it's fandom not a job

so after the birthright quest I had to draw this absolute kitten

|commission info|

Don’t forget Gorillaz fans, Jamie Hewlett exist! He made all you’re favorite band members come to life in the music videos, shorts, ect! He continues drawing them countless times and works day and night to give you new content with the band members! So please appreciate him!!! ❤❤❤

So, serious talk.

How is anyone supposed to both have a full time job and be a solo 1d fan?

Like… how?

this (like every other antiblack thing that happens in kpop) just proves how you guys care more about your idol being “a pure unproblematic sunshine” than you care about the black community within and outside of the fandom

lmao pansy parkinson isnt a ‘’’tough girl feminist who doesnt play by anyones rules’’’ shes a bully and is blatantly racist and prejudiced and i wont have people glorifying her for this

Because sth like this crossed my dash again and it already bugged me during S12.. yeah I get that Dean’s been let down by his family a lot and it’s sad and tragic but - did you ever pause to consider that this time it was less about him and more about the mental place of the person who ‘let Dean down’? Like Mary’s been ripped out of her peaceful place in Heaven and should immediately know how to be around her sons who are at least ten years older than her?
And I’m having a hard time trying to think of a time Cas ever really let Dean down.
“I was there, where were you?”  Well, he was also there, but turned his back again so he wouldn’t ruin Dean’s happiness (or what he perceived as happiness), and guy was fighting a Civil War of Heavenly proportions give him some credit. I did not ever see this as Cas letting Dean down tbh.
Then in S12? Cas has had to deal with his depression since basically S7, and again and again it’s been thrown in his face what a fucking failure he is, but sure, hold it against him that he lied to Dean because that totally was all about Dean’s feelings, not at all about Cas’ mental health or anything.

Sorry this turned into a rant, it just really bugs me when characters making wrong decisions because they’re mentally not in the right place is held against them

  • what they say: oh how can you ship that, one of the characters is a bad person, are you a survivor using the ship for coping?
  • what they mean: i have little to no understanding of how fiction works and how people interact with it. i genuinely believe enjoying actions in fiction means condoning them in reality, and i don't have any understanding of the transformative nature of fandom. i think it's my job to go around to people i don't even know and demand they submit their extremely personal history of trauma to me so that i might decide if they are Traumatized Enough to be permitted to enjoy their fictional content. and by logical extension, if someone is unwilling to submit to this query of their background or if they *aren't* Traumatized Enough, then they are a Bad Person and I will start a hate campaign against them about how they get off to IRL abuse/rape. and i'll pat myself on the back as i do it because i'm more Pure than they are, i am a Better Person, and that insulates me from having to do any critical thinking about fiction in my entire life. (also i am lowkey jealous that fandom enjoys things that i don't like so i'm just THRILLED to have an excuse to shit on the people who like the thing that i don't.)

I’m not saying fanartists who do commissions don’t also get this treatment, but people are a lot quicker to try and shut you down when it’s fanfic. God forbid we do what fanartists have been doing since forever.

You can get in trouble / have your account taken down if you advertise patreon or commissions on AO3, because AO3 has a strict policy against anything that could turn a profit.

You’ll definitely get in trouble if you try to collect your fic and publish it on amazon ebooks without changing the character names and details (aka filing the serial numbers off)

But jesus wept, you’re not going to get sued for writing $10 pharmercy fanfic commissions on tumblr.

Your PTSD and triggers are not an excuse for you to scream at people for writing fic that might trigger you. I don’t care if they tagged it or not. You are responsible for your own consumption of media and taking care of yourself.

I have a list of triggers. If I see one of them listed as a warning or come across one in a fic, I stop and decide what to do. Maybe I’ll read anyway because the story is interesting enough. Maybe I’ll back away because it’s not a good day to test myself.

What I won’t do is tell writers they’re terrible people because they write things that might cause me problems. Instead, I take responsibility for myself and my decisions because part of dealing with PTSD and triggers is understanding I have control over how I respond. Maybe that control is weaker some days than others, but it’s always there.

I handle my shit. Handle your shit. No one else is required to handle your shit.

Honestly Rey being either a Skywalker or a Solo has been dead for such a long time now, not only because of all the hints that those involved with the production have been dropping to disprove the theories, but because the canon timeline doesn’t allow for it without completely compromising the original trio’s integrity.

In Bloodline, a canon novel revolving around Leia taking place around six years before TFA, we learn that Ben was travelling with Luke up until it was exposed to the public that Leia was the daughter of Darth Vader. She had (understandably) wanted to take this secret to the grave, but the news had left everyone in shock– especially Ben who had no prior knowledge to being Vader’s grandson. He must have been devastated and confused, causing him to fall to the dark side during a moment of weakness.

Rey Solo is not only dead because neither Han nor Leia recognized their daughter in TFA, but throughout Bloodline Leia gives no hints to having ever had another child. Her thoughts always lead to Han or Ben, and when the news of Vader broke out, she rushed to send a message to Ben trying to explain it to him before anyone else got the chance to. She never thought about a supposed second child. Again this book is canon material and there would be some major continuity errors if the thought of her ‘lost daughter’ never crossed her mind.

Rey Skywalker is also dead with Bloodline because Rey was abandoned on Jakku roughly 15 years ago, whereas the destruction of Luke’s temple and Ben’s defection happened only 6 years ago. If Rey was Luke’s daughter, that would mean he abandoned her on a dangerous planet and then continued to research Jedi lore and train Ben, his nephew. It makes absolutely no sense and compromises Luke’s character. I know– and expect, Luke to be far more cynical  and morally grey in TLJ, but that’s because his confidence in himself has been shattered from his failures and Ben’s fall to the dark side.

These theories have been dead for so long and I’m not sure why they’re still so largely accepted in the fandom. I now that most fans tend to stick to just watching the films, but even if that’s the case, TFA itself makes it quite clear she isn’t related to our former heroes.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello, this is your daily reminder to stop sending artists death threats for drawing something you didn’t like.

Thank you, have a nice day

Why hate alone... when you can hate AND create? At. The Same. Time!

Maybe someone has said this before me but…

I used to hear of fandom wars but I never really understood it until I joined Tumblr and began to read about the juicy stuff that people think of each other’s ships and biases and whatnot.

I used to think anti-Sterek meant Scott stans/Stydia shippers but apparently, those are two very different sets of people.

I just spent my morning browsing the “Scott McCall Defense Squad” on Tumblr and most (not all) hate Stiles and compare everything about him to Scott and say Scott is the better person, the alpha, The Teen Wolf. Stiles is just the irrational, distrustful, disloyal court fool (which, let’s be honest, is the role he was cast for).

Inspired by the book American Gods by Neil Gaiman. This is an AU story about a world where every god imagined or convinced becomes or has been real.

Condemned for consummating their love, Seiryuu and Suzaku are expelled to Earth, stripped of their abilities, and forced to live an immortal life of uncertainty in themselves and in each other. Cursed to be in pain when separated but to always drift apart, the two find themselves at an ultimatum, after a millennium of insufferable pain and delirious joy. Their heaven, and the courts that banished them, are all but dead and forgotten. If heaven is as weak as the rumors suggest, can they reclaim their powers and take on what is left of their tormentors? Or do they continue this life not knowing when their next separation and punishment will happen?
