATHE. HE RAPS SO FAST.

21. DO YOU BY RAP MONSTER ( (you should also probably know this)

In this track he talks about how at a young age society tells us what to be, how to look, what to wear, how to behave. He says fuck whatever they say and just do you.

I heard that fantastic four was shit but Namjoon got a chance to do a song for a movie which is a big deal for bangtan so WHOO

23. Illest Bitch

A really cute confession from Namjoon going through Puberty

I’m almost too lazy to make this post because God it’s just so self explanatory but my loyalty to Temari runs too deep so here goes:

They did exactly what I called they were gonna do and made her an over aggressive nagging house wive. This is why I complained over and over again three years ago when I saw they had moved her to Konoha because I KNEW someway somehow they were going to subject her character to this. They want her to be Yoshino 2.0 even though that’s NEVER been who she is because “lmao get it Shikamaru is just like his dad! Parallels!!”. They don’t take the time to think about how her character would actually react because none of that matters now - she exists solely to be Shikamaru’s wife.

Some people are crying “abuse!” at what she did but I don’t really want to go there tbh. It’s very clear that in the Naruto universe things we find abusive are just par for the course. Calling out Temari in this instance would require we call out basically ever other female character which is not realistic. Domestic violence in Naruto is always played for laughs which is obviously fucked up but not something I think it’s fair to fault the characters for as we’re not intended to see it as abusive (even though realistically it is). No, what I really take issue with is the fact that being an overbearing and strict mother/wife is basically all Temari is given to do.

This woman was born in one of the most fucked up situations of any character we see. He father was a walking human disaster, her mother was dead, and her youngest brother had a nasty habit of slaughtering anyone who looked at him the wrong way. She has always been strong and confident but throughout the series she softens considerably as she learns caring is not a weakness. She is a better diplomat than either of her brothers and remains calm and collected in even the tensest of situations. Her dynamic with Shikamaru has always been one of mutual respect and understanding which is what makes their relationship work so well (and IMO better than any of the canon relationships we got). Yes, Temari is a take no shit kind of person who probably WOULD chastise her son for his pitiful behavior - but not in the way we’re shown. In Boruto her parenting method basically amounted to “I’m just going to hit you and intimidate you until you get the picture and ultimately just end up listening to your cooler nicer wiser dad.” She doesn’t actually say anything of significance to Shikadai at all - that is reserved entirely for Shikamaru as he’s the influential one in their sons life. Temari is just there to be the ol’ ball-and-chain ~what a drag~ mom whose only dominion is the house she is confined to. THEN there’s the fact that Temari refusing to make dinner inevitably meant neither Shikamaru nor Shikadai could eat - as if a grown man could not make his own dinner and HAD to have his wife do it because it’s her domestic ~duty~. This is extra and dramatic but it actually makes me sick that they’re doing this to her. After everything she went through she would have something worthwhile to add to the conversation other than “bah you’re too easy on him I’m going to withhold meals to prove a point!!!”. She doesn’t treat her brothers like this and they’re consistently shown to value her opinion because her opinion is worth hearing.

Temari played a crucial role in Suna politics prior to the end of the series. She sat on the council and came with Gaara to all the kage summits/meetings. She was one of the best kunoichi in the series just brimming with potential and strength and ferocity. During the war I began to get annoyed with how much they were making her revolve around Shikamaru’s character because after a certain point basically all her dialogue was in relation to him. That’s when I knew things were about to take a hard left turn for shits-ville and boy was I right. In chapter 700 ALL we see her doing is sitting in a house chastising her son and serving her brothers tea before they head out to a kage meeting without her. We don’t get any indication that she’s still affiliated with Suna, hell we don’t even get any indication that she’s still a ninja. In the boruto manga/movie she doesn’t interact with her siblings ONCE and is not with them in the pit with all the other Kage/advisors. I was happy to see she still had her fan but other than that I left highly unimpressed. Now in the anime she is ONCE AGAIN pictured in a house, serving people drinks and nagging away as if that’s all she’s good for anymore. I know it was played as a joke but that’s exactly what makes me so mad - her character has become nothing more than a trope meant to appeal to the lowest common denominator. The nagging housewive angle truly is the lowest hanging fruit but studio peirrot really could not resist could they.

Nevermind the fact that it would have been way funnier had they subverted the whole “why did you marry such a strict woman” thing by having Shikadai side with his mom instead, saying something to the effect of “why did you marry such an unmotivated slacker”. Can we stop treating Temari like she’s just an overly aggressive loaded gun that’s just one mistep away from going off. I mean I genuinely love Shikatema but I do not think the Boruto anime understands Shikatema. Part of me still wishes they just hadn’t got together because they don’t actually feel like “them” when they’re portrayed like this. No one is being respected as a character.

Anyway all this to say I’m basically done with the Boruto anime now. I might still watch the next couple of episodes because curiosity is gonna get the better of me but emotionally I have severed all connections. It just comes down to the fact that I cannot handle them so grossly mischaracterizing characters that I have loved since I was 11 years old. I actually don’t mind the new gen when they’re on their own but every damn time they show one of the original characters they manage to fuck them up in some way. We see it with Temari, with Naruto, with Yamato, with Sakura. Hell I can’t stand Sasuke and even I’m mad about what they did to him post chapter 699. I am never going to like the new gen characters more than the original cast so if watching Boruto means seeing them get completely decimated then I’m not gonna watch it. Simple as that. Naruto being an absent father is the worst crime but I have no doubt they’ll continue to top that in future episodes.

Last Game Novel English Translation (Ch 1 Part 1-Invasion)

As requested I began translating the Last Game novel! Things to keep in mind are this follows the movie storyline (not the manga, it is indeed a bit different), and there are INDEED SPOILERS. So only proceed if you want to be spoiled.
I’m planning to split each chapter into two parts (8 chapters=16 parts total)

Prologue Translation

The five unparalleled geniuses, the “Generation of Miracles.”
And the one the five of them acknowledged, the “Phantom Sixth Man.”
And then he appeared before them, as if it was fate that they were all gathered in the same generation.
Kagami Taiga.
The one that was the same as the Generation of Miracles, but didn’t become one of the Generation of Miracles. He held the same gift as the geniuses and the last one to awaken-“The Miracle that didn’t become a Miracle.”
He met his fated Shadow, and became a true light.
The Light fought his rivals and increased his brightness, and finally led his team to win the Winter Cup and become the number one team in Japan.

And now,

The Light and Shadow arrive at a new stage.

Click the ‘read more’ to continue to the first half of Chapter 1!

The Perks of Being Alive

Genre: fluff
Word Count
: 1347
: Baz comes home after a day at university and snuggles up with Simon on the sofa. They talk.

Falling in love with Simon Snow was like being burned alive. It was bruised knuckles, blue eyes, and sleepless nights. It was bad dreams, desperate wishes, and hopeless tears. It was drowning, and breathing, and being alive. It was dying, and feeling, and hurting. It was a stream of sun on a pitch black sky. It was a hand, grabbing my ankle, pulling me down. Falling in love with Simon Snow was a

million things, half of them a tragedy, the other half a miracle.

But all that is nothing compared to being in a relationship with Simon Snow. I feel like I’ll wake up any moment to realize that all of this was nothing more than a dream. The whole last year. (Maybe I’m still in that coffin. Maybe I’m dreaming this up just to stay alive.)
But every time I hold his hand, or he looks at me a certain way, or smiles at me, I think it’s all real. And it’s like I’m floating, all the time, at least a feet above the ground. Like that scene in Mary Poppins where Jane and Michael visit that man that flies when he’s laughing, the more the higher. (Shut up. Mordelia made me watch it.) He comes down to the bottom when you tell him something sad, but I feel like I’m always just flying further and further.

To put it a not so sappy way, it feels like I’m high. On love. (I tried.)
I’m so ridiculously in love with him, it hurts sometimes. And knowing that I get to go home to Simon every day makes life a lot more magical. (And that says something, coming from a magician.)

I got you anon! Just assume everything is the same, but without them kissing each other for even once during their routes. This will be including semi-AU scenarios, so I hope you don’t mind about it :) Its literally the longest I’ve ever written omg ~Admin Kei

-It was a few weeks after the official announcement of their relationship, when Zen and MC are watching a romantic movie in his house

-While they’re watching midway through the movie, the romantic scenes were getting cheesier, which somewhat left them in an awkward mood

- Being the sensitive type, he couldn’t help but stole a few glances towards his side. There she was, holding her cheeks on her palms, slightly blushing. It seems that she was really concentrated on the movie, since her soft gaze never left the television screen.

-A few minutes had passed and none of them dared to say a word. He was feeling even more conscious now, he thought, as he tried to find somewhere else to distract himself from the movie; he never thought that watching a movie that contains particular…kiss scenes with a female he confessed his love on could be such intense.

-“Get a grip, Zen. You know you’re better than this.” He mentally slapped his cheeks, putting his thoughts towards their recent relationship. They did occasionally share some physical intimacy, but it seems like its missing something…oh. His gaze landed back on the screen; the kiss is still ongoing.

-“I never even kissed MC…I’m so stupid.” Deciding that he should repay back her feelings on how she supported him throughout the time she’s joined RFA, he simply turned off the TV with the remote, which immediately gained back MC’s attention towards him.

-“W-What?” she blinked in confusion, as her thoughts soon returned to the atmosphere around the house. Before she could further ask what’s going on, he held onto her chin with his fingers, slowly pulling her towards him.

-The first kiss they shared on the lips was mild and sweet; her lips were pretty soft too, he thought. Although she knew that he did not dare to delve in further, she could still feel his hidden feelings that were waiting so desperately to be shown to her, and it was crazy. It truly shows how both of them love each other, considering time was not a factor at that moment.

-There’s still a few months left before their official wedding, when they arrived at a particular high-class restaurant for dinner.

-“I love the quiet atmosphere here, Jumin, thanks for inviting me.” She said, as he pulled the seat for her to sit in. “As long as its for you, I wouldn’t mind at all.” He he softly replied with a smile, as he eventually sat in front of her.

-After he ordered food from the menu, both of them began to share a conversation relating to the wedding and perhaps even their honeymoon in the future. Even when he’s a bit tired from all the working in his company, talking to his fiancée really restores his energy right away.

-“Sorry, I’ll be right back.” She stood up from the chair, slowly heading towards the bathroom. He did not reply, but instead kept his gaze on her back; the way her dress sways whenever she took a step, her hair bouncing up and down and the smile that seems to be lingering on the back of her head, all of them intrigues him. He just loves every part of her well-being, whether its her appearance or not.

-When he took a glance towards his surroundings, he realized that another couple was sitting at the farthest table, well…kissing. He did not particularly mind them showing affection in a public place, but it certainly reminded him that not even once did they ever kissed on the lips before, even after he proposed during the RFA party.

-After MC came back from the bathroom, they continued to eat while sharing a pleasant talk, as if nothing had happened before.

-Eventually, as they were sitting on his car with his driver on the front seat, he stares at her with a strange expression, leaving MC in a blank state. “Jumin?”

-He did not reply again, but instead placing his right hand on her cheek tenderly, initiating a kiss right before she could react from it. The kiss was somewhat rough, but she does not mind; not only she could feel the warmth crept up from his body, but also the long suppressed love he have been wanting to show her all this time. It was particularly enjoyable and memorable to both of them.

-It was another random day of them scrolling through the chatroom together in his home, when he came through a particular topic discussed by Zen and Seven.

Seven: I’ll give you a virtual kiss if you want some company Zen <3 <3

Seven: *inserts heart emoji here*

Zen: *inserts awkward emoji here*

Zen: I would rather get kissed by a fan than you Seven.

-“Yoosung, what’s wrong?” Oops. He hasn’t even realized that he zoned out a bit, while looking at the screen in front of him. “U-Um, its fine, MC! Nothing’s wrong!” He waved his hand to reassure her.

-When he returned his gaze towards the conversation that both Seven and Zen shared, he realized that their relationship hasn’t even advanced further, ever since he confessed his love towards her. He appreciates how she stayed by his side even when he tried to compare her with Rika, which he knows he shouldn’t do that in the first place, but he really wished that he could know more about her in-depth.

-”Why did I even decide to scroll through the chatrooms anyway…” He sighed mentally, knowing that they haven’t shared a kiss, for even once. Maybe he could do something about it?

-Unfortunately, his self-consciousness told him that it’ll probably be too early to do so, so he wasted a few hours playing multiplayer games with her, talking, cooking, the usual routine.

-“Maybe I shouldn’t be too subtle about it and instead ask her directly? Yup, this is definitely the best idea, even though I didn’t have my first kiss yet! Go Yoosung!” He kept making pep talks to himself during the meantime and its almost driving him into a non-stop blushing madness; its still a surprise that she haven’t noticed this yet.

-As soon as its almost time for her to leave, he simply grabbed onto her wrists, implying her to stay for a bit longer. “C-Can I kiss you before you leave?”

-When he saw that she froze on the spot, he took the chance and grabbed onto her shoulders, giving her a simple kiss. He did not dare to move, but it feels kind of tingly and nice, he thought. He could even smell the faint scent from her minted lip balm, which reminds him to buy more of those when he got time.

-It was just like any normal day in the café, but with MC helping her with the washing instead.

-“I really appreciate your help, MC, but it’ll be very tiring if you stayed with me for the whole day.” She said, with sadness added in her tone. She wouldn’t want her to be stressed out with the large amount of work, considering how she truly understands the meaning of being stressed when she’s still Jumin’s assistant.

-“I’m totally fine, Jaehee! Looking at the customer’s smiles always give me a boost of energy, plus its not that I have a lot to do anyway.” MC replied joyfully, as she continues washing the plates piled onto the sink.

-“Wow, she’s just so innocent…but that’s what I like about MC though.” She thought with a slight smile, complimenting the RFA coordinator in her mind. Ever since MC joined the RFA and befriended her, her sole existence already gave her a lot of confidence on being direct towards her own feelings. If its not MC who joined the RFA by accident, she might’ve been stuck being Jumin’s assistant, or worse, going to the hospital frequently because of over-stressing herself and a lack of sleep for almost every weekday.

-Before her thoughts could drift along any further, all the lights in her café suddenly went into an outage; the sun already setting didn’t help much too. Several customers began opening the flashlight from their phones, but the café is still very much pitch black, considering how its not really crowded.

-Its even worse when there’s already inches of snow being piled up against the door. Yup you’ve guessed it; it happened during December.

-“Jaehee?” She turned her head towards the source of sound, “I-I’m quite scared of the dark.”

-As soon as she saw MC’s crouching figure, she immediately put her arms around her, stroking her back softly. When the lights seemed that it wouldn’t turn back on for a while, she knew the only way to give MC full comfort. It is not the best choice, but if its MC, she’s willing to do anything to keep her safe.

-As their lips were connected for a while, it successfully calmed down MC in a surprising state. It wasn’t really the first kiss they had imagined to be, but it was more of a reassuring kind instead. For both of them, its simply worth more than a thousand words.

-It was a quiet night in his apartment, when MC’s the only one falling asleep peacefully.

-“Why do I have to work overnight again…” He let out a soft sigh, showing his frustration on a certain someone. Getting tired from staring at the computer screen while drinking Dr. Pepper, he stretched himself to get more comfort from sitting on a computer chair.

-While he was busy with closing all the useless tabs, his gaze landed on a folder with MC’s name on it. He clicked on it out of curiosity and sure enough, its mostly about the background information he researched when she first joined RFA by accident.

-His thoughts simply drifted off the 11 days before the start of an unexpected RFA party; all these years having to act for an optimistic personality online, with MC  suddenly popping up and knowing how to respond most of his weird phrases, was clearly something that he did not expect at all.

-Not to mention meeting his twin brother in such an unfortunate incident, which led him into despair and for once, breaking out from the façade and showing his true, pessimistic personality. He always thought that he should repay the debt from treating her with coldness during the time he’s in Rika’s apartment, but he just doesn’t know how.

-He simply hates how he’s always so emotional during the night. As he landed his gaze on her sleeping figure, he felt a sense of calmness radiating from her. If she did not appear, all of these incidents wouldn’t even happen, especially being her boyfriend-

-“Wait…we’re in a relationship for almost a month and we still haven’t kissed? How?!” He continuously scratched his head in irritation, “Should I do that? Right now?”

-“But it might wake her up-“ “Alright, here goes.” He slowly tiptoed towards his bed, as he crouched down below her sleeping figure. Seeing MC’s beautiful face already made him into a blushing madness. He isn’t like this-

-He gently pulled her forward with his right hand, as he then tilted his head and gave her a sweet kiss. He tries to move forward, but he knows it’ll instantly wake her up. He lingered the kiss to further savor the moment, he realizes she sort of tastes like toothpaste and it was the best kiss he ever initiated.

I swear I am going to end up in Radley after this show is finished

I’m not sure if I’m slightly upset we didn’t get to see the dialogue between Aria and Nicole, only because its been so dragged out with Ezra being gone for the most of 7B. Why has Ezra been missing this whole time? I mean it’s so confusing since Nicole is NOT in NY but close enough for Aria to have driven to the clinic, yet he doesn’t even come home to change his clothes and have some rest? Shady Ezra, shady.

So do all members of the A team have keys to all the liars’ houses just like Mona? The idea of people creeping in and out of a house is so frustrating. You’ve been doing this for how many years? Since you were 16? Why are there no cameras anywhere near your damn houses? SERIOUSLY?!

Aria is being shady. Honestly no wonder Ezria is a couple, they are both shady. I think I have been completely desensitized to their “shock faces”, all I keep thinking is “I know you’re part of this”.

Okay so this episode was awesome and the fact that some answers are smacking me straight in the face is amazing. However I have a couple questions because I am genuinely confused after watching it. So now, I am re watching this. Because it’s not like I have 2 essays due *cough cough* - moving on.

Aria Montgomery: the rundown

Season 1:

Aria is categorized as the artsy family oriented girl who spent time away from Rosewood for a year while keeping a family secret who transformed into a girl who found love in a seemingly hopeless place with her teacher while her family is falling apart. Might I say that Byron is awful for having his teenage daughter keep his secret, that put her in an impossible position because all she wanted to do was keep her family together. Its a lot for a 16 year old to handle. Cue her and Ezra’s first encounter which was way too quick to my liking. I think they should’ve tried harder to stay away from each other, I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship that I would have to hide from the world—which is what they fought about during the course of this season. She forced herself into a relationship with Noel then they all thought he was A after the whole I See You thing on the car window. I do like how she stuck by her friends. I feel like she was the most skeptical about Alison’s bull than the rest in this season.

Season 2:

Although during this season she was more free to be with Ezra since he wasn’t her teacher at this point but I feel like if she can’t be with him around her family and friends then there’s no point. Ezra should feel gross by dating a kid. Don’t get me wrong, they have their cute moments, are loyal to each other, and have strong feelings for one another I just feel like it should’ve started when she was 18 because if the Rosewood PD was full of competent officers, Ezra would’ve been in some serious trouble. Cue Jason and her little thing where he was semi obsessive with the pictures, idk how I feel about that. Is Rosewood a place where men in their 20s go cruising for high school girls to date. I think this is the season she had that “hey, I have options’’ approach to dating. The thing that I hated about this season was when the parents got the Liars to separate but at the same time I love that it gave them time to trick A(even though it didn’t work out exactly how they planned, I loved it). I thought Dr. Sullivan was full of crap.

Season 3:

I saw a lot of growth in Aria in the next two seasons but I noticed a lot of her growing moments have to do with her relationship with Ezra. The whole train thing was pretty intense. That whole being in a crate with a dead Garrett Reynolds should’ve been traumatizing for her. I have to say, out of all the times that Ali came to them, when she came to Aria it was my favorite.

Season 4:

When Maggie came to town she had to put things realistically and first started asking herself “can I do this? he has a child”, “can I see this in my future?”, “should I be dating someone my own age?” cue Jake. I enjoyed her relationship with Jake, they were on the same level and I think it had her thinking that she can survive without Ezra, I know their relationship was intense but Jake was a realistic choice considering age, common interests, and clicking quickly. But just like Maggie pushing her away, that led to her being pulled back in when the truth about Malcolm’s paternity was revealed.he went through a lot in season 4 with lashing out at Ezra for his “book” (which I loved) finding out that Alison is alive, etc.

Season 5:

When Ezra got shot- it gave them more in depth memories and tested them- I was not surprised when they had sex a month later. Her character has such a great dynamic with the whole Shana thing(minus the whole YouTubing her funeral thing but anyways-moving along) I think she should’ve turned to the other girls more instead of trying to check on Jenna because of her guilt. Em went through the same murder-by-self-defense thing, she could’ve turned to her or the others instead of trying to create some distance. The whole dollhouse fiasco was ridiculous but I loved the scene when they found out the verdict was read out, it showed that no matter what happened leading up to that that their friendship was so strong.

Season 6:

I feel like she was the most traumatized post-dollhouse, I love how it was portrayed, gave her more depth. Five years forward I’m glad at Cece’s hearing she told the truth. I find Byron and Ella’s second marriage irrelevant, only thing that would’ve made me perk up would’ve been Mike attending; it was sweet and special that Aria officiated it though. Moving right along, I don’t think Ezria should be engaged because they broke up way before the season 6 time jump making it about 6 years since they’ve been together plus they didn’t see each other during the time jump, they had sex and then in a week or so’s time he was down on one knee, how is that realistic..Over the course of 7 years I think the most impressive thing about her is how much she’s matured, she thinks about things and calculates her moves instead of her younger and impulsive days. Bravo soon to be Mrs. Fitz.

Season 7:

So far I feel like she’s the one who was most determined for normalcy. I think she just wanted to keep her relationship with Ezra solid, I’m glad she kept him from the dark and depressing state he was in in 6A. Other than rekindling Ezria, she hasn’t been doing much in the first half of this season which is probably due to her having a good arc in 7b.

Fave moments so far:

the emotions she felt watching Ezra find Nicole

accepting the proposal

her fashion sense

being honest at Cece’s hearing

“don’t look at me, I’m ready to hang a sign ’‘bitch can see!”

“she chipped us? she frickin chipped us”

the meltdown after finding out Ezra played her

officiating her parent’s wedding

the night she brought Ali back to Welby

when her and Spencer almost froze to death

What I want from her in the final 10 episodes:

I want her to really be clear about her relationship with ezra before marrying him. if after that she decides she wants to marry him then so be it, get married, have your career, have your man, start a family and be happy. If not draw the line with Ezra, give him back the ring and don’t go back to him.

Uncles ziam attending Brooklyn's first ballet recital and being overly supportive. Zayn telling people "That's my godchild over there!" Bonus: if Brooklyn does something goofy on stage and they're like "Was that part of the routine?" And Caroline's like "Nope." And they all laugh fondly because that's so very Brooklyn.

I turned this into a stupid ficlet rather than a lovely drabble, sorry nonnie. Hope you enjoy.

The hall that the ballet school’s performing in is old. High arched ceilings, a brick building that stands next to the church that’s been here for centuries.

Liam and Zayn have been here once before, to watch a Christmas show when Brooklyn was 3.

Back then, the ballet school’s budget didn’t stretch to constructing sets or having anything other than a few smelly old heaters scattered around the hall, the smell of burning had meant they’d had to be turned off and everyone had sat in their winter coats shivering and clapping even more than they would have done normally just to keep warm.

Two years have passed.  Two years in which a cash injection from benefactors who wanted to remain anonymous transformed the ballet school and the hall.

The hall’s warm as toast now.

The school can now do what they planned to do all along and that’s invite children of parents on benefits, who couldn’t normally afford the cost of the lessons, never mind anything else, to be part of the lessons

They can afford sets which transform any building.  Like this building.  As Liam and Zayn walk through the door, it’s like they’ve walked into a Winter Wonderland, there’s Christmas trees, there’s artificial snow, and then either side of where the seats are in front of the stage, it’s like they’re in an enchanted forest.

There’s snow, okay its artificial, but it still creates the effect, which falls as they walk forward and just as they reach the back row of the seats, there’s a stall with 2 women dishing out steaming hot mugs of mulled wine for the adults and hot chocolate and marshmallows for the children.

It’s not even halfway through December yet, but in Liam it stirs up that feeling of excitement that he always feels this time of year nevertheless.

They accept a mug each and there’s a flicker of recognition on one of the women’s faces and she goes to speak, but then thinks better of it and stays silent.

“Cheers babe,” Zayn presses his mug forward and clinks it into Liam’s as they step away from the stall.

“Cheers to you too love,”Liam replies then they lift the mugs upwards, not taking their eyes off each other as they each take a sip.

Zayn immediately pulls it away, pulls his face and grumbles, “Tastes more like  Lemsip than bloody wine.”

Liam rolls his eyes, “Well,  give it here, then Mr Grinch and I’ll have yours too, and you can have a hot chocolate with marshmallows just like all the other kids in this place,” he finishes the words with a pinch of Zayn’s cheeks.

Zayn holds up the middle finger of his free hand as his response and he looks like he’s about to say something when they hear their names being called and Liam looks to his left towards the seats, and she’s there waving and then she’s not alone, she’s  got a lady stood next to her, about the same height as Caroline.

Liam and Zayn glance at each other, shrug and Zayn continues to mumble discontentedly about the mulled wine as they walk towards Caroline and whoever the lady with her is.

Caroline and the woman meet them halfway just as Liam drains the contents of his own mug and places it on the tray of one of the caterers as they walk past.

Liam puts his hand out,  ready to shake the woman’s hand when Caroline takes hold of it instead and then jerks her thumb in the direction of the fire exit in the corner of the hall.

Zayn follows behind as Caroline drags Liam towards the fire exit and the woman falls into step with Caroline and Liam.

They reach the door and Liam expects Caroline to open it, but instead she drops her hand from Liam’s and then places it on the woman’s arm.

“Sorry for the dramatics boys, but Helen here has always wondered who her anonymous benefactors are, and I know we can trust her to keep it quiet, if you two want it to remain quiet that is.”

Helen blinks, her mouth falls open before she regains some composure long enough to say.

“You are joking, right?”

Liam and Zayn shake their heads in unison before Liam explains.

“We were sat over there in the corner for the Christmas 2016 show and Brooklyn was one of the Christmas angels, except she was an angel in a duffel coat, like all the other angels cause it was freezing, and we almost froze our peanuts off.”

Zayn picks up the story then, “Yeah, and we were driving home and had the heat on full blast and Caroline was saying that never mind, no heating, there’d be no ballet school come next Christmas if they didn’t have a miracle.”

“And you were our miracle,” Helen finishes with a watery smile,  “I don’t know what to say.”

She looks between Liam, Zayn and Caroline, who puts her hand on Helen’s forearm and then Helen takes a breath.

“I’d love to thank you publicly, and well, I know it easier for you now, and well no time like the pre-.”

Zayn shakes his head, glancing at Liam as he does who gives  a brief nod of agreement, before he says.

“Caroline told us you told the kids that it was a present from Father Christmas, and well you can’t go back on that, let them believe that, let them believe in that till they get bored of ballet or are too old to care and are just so in love with doing  it that all they’ll be is grateful they were here, and we’ll be the coolest secret Father Christmasses the world’s seen for as long as you need.”

Caroline snorts out a laugh, “That was such a lovely speech Malik, and then you messed it up with coolest anything.”

Zayn narrows his eyes, then shrugs and says, “True.”

Right at the same moment Liam does.

Caroline opens her mouth, likely to complain about how predictable they are when a bell rings and Helen claps her hands together.

“That’s my cue, or the kids’ cue anyway,” she  glances between the three of them and then takes a step forward closer to Liam and Zayn and she tentatively places a hand on their arms

“You probably think you know how much this means, but you don’t, you never will and now I’ll just have to make sure that I listen 120 more times than I normally would to your music, but even then that would never be enou  gh, please come and see us anytime.”

Liam smiles, places his hand on top of the one that’s resting on his arm and says.

“We will.”

She manages half a smile, the tears threatening again, and then she’s gone.

They watch after as she disappears and then Caroline clears her throat and they turn to her, before she starts to walk in the direction of their seats, before she turns briefly.

“She’s right, you know, you two, you’re not that bad for a pair of soppy losers in love you know.”

Zayn and Liam grin at her, smug expressions threatening to break their faces.

“She loves us Liam.”

“She does Zed, she can’t help it.”

As they reach the seats, she sweeps her hand in a  gesture that says,”After you,” and they feel the gentle nudge of a knee against their arses as they find their seats.

“Just be grateful it’s not a slap round the chops you cheeky sods, never too old for an arse kicking.”

They sit down then,  glance at each other, the three of them smiling before the sound of sleigh bells fills the air.

“Break a leg Brooklyn,” murmurs Zayn as the lights dim, and the spotlight finds the stage.

'Grey's Anatomy': On the Set as Ellen Pompeo Makes Her Directorial Debut | THR

The actress opens up about learning a new craft after 13 years at the top of the call sheet as her co-stars describe her as an “actor’s director.”

It’s a crisp early February day in Hollywood and Ellen Pompeo has abandoned Meredith’s typical scrubs and style for her own jeans and T-shirt as she pulls double duty on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. Welcome to Pompeo’s first-ever time behind the camera: the actress, who has spent 13 seasons performing countless surgeries and perhaps even more soapy scenes in the Shondaland medical drama, is making her directorial debut.

With a portable speaker blaring classic rock from bands like Led Zeppelin and Journey, Pompeo shuttles from behind the camera bank to be closer to her co-stars between takes as she offers further direction on her vision for scenes in what promises to be an emotional hour infused with the humor and banter reminiscent of early season Grey’s Anatomy.

Inspired by executive producer and frequent director Debbie Allen — as well as creator Shonda Rhimes and her Year of Yes book — Pompeo initially balked at the idea that she add director to a résumé that includes development executive and running a production company.

“I have a new baby at home, two other adorable little kids, a husband, three dogs, four chickens and a fish and I told Debbie that I couldn’t possibly be here another minute than I already am,” Pompeo told The Hollywood Reporter during a break from directing at a February set visit.

Eventually, it was Allen — who has been directing Grey’s for more than seven years — who convinced Pompeo to change her mind by pointing out a very simple observation.

“In every episode where I’ve worked with her — she’s been in every episode I’ve directed — she’s always had ideas about the story, characters and what she’s doing. These are things that are a director’s concern, especially when it comes to other people,” Allen says, recalling an instance where Pompeo helped nurture a nervous guest star to get through a scene. “When I brought Denzel Washington in to direct, that was inspiring for her because she saw how everything pulled together.”

While many actors-turned-helmers tend to shadow other directors on the set — Scandal’s Darby Stanchfield did the same, as did Grey’s co-stars Kevin McKidd and Chandra Wilson before they stepped behind the camera — Allen noted that Pompeo had already done as much without even knowing she was doing it. (Pompeo did, however, wind up shadowing McKidd as well as Allen, who was on set to support the star in her new venture.)

“She’s shadowing all the time because she’s here all the time — she sees everything we do and is constantly commenting on things,” Allen says. “The main thing was translating her ideas cinematically and getting the language down. She knows what she sees and it’s just learning the lingo.”

Allen’s comments turned out to be pretty convincing when Pompeo took a moment to step back and consider the work beyond acting that she was already doing on Grey’s.

“I have a very specific vision and I see a lot of things that people miss, so I started thinking about it and it’s hard to say no to Debbie Allen — especially when your boss writes a book titled Year of Yes,” Pompeo says with a laugh. “I just have to try it once and If I don’t like it, I don’t have to do it again.”

That’s when Pompeo got to work blocking scenes and coming up with a vision for “Be Still, My Soul.” While most actors tend to start directing with episodes in which they are not prominently featured, that was not the case for Pompeo. The hour features the return of Maggie’s (Kelly McCreary) mother Diane Pierce (LaTanya Richardson Jackson) as the latter battles breast cancer. What’s more, Meredith plays a central role in not only the care for Diane, but also support for her half-sister, Maggie, as Pompeo also narrates the episode.

“What’s more surreal to me is that the first episode I’m ever directing is about a mother dying and having lost my mother so young, I don’t believe in accidents,” Pompeo says, noting that it was important for her daughters and other young girls watching to see a good example of a working mother willing to try something new. “There’s a reason this is the subject of my first episode that I’m ever directing; she’s up there shining down on me. This is what she wanted me to do.”

Pompeo credits Allen and director of photography Herb Davis for support during the process and called Grey’s a “great place to learn.” “One of my biggest strengths is admitting what I don’t know. I know a lot here and I’m pretty much an alpha character, but I have no fears about admitting what I don’t know. I don’t know the photography piece or the technical piece — but I know how I want the scene to look,” she says, noting that she asked for Davis’ blessing before directing as she confessed she’d be a little slow on the technical aspects of directing. “To be able to learn from somebody like Herb, who is such a master — his nickname is Rembrandt and he really does paint with light. I feel very lucky to learn the art of photography under his direction.”

Pompeo also asked to direct an episode penned by longtime Grey’s writer Meg Marinis (who scripted her first hour in season six and has been with Grey’s since) because the duo share the same “vibe.” “When I read her script, I knew exactly how I wanted every scene to look and how I wanted every scene to be played,” Pompeo says. “Being on a series this long, if you don’t have the spirit of wanting to make everything better all the time, then you can’t be here. That’s when you know you’ve stayed too long.”

As it turns out, directing also helped recharge Pompeo as the series is poised to head into May sweeps and its impressive 14th season next year as ABC’s No. 1 drama as younger viewers continue to find the series thanks to Netflix.

“I’ve had seasons where I didn’t think I could do this anymore but then something happens — and Shonda and I discuss [the show’s] evolution a lot — and the change that that brings inspires, invigorates and re-energizes you. That’s what directing is doing for me here,” she says midway through what was nine days of directing the episode. “Bringing in Debbie did that and even as sad as it is to lose characters, the new people that come in, it makes it feel different so it doesn’t feel like the same show anymore to me. The change is precisely what keeps me going and re-energizes me. I’ll absolutely direct again, I’ve been having a ball.”

While she would love to branch out to other Shondaland fare — Scandal’s 80-page scripts make directing that while juggling her commitment to Grey’s impossible — Pompeo would like to try cable and directing a pilot at some point down the road.

“The thing that surprises me the most is how much fun I am having,” Pompeo says. “I didn’t think I would have that much fun. The most fun I have to say is these actors, on the show — they’re amazing. Getting to pull these performances out of already brilliant actors has been super fun.”

For his part, Grey’s co-star Justin Chambers (Alex) described his longtime co-star as an “actor’s director” and noted that he’s proud of Pompeo for stepping behind the camera and taking on a greater leadership role with the series.

“She really seems like a natural,” he says. “Think about it: she’s been here for 13 seasons. She’s seen everyone come and go and worked with so many directors that she probably has taken something from everyone. And she knows these characters. I call her ‘Girl Friday because she’s a smart woman and she can watch, sit back and take it all in and knows everyone so well.”

To hear McCreary tell it, Pompeo’s ability to come in with a personal connection to the story helped bring a heightened energy to filming the episode.

“She’s trying a lot of new shots and she has a lot of ideas about what she wants to get across thematically with the pictures,” McCreary says of her onscreen sibling. “There’s a lot of Maggie on her own to depict this profound isolation of what it’s like when you’re taking over the caretaking role in a mother-daughter relationship, and when you’re in a foreign environment. Ellen has so many ideas for how to capture that. Before we get into these scenes, she adds to whatever imaginative and emotional life I have going on in a way that only she can because of her insight after 13 years of working on this show and playing Meredith Grey.”

In a larger sense, it should come as no surprise that Pompeo is finally taking advantage of the opportunities that exist within Shondaland, where stars including Wilson and McKidd as well as Scandal’s Tony Goldwyn, Stanchfield and Scott Foley have all learned the craft of directing.

“All it takes is just mentioning the interest,” says Wilson, who was asked by frequent Grey’s director Rob Corn to step behind the camera back in season four. “We’ve had several of our crewmembers that have come aboard to direct; our writers have; our script supervisor Nicole Rubio is off directing all over the place and she’s at Scandal now.”

While Pompeo has already asked if she can helm another Grey’s episode in the near future, don’t be surprised to see her co-star and friend Jesse Williams (Jackson) get the directing bug next.

“I’m going to be a director in this business,” says Williams, who, like Pompeo, is also starting to develop new ideas for TV. “I thought about directing years ago on this show and shadowed Chandra Wilson and it was wonderful. I learned a lot and she’s a great teacher. I kind of lost interest but I think the time might be coming soon for me to consider it again. Grey’s is a very safe place to do that. As a brand, Shondaland is all about empowerment and seeing potential in people who are often overlooked. We are in a culture where mediocrity is celebrated from certain groups and everyone else has to be excellent to get a chance to even be considered to maybe almost possibly be considered to get a chance at something. Shondaland goes straight to the talent.”

Pompeo’s directorial debut airs Thursday at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Yuuri and Grief/Loss as it Applies to his Career (and Victor)

Following my Victor and Grief post, here is a look at Yuuri’s perspective to his feelings of grief and loss surrounding his own career. Unlike Victor whose perspective we didn’t get until later episodes, Yuuri’s has been laid bare for us since episode 1. We’ve gotten the chance to hear his thoughts in specific moments and watch his evolution throughout the course of the show.

So one thing that I think will come as a surprise to absolutely no one is that he has been grieving over the loss of his career since episode 1. And added to that is that he accepted this loss by the time episode 12’s hotel scene rolled around.

Let’s take a moment to quickly review what kinds of loss Yuuri has been working through.

In the interest of not repeating a huge chunk of text that I already described at the beginning of my Victor post, I’m going to point you to it here and only describe the portions here that apply to Yuuri.

The type of loss that Yuuri works through during the show would fall under the category of Anticipatory Loss. In short, this is the anticipation of loss, regardless of whether the loss will actually come to pass or not. Victor says “I’ll get you gold at the GPF” but never actually states during the entire show that his coaching and time with Yuuri will end there. That interpretation of his words is entirely on Yuuri’s end. Yuuri then spends a lot of time convincing himself that he is going to lose Victor when there’s been no confirmation on whether that will actually happen or not.

The impact of Yuuri’s loss very clearly falls under the category of Compound Loss. It’s easy enough to see that through losing his career he feels like he is going to lose a lot more (the future tense and focus on how he feels about it are important as his loss is about something he feels he is going to lose in the future). He would be losing his role, identity, direction, and more. But most importantly he’d be losing his relationships, both with his friends/fellow skaters (Phichit for example) as well as with Victor, both before he knew him (he’d lose his chance to ever get to know him in any capacity) and after (he’d lose the relationship he had grown with him as a person and not just a skater).

As you can see, none of that really comes as a surprise because Yuuri himself has basically told us as much. So let’s get into the 5 stages and see where they play in.

1/2)Hi! I find the framework storyline interesting but I have a growing fear that they are getting dangerously close to a point of no return with what they're doing to some of the characters and their relationship. I fear that the trauma they're having them experience may leave scars too big to heal. I mean, how do you bounce back from being basically mindraped, from having "recovered" your lost baby just to lose her again, from forcefully becoming an absolutely evil version of yourself, how do

2/2) come back from knowing you had a hand in helping create something that messed up all of your friends (even if you wanted the complete opposite), what happens to a friendship when your evil version sadistically and joyfully tortured ( or tried to) one of you very best friends(fitz and Daisy). I’m exited but I’m really fearful about the consequences that this can have on everyone. The aftermath has to be treated very delicately if they want to believably have them be mentality ok-ish later.

Hi Anon!

I’ve seen a lot of people worried about the ‘recovery’ aspect of it.  And I’m going to be very blunt here.  A LOT of it won’t be addressed we have to make peace with that now.  While what is happening to them is horrible and should be addressed.  If it comes down to moving the story along and having more action to focusing on 7 characters recovering…they are going to move on..  We rarely see it on the shown on AOS, even with the show’s main character in Daisy.  We missed most of her recovery due to hiatus and the Ghost Rider Arc.  This isn’t that kind of show

They will have most of the healing happen over hiatus again (if we get renewed) and then we’ll be onto the next challenge.  They would rather show the action part of the story.  Then you add the dynamic that its not just one or two characters.  Its the entire cast.   Literally my expectations are for everyone to get a bit of a blurb and that will be it for now.  We DO NOT have time to go into it this season, there is too much too be done still and 5 Episodes to do it in.

Factor 2 we have to take into account is we don’t know what happens with all the memories.  They have said they will remember it, there will be things they can’t unsee, but the degree of it we’ll have to wait and see.  IE do they remove a good chunk of those memories to help them remember or as they pull them out.  Its going to be like Coulson with Tahiti or even Peeta from Hunger Games, they have to reconcile what was real and what wasn’t.  A nasty yet interesting twist would be that the hostages forget a good chunk if not all while its Daisy and Jemma who have to remember it all.  That in ways is a bit worse and would be an interesting story in my opinion.   What do they tell them?  How do you explain to Fitz why Daisy flinches around him sometimes.   What do you tell Mack when he dreams about his daughter?

Factor 3 “Its the Darkhold” AKA the catchall the writers are using this season to close loops, explain problems, and makes things “go away” that need too.

Every character is going to do things in there they are going to have a hard time reconciling with.  Fitz and May for example are brainwashed in some shape for form and being forced to do absolutely terrible things by AIDA.  They didn’t have a choice in their actions, in hurting their friends.  And both Daisy and Jemma know that.  Daisy knows what its like and will be able to help them heal while she’s going to have to deal with her own trauma from the experience.

I don’t mean to sound harsh or that I don’t care about the recovery aspect of it.  But I want everyone to really really manage their expectations here.   I feel more of the fall out will come in what the characters do after.   IE I can absolutely see Fitzsimmons taking a step back now, even if its a trip to she Seychelles so they can simply be together and deal with it on a more personal level.  Same with Philinda…while on the other hand I can see Coulson coming out of this like a man on fire and reclaiming Shield.  And even this is likely to come as some sort of quick montage.   A voice over talking as we see where they all are.

Finally, again I realize I sound awful, but this is TV and not real life.   We see people ‘bounce back’ quickly on shows all the time.  And again, its not that its not a very serious issue, or a trigger, or shouldn’t be taken lightly, its that they don’t have time.   They need to have what their audience is tuning into watch and in our case we are a Super Hero Show.

  • I’m going to wear you all down eventually on this one, but on Start Trek there is a fabulous 2 parter called Descent.
  • In it the Data (an android) is essentially drugged (he gets addicted to having emotions) and brainwashed by his evil twin and joins up with what was one of the biggest scariest baddies of the series, the Borg. (Sound familiar?).
  • The crew that goes into rescue him lands in major danger (I know right?) with some searching, some fending off the Borg from the ship, and you guessed it those closest to Data captured (nope not kidding).
  • The hostages included, I have to get kidnapped every few episodes Captain, Data’s BFF, and his ‘guide’ (ships counselor who has been helping him on his journey to become more human).
  • Also a fun note, those left to save the ship are the I don’t have a ton of captain training Doctor with a bunch of Redshirts (I KNOW!) who just so happens to have a very personal connection to one of the captives.
  • The searchers join up with a small group of the Borg that are trying to help and resist (For reals).
  • So Data’s brother is a jerk and in an effort to make Data prove his loyalty he has him use his friends for the experiments.  And Data tortures his BFF (Really not making this up guys).
  • BFF lands in bad bad shape and is to the point where one more session will kill him.
  • Luckily as happens in the last 20 minutes of the episode the two other hostages manage to reboot Data’s ethics Chip.  So he fights FINALLY fights back when he’s ordered to kill the captain…there is lots of powerful speeches here about who you really are (by Patrick Steward non the less)….and just as his brother is about to off them THE RESISTANCE ARRIVES!!!!  (Ya’ll can see where this is going right?  AIDA orders Fitz to kill Jemma only when he refuses she is about to kill them both and BOOM here comes the Cavalry…literally).

Okay so what was the point of all that aside from the total parallel to what is going on now?   Its that there was a very brief scene at the end after the BFF was recovering and Data was trying to apologize for his actions.  The BFF explained he knew it wasn’t him, he was being controlled, he was glad he was back.  Lots of friendship feels.  And next episode….like it never happened.  The emotion chip and BFF do come back into play again in a much more powerful way but not until the movie!   The story moved on, it had too.

We can see the fall out in the future.  Little things in shifting relationships and team dynamics.  Or larger things like Fitz being incredibly cautious about what he creates and/or who he works with.  But a full blown them all sitting down and hashing it out isn’t going to happen.

Our Times 我的少女時代 (2015)

Release date: 14 August 2015
Director: Frankie Chen
Cast: Vivian Sung, Darren Wang, Dino Lee
Genre: Romance, comedy

Lin Zhen Xin - your average Taiwanese schoolgirl struggling through the awkward years of pubertal adolescence - secretly pines after the most popular and perfect guy in school, Ouyang Extraordinary. Meanwhile, the school’s resident gangster and notorious badboy, Hsu Taiyu, harbours a secret crush on the school’s prettiest and most popular girl, Tao Minmin. Zhen Xin and Taiyu strike up a deal and decide to work together to help each other win the hearts of their dream dates. However, as the two grow to become unlikely friends, they begin to discover what true love really means and how growing up is never how one expects it to be.

My first impression of Our Times was how much it reminded me of You Are the Apple of My Eye. A coming-of-age film - set against the backdrop of a humble Taiwanese high school - and featuring the ever-present badboy (that has since become a staple in all teenaged films) who, against all odds, falls in love with the school’s prettiest and most perfect girl. Of course, the protagonist of this film here happens to be an ordinary, if socially awkward, run-of-the-mill teenager instead of the gloriously flawless Shen Chia Yi of You Are the Apple of My Eye.

Both films feature somewhat similar storylines about young love, growing up and receiving a hard knock on the head courtesy of reality - but it’s a theme that everyone can relate to, so it’s something that works. With its flashbacks to the 90s, Our Times creates a sense of nostalgia as it allows us to reminisce on the days without Internet, without mobile phones, without computers - where life was simpler, relationships were harder and love was as evasive as ever. Of course, this non-linear timeline and retro recollections is something that You Are the Apple of My Eye coined first, but Our Times does a lovely job of recreating and paraphrasing it.

The protagonist of the story is the loveable Lin Zhen Xin - with her dorky spectacles, tousled locks and bumbling clumsiness, she’s the epitome of the awkward adolescent girl and you can’t help but secretly root for her as you watch her mature from her schoolgirl naivete and blossom into a capable, functional adult. Vivian Sung does an excellent job in creating a character that all of us can love and cheer for, in spite of what seem like insurmountable odds and her character’s apparent mediocrity.

But the star of the show, really, is Hsu Taiyu. Can I just shamelessly admit up-front that I do not think that the movie would be half as enjoyable if it hadn’t cast such a good-looking lead actor? Where does Frankie Chen even find such people!!

You know how mothers and well-meaning friends always tell you to avoid badboys at all costs, because we all know how badboys and broken hearts have such an excellent track record together? Well, Hsu Taiyu is the exact reason why you should just throw all that advice out the window. As the school’s most notorious gangster, he skips classes, engages in mini turf-wars with other gangs, flirts outrageously with girls, drinks way too much beer, doesn’t seem to give two hoots about his future or education  - the list goes on and long story short, you wouldn’t want your daughter to go near Taiyu with a ten foot pole.

However, as the plot unfolds, we realise that beneath Taiyu’s hardened exterior lies a softer, more sensitive side of him that has been swept into seclusion by a terrible accident involving his best friend several years earlier. From the little gestures and thoughtful presents that he procures for Zhen Xin, it’s not difficult to figure out that beneath his bravado, Taiyi is just this big ol’ softie. I guarantee you that by the end of the movie, you would have fallen hopelessly in love with Taiyu and you will leave the cinema disgruntled and discontent with the world and its apparent lack of real-life Taiyus.

Taiyu and Zhen Xin are utterly adorable together - watching them fumble through the beginnings of their awkward friendship and wade through the ambiguous seas of young love, there’s that “Will they, won’t they?” feeling that keeps you guessing about whether or not they will FINALLY acknowledge their feelings for each other and get together already. It’s rare to care so much about a couple but these two really are characters that you grow to love over the course of the show and by the end of the movie, you’ll be smiling, laughing and crying along with them.

An honourable mention goes to Dino Lee, who plays Ouyang Extraordinary (LOL - I swear his name doesn’t sound so stupid in Chinese) - the school’s valedictorian and the most perfect, clean-cut boy you could ever imagine. For a first timer, I have to say that he does a pretty decent job of providing a worthy rival in love against Hsu Taiyu and it’s a good effort as his debut performance. I think he could live off doing toothpaste commercials for the rest of his life because he has the most brilliant smile EVER.

In spite of the excellent casting, fantastic cinematography and sharp, witty dialogue, Our Times does fall a little short of You Are the Apple of My Eye in terms of character development and its plot. While I enjoyed seeing Jerry Yan pop out of nowhere as future Hsu Taiyu, the jump in the timeline (THIRTY YEARS) is way too large for anyone to form any sort of attachment to the grown up versions of Zhen Xin and Taiyu. Over the course of the movie, we’ve grown to love the actors Vivien Sung and Darren Wang and their electric chemistry together - something that Jerry Yan and Joe Chen (who plays the older Zhen Xin) clearly lack because they only had like 3 minutes of screen time together. You Are the Apple of My Eye understood the importance of continuity and while the film did jump a few years into the future, it chose to retain its original actors and make them appear older and more mature so that we could see for ourselves, how the characters had grown up over the course of the years. And this sense of continuity is so important because it creates a sense of finality as we watch all the loose ends get wrapped up, as we see our favourite characters with the same faces (if older looking) get the endings that they deserve. Throwing in new actors to represent the old characters that I had grown to love just made me feel like I was watching an entirely different movie altogether and this really cheapened the ending of Our Times, leaving me feeling a tad bit unsatisfied.

In terms of plot, Our Times can be a little bit draggy in the sense that it focuses a little too much on the blossoming romance between Taiyu and Zhen Xin to the extent that the supporting cast drifts off into the backseat and becomes more of background noise than anything else. I’m never one to complain about romance or the excess of it, but I loved how You are The Apple of My Eye was a story about friendship as well as love; because this made it all the more relatable. Aren’t the best memories of our high school years mostly about the friendships that we form in boring, stuffy classrooms; the buddies that slogged with us through agonising exams, the classmates that we giggle with as we spy on the cutest boy in school? Because really, unlike Zhen Xin, how many of us have had the privilege of being chased by the hottest, baddest boy at school?

Nevertheless, Our Times definitely has a stronghold over You Are The Apple of My Eye in terms of its happier, simpler ending (Although in my opinion, You Are The Apple of My Eye has a better ending - while it may not be fairytale-happy, it’s realistic, mature and really makes you reflect on your youth and how you’ve grown up since then). Our Times does well in borrowing some of our favourite elements from the latter - the nostalgic feel of dusty, rudimentary classrooms, the simpleness of life in the 90s and its lack of technology, the understanding that young love - no matter the era - will always remain as frustrating and as heart-breaking as it always has been.

Our Times is one of those feel-good movies that no one (not even the older folk I think) will regret watching. It’s funny, it’s warm and it’ll pull at your heartstrings even - just don’t expect it to be realistic or logical and you won’t be disappointed. If only young love could be as simple and as rewarding as Our Times makes it out to be!

How good the movie was: 7/10
How much I enjoyed it: 9/10

Favourite scene (spoiler alert!)
At this point in the movie, it’s evident that Taiyu and Zhen Xin have begun to develop feelings for each other but neither of them has the balls to admit it. Zhen Xin continues to openly chase Ouyang and Taiyu pursues Tao Minmin with an almost resigned sort of vengeance.

In this scene, Ouyang sprains his ankle in the middle of one of his ever-famous basketball practices and hobbles over to the side bench, nursing his swollen ankle. Zhen Xin, who happens to be in the little provision shop just behind the bench, procures a popsicle stick from the store in hopes of offering it to Ouyang for him to ice his ankle. But instead of going up to him, she remains in the doorway just out of Ouyang’s sight, clutching the popsicle to her chest and hesitating to approach him.

Taiyu, who happens to be eating his favourite seasame noodles within the provision shop at the time, sees the entire sequence of events unfold and understands that Zhen Xin is way too shy to approach Ouyang on her own. He gets up, gives Zhen Xin a little push towards Ouyang and flashes her his trademark smirk, as if encouraging her to go for it.

As Zhen Xin happily offers the popsicle to Ouyang, Taiyu turns his back to her and we see that his eyes have welled up with tears and he’s trying his best not to cry as he watches the love of his life walk away from him towards another boy. :(

Someone hand me a tissue already!

I’m still the same old me, that’s all I’ll ever be

Supernatural 12x17, “The British Invasion,” and 12x18, “The Memory Remains.”

Two episodes about legacies, two episodes about how our actions can shape the future. Two episodes about making connections and breaking them. And irony. Don’t forget the irony. That’s key!

DR3 Spoiler Warning - here’s a post Kibou-hen interview with Kodaka and Higa (animation producer) from the Otomedia Winter 2016 issue. Much thanks given to @yukiz0me for scanning these!

This is … sure an interview, huh. I take no responsibility for anything anyone said in this. I’m just a translator living my life. I didn’t do anything! I was just trying to use my talent! It’s their fault for making something like this with it! (No it’s not actually that bad, but pretty lol-worthy in multiple frequent areas.)

Some topics covered include - reflection on the format and conceit of the series, Everyone Loves Sakakura, who would win in a fight, coming up with the ending first, SDR2.5, script revisions, all the things that got cut from Kibou-hen for time, Munakata’s character, Kodaka admitting he has no idea what happens next in-universe, ideas for spinoffs with the 77th class or 78th class, blu-ray extras… And More!

Sawamura Eijun Character Analysis

Warning: This is an analysis that focuses on child abuse and the effects it has on the psyche of the main character. I’m not trying to paint him as a tragic abuse victim, but simply attempting to map out some of the causes of his personality and development. If you are simply into daiya for the fun happy-go-lucky parts of it I recommend you not read this.

I know that violence is often used in especially shounen anime as a type of comedic relief. The patterns are usually quite clear. Some boy acts stupid and either his father or the female protagonist will beat him senseless. These are usually rather stylized examples and no character blinks at the portrayal, there’s not physical evidence a panel later that portray the effects of the violence and the characters are in chibi form, portraying stilly poses, during the act:

V/ Jihyun Kim Wedding Dance: One Shot

Hello everyone c: there was originally suppose to be only two winners for the wedding dance one shot: Saeran Choi & Jumin Han  but I made a open debate for either Seven or V :) Reading the arguments I decided to side with V :)  Its been amazing writing this little series and I hope I can do future polls :) Now lets enjoy the ending of this series. The song of the wedding dance is: Like I’m Going To Lose You, by Meghan Trainor ft John Legend

“The one word in the English language, fuck it, in any language, is the word almost. That one small six-letter word has the power to change your mood drastically. It has the power to make you feel happiness and yet it can be the reason for the death of the old you. Almost is one hell of a word” - Mod Saeran

I don’t believe people know the real meaning of almost. The power that “almost” has is very terrifying because I almost died because of Rika. I almost sacrificed my life for her simply because I was in love with her. I looked into the mirror and all I could see was was blur, the eye surgery I had months ago was a success but they did say it would be slow process. How pathetic am I for being a baggage for (y/n). I could see some things but the rest of my life was one huge blur. I left the bathroom and I saw Jumin, my best man, and the rest of the RFA who are my groomsmen. I walked closer to them and fell on my knees letting the demons take over “ I DON’T FUCKING DESERVE HER! SHES BEEN IN LOVE WITH ME FROM THE BEGINNING AND ONLY RECENTLY I LOVED HER BACK” I cried out shaking from reality. Jumin kneeled on the floor with me and pulled me into a hug “Jihyun I known you for a long time, you are practically my brother, please don’t be hard on yourself. I am truly sorry you have to go through this but just know we are your family and we will be here for you” he hugged me even tighter and I opened my eyes and I saw my family. They all helped me freshen up because they were afraid something might happen to me. Damn, I’m a baggage to everyone in the whole RFA. I blinked quickly a few times and I noticed I looked quite decent. I smiled and was ready to meet my bride.

I grabbed her hand and brought her closer to me. The whiff of her perfume brought me to so many memories that it made it seem like I was watching a movie in my head. I brought her closer to me and then reality hit me, Im actually married. However, she isn’t the one I want. I don’t love her…. my heart belongs to someone else. I grabbed her face and made her look into my hazy eyes “ Im sorry, I only married you because of the baby but, my heart belongs to someone else, enjoy the party” I kissed her forehead and went to look for Jumin. I accidentally bumped into Saeran and he knew what my crazy ass was thinking. He gathered the whole RFA and they knew where I needed to go, where I needed to be.

I kneeled down and looked into your eyes. My god, I am thankful that my vision gives me enough strength to stare at your angelic face. “My precious (y/n) how thankful I am that we were born in the same century because I was graced with your angelic beauty. You showed me the reality of love, the cold hard truth of it. That love isn’t about the good but also the bad. I’m sorry that I didn’t return your love till later, but please understand I only married Rika because she is carrying my child. You are my true love and I just wish I realized what love really is before it was to late” I grabbed my phone and played the song that I am going to dedicate to you.

I found myself dreaming In silver and gold Like a scene from a movie That every broken heart knows we were walking on moonlight And you pulled me close Split second and you disappeared and then I was all alone

I gave a heavy sigh and looked into your soul “You came into my life out of nowhere. Whenever I chatted with you briefly in the RFA messenger, my heart skipped a beat and I always looked forward to talking to you, even if it was once in a blue moon. When I noticed you weren’t active in the messenger as you use to be, I visited the apartment and noticed you were ill. It was an honor taking care of you because you could of simply refused but you didn’t. You didn’t even ask me about my sunglasses but I told you either way. When you got better, I still visited because you were a bright light that kept pulling me towards you. I always thought to myself, ‘Why does (y/n) have a strong hold on me if I haven’t even looked into her eyes’ because looking into a persons eyes you can tell what kind of soul they had. That night that we saw each others soul, we made love that night. Neither of us didn’t plan it but the moment we looked into each others eyes, our souls gave that little ‘hah I finally found you’ type of feelingI was opening my heart to you and I wasn't afraid because you needed to know….

In the blink of an eye, Just a whisper of smoke, You could lose everything The truth is you never know, So I’ll kiss you longer baby, Any chance that I get I’ll make the most of the minutes and love with no regrets

I wiped my tears away gently trying not to worsen my vision because I needed to look into your eyes while confessing my truth to you “The few months that we spent together was honestly the best time of my life. Who cares how cliche it sounds but its my reality. You were my personal oasis and I will be forever grateful that you provided a heaven for me while I was stuck in hell. I didn’t tell you the truth of my situation because I knew Rika will kill you off in a instant and that was the last thing I wanted to happen. I told you one night that I couldn’t come back and visit because I needed to take care of business and all you did was kiss me and we made the most passionate love that night. It was our souls and bodies melting together into one. You made me breakfast and you kissed me with so much tenderness and you looked at me with those eyes and simply said ‘ We will find our way back to each other don’t worry baby. We will always find our way back cause our souls loved each other for so long that nothing will tear us apart’ and I kissed you not knowing what life would bring us. Oh how I wish you were wrong my love”

I’m gonna love you, Like I’m gonna lose you, I’m gonna hold you, Like I’m saying goodbye wherever we’re standing, I won’t take you for granted ‘cause we’ll never know when, When we’ll run out of time so I’m gonna love you, Like I’m gonna lose you ,I’m gonna love you like I’m gonna lose you

“ You walked in that night and I saw you, Saeyoung, and Saeran caught in the trap of my ex lovers web. Emotions were high because everyone was finding out the cold hard truth of my ex lover. That she was the reason for everyones pain and suffering but it was worse because I knew what was going on. I notice Saeran pointing his gun at Rika and old habits die hard that I was getting ready to take the hit. What I didn’t know that you were going to jump in front of me and take the bullet yourself.” I wiped the tears from my eyes and finally had a clear picture of your face that was on your tombstone. Your tombstone. It still hurts to admit it. You died for me. You risked your own life for me while I was risking my life for another. Your last words to me was the one that dragged my heart and soul with you to the after life. I closed my eyes and remembered your final moments: “Thank you for giving me forever in just a short span of a couple of months. Please do not feel guilty because its an honor dying in your arms Jihyun Kim.” I remember you coughing out blood while my hand was firmly placed on your wound hoping the bleeding stopped. You looked at me and your soul was leaving your body “We will always find our way back to each other, I love you Jihyun, Ill see you in our next life” You eyes were slowly closing but I kept screaming for someone to do something. Three minutes later you died in my arms. I witnessed your final breathe and from that moment, I died as well.

I got up and digged a little hole next to your tombstone and buried the ring that was wrapped with a red ribbon with the wedding vowels I had attached to it.

I breathed in while placing the dirt to cover the rings “Here are my vows to you. I promise when we meet again, I will cherish you and love you till the end of my life time. With this ring that I am placing next to you, I promise to always walk by your side till the end of time. You are the owner of my heart, body, mind and soul and it doesn’t matter if we couldn’t spend this life together because I know our next one will be beautiful. You don’t understand how much I miss you when I wake up and you aren’t next to me. I don’t know what I ever did to deserve such a precious soul like yours but I thank God every moment that we were together for blessing me with you. I vow to found you in our next life and I vow to make sure that our forever will be longer”

I did a small prayer for you and looked at your picture again and sighed “ I love you (f/n) (l/n) and I cant wait to spend forever with you again in our next life. Thank you for teaching me what love really is and I hope in our next life we can have a family of our own. I love you. Im glad we almost had our happy ending.” and I walked toward Jumins limo where the rest of the members were waiting. Jumin gave me a reassured hug and the other members were giving me warm smiles, while Saeran looked into my eyes and I saw his soul was taken from him as well. Before I lost sight of your tombstone I breathed in heavily and exhaled “ Goodbye (y/n) see you soon” and closed my eyes.
