Hey dudes! Here’s my second attempt at using GTA V for my animations, with its process along the way :) It took me a little longer than I expected, but whatever, it was a lot of fun to do and i learned tons of things (mostly the hard way). I’ve been picturing images for this song since the first time I’ve heard it, years ago. Didn’t really end up the way I envisionned in my head for so long, but I feel a bit lighter now. I want to do others, there’s a ton more where that came from, don’t know when I’ll find the time though! EDIT : Here’s the folder for this animation : https://drive.google.com/open… , you’ll be able to get your hands on the files, if you’re curious (it’s heavy, almost 4 gig, 6 when unzipped) ;)
Just wanted to check in real quick since I’ve been MIA for a week. My Lupus meds are kicking in and I have a lot more energy so I’m working two jobs now (good ol’ froyo shop and now an aquarium store) to help pay some vet bills. So I’ve been out of the house a lot, and I’ve been staying offline to help me zero in my focus on the remaining Home art and get it done without distractions.
61 drawings are sitting in my “Chapter 18″ folder but there are still a handful to go– I really think I will make my June deadline though! :) Here’s a snapshot of every (blurred) finished piece. Thanks for your support! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
i was going through my wip writing folder and found the 3,670 word long outline for that omgcp parks and recreation au i started last year. and suddenly i really, really want to finish it so i can finally be at peace.
“Oh,” Spencer trails off from the conversation, his eyes now fixated on the top of your head.
“What?” You ask worriedly, bringing one of your hands up to your head. Spencer quickly reaches for your hand before you touch your hair and your blood runs cold. “Spencer, what the hell is on my head?”
“Y/N, don’t freak out and don’t run,” he grimaces.
“You’re freaking me out, Spence,” you confess.
“There is a black widow on your head, if you move too quickly or if it feels threatened it will bite you,” Spencer says, still eyeing the bug on your head. You wanted to scream and run, but instead you stood there and began to silently cry.
“Take it off!” You yelp.
“Keep your eyes on me, don’t move,” Spencer instructs and grabs one of the files from the table beside him, lifting it up towards your head.
At the speed of light, Spencer slides the folder underneath the spider so it tumbles onto the cream colored surface, off your head. Spencer quickly rushes over to the window a few feet away and tosses it out from there.
You stood in your place, paralyzed with fear before bringing your hand up to your head to inspect if there was any damage.
“I almost died!” You cry out. “You saved my life.”
“Actually, its not likely for you to die of a black widow bite seeing as there hasn’t been a person that died from them in over ten years,” Spencer elaborated, “also, the black widow tends to not inject any venom into the bite and no serious symptoms develop. So really, I just saved you a trip to the doctors and from a short-lived infection.”
“I still almost could have died!” You exclaim, holding your hand over your heart. Spencer stared at you, wondering if you heard his explanation, which you did, you just chose to believe that you had a near death experience with a spider.
“Thanks, Spence, I owe you,” You say, rushing over to him to encircle your arms around his waist.
“It was no problem, I guess,” Spencer smiles, enjoying the sudden affection.
I’ve been thinking about whether or not I should post this, but I figured that after two years of keeping this in my folders I might as well. There are two panels missing because I had no idea what to put there, which was one of the reasons I didn’t post it right away. Anyways, enjoy! (link to the song on youtube)
Posting these because I’ve been pretty inactive and wanted you guys to see a couples of the stuff that i had in my sketch folder. these are all pretty cropped and resized…. I don’t think ill ever finish them all, and no, these are’nt all of the sketches I have. OTL i never finish anything haha (ps you can click for descriptions!)
Unsurprisingly, things were busier than I thought they’d be, so I apologise for not getting to anybody until the last minute!
@sarspax: That’s good to hear! I’ll look into X-Split and see if I can get Picarto rolling for my streams in the future.
@an-evolved-dinosaur: Haha, thank you! I don’t think I have an answer for you for what I would consider my best piece! My standards shift pretty regularly depending on what I’m working on or what I’ve recently learned - which can upend what I had previously considered my “best” work and knock it back down to “needs considerable improvement”. While this is generally good since it helps to encourage improvement, it can also be frustrating since satisfaction with anything is pretty short-lived. This in itself can be a downer that can counter-act improvement if you’re not in a very good place. Despite any strides I have made recently, no recent work has really struck me as especially good or great. Even though the anatomy is clearly outdated and there are issues with lighting, I’m inclined to say that as of right now this piece from 2014 stands as my current “best”?
Each time I run into it in my folders or my gallery when sorting images I generally feel that it’s still the image that I need to match or exceed in some way despite its age. I don’t consider this a bad thing so much as a reflection of personal circumstance that I’m still looking to exceed something made almost three years ago. It doesn’t have anything to do with feeling like I haven’t improved or anything like that - I’ve definitely improved since 2014, but it’s been incremental improvements that are not especially apparent in the final product. Overall, the work hasn’t changed or especially improved presentation wise since 2014, which needs rectifying.
Eldritch imagery is one of my favourites, actually! Depicting the unknown while still keeping it “unknown” is something I really get excited about in art. Part of the excitement comes from not being able to really tap into creating that kind of imagery myself since I’m so focused on figuratively dissecting subjects so I can better understand them when I draw them. I more or less act towards “removing” that unknown-ness in my art in one way or another. Most of the time it’s intentional, since it’s related to my field of interest in terms of art-as-a-career, and a part of general interest of wanting to understand what I see. This is a good thing, but it can result in some spinning wheels sometimes.
@noidboid: Thanks a lot! That’s very encouraging to hear - hopefully the new system I will have going will still keep things simple and accessible for those who prefer to use Tumblr over dA and Twitter. I will definitely look into IFTT - it sounds like it could be just what I need.
ANON: Thanks, Anon! Out of my full lair, they are probably my favourite dragons to theorise about, and I’d definitely like to draw them someday. Their almost patchwork appearance (afforded quite a bit by the Toxin and Poison genes) played a really big role in how I decided to characterise them and their offspring. They’re a sad pair.
@arourallisreborn: Ho! I hadn’t until now! That is the cleanest case of a living two-headed animal I’ve ever seen:
I hope there’s an x-ray of her skeleton or musculature online somewhere, I’d love to see what the split looks like on the skeletal and muscle level - it’d be super helpful in figuring out how something like Cerberus could theoretically work. Thanks a lot for mentioning this to me!
gosh the most cursed thing is that when i was into hetalia, i imported some pictures from a folder and onto my ipod and the folder + images have long since been deleted from my computer but the freaking. theyre still there on my ipod and i cant figure out how to delete them. its been 4 years.
