Nothing will ever be funnier to me than the time when I was watching Teen Wolf with my dad, -who is one of those people where if a character isn’t explicitly stated to be NOT STRAIGHT doesn’t think it’s possible for them to be lgbt+ at all-, and out of nowhere he turned to me and was all “So Stiles is like, not straight, right? Like, he’s Bisexual?” and I was just in total shock but I eagerly asked him why he thought that and his next answer, with no hesitation was, “Well he’s clearly into Derek. They flirt literally every scene they have together.” And I just. Stiles and Derek’s growing relationship on the show, whether intentional or not, is so fucking obvious that even MY DAD picked up on it. And I couldn’t be happier about that.
Stiles thought he’d never feel as guilty as he did the day he found out Scott had been bitten by a rogue alpha werewolf, little did he know things would only get worse as the struggle to keep his secret from his best friends drags on.
Then Derek Hale gets thrown into the mix, because of course he does.
Few expected this little school from Massachusetts to return for yet another Frozen Four appearance. But Samwell University is yet again in the NCAA Championship after an unbelievable run through the playoffs.
In the magical land of Netflix, they have a separate poster set for Year 2 Spring Semester.
I didn’t want to mess up the flow of my release dates, so just accept this comes out July 4th.
A world without parents is a lonely, portless world with no safety and no justice - this is a truth Stiles Stilinski learned when he was very young. But at nine years old, at twelve, he couldn’t understand just how true it was; that the powerful, indefinable wrongness that obscured his memories of his mother was more than a child’s sense of unfairness at having his mom taken away.
It’s not until a globetrotting great-aunt blows back into town after a many-years absence that it starts to dawn on him: that his mother’s death was anything but natural; that it was certainly anything but fair.
This was submitted back when this blog was just starting up (five months ago!!) and I’ve finally gotten around to reading it! Thanks to mouseface for sending it in.
First off, I’m honestly stunned this fic isn’t one of the fandom darlings planted firmly on every Sterek rec list ever made. Seriously. I’m baffled. I’m rubbing my eyes and staring at the measly 90 kudos the final part has scrounged, wondering how it could have slipped through the cracks, and actually getting kind of mad about it?
It involves the discovery that everyone’s memories of Stiles’ mother have been tampered with and that Stiles and Derek’s histories are more closely intertwined than they ever could have realised. (When I read the series summary, I thought it was implying that the Sheriff is dead too, which is a sometimes-dealbreaker for me. If you’re the same, have no fear! He’s very much alive. Edit: Also, the series is marked as incomplete, but the ending of the third part reads as a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, so you don’t need to worry about cliffhangers!)
It’s cerebral and confidently written, with complex original characters that blend seamlessly into the universe, and a lovely slow burn to Derek and Stiles’ relationship. It also gets better and better as the parts go on. If there was ever a fic in this fandom deserving of more love, this is it. Let’s make a difference!
Imagine Stiles and Derek have a fight and Stiles knows it’s his fault but there’s nothing he can do to make it up to Derek. Out of ideas and dreading the thought of breaking up with Derek, he runs to Cora and begs her for her help.
goddamnit now i'm thinking about bb derek playing party games 😑 (hs au, obvs) super awkward jock derek sitting in a circle with jydia and all their jock friends (and stiles too they guess whatever but just because he brought alcohol) playing truth or dare or sth and derek's like. sweating through his t-shirt bc stiles gets handsy when drunk and rn he's leaning over to fondle derek's biceps and shoulders and going 'huh. no wonder finstock's been trying to recruit you for lacrosse.'
someone probably dared derek to strip his shirt off and flex his muscles, which, fine, whatever, would probably be no big deal on a normal day because he changes in front of most of these people for basketball anyway and they just wanna make him look kinda stupid. but no. today stiles is here, and lydia knows about derek’s huge crush on him–not that he would ever, ever tell her about it, but lydia is terrifying and omnipotent–and she is 101% doing this to him on purpose. but he’s a little drunk already and feeling looser than usual, so he does it. his friends mockingly wolf-whistle, but a few of their girlfriends and one or two of the guys give him lingering looks, and he feels more awkward than ever. especially because one of those guys is stiles, which is weird and stressful and agh, because why is he staring so intently? sure, he’s a little drunk, but he’s looking at derek like he’s in a staring contest with his pecs. and yeah, derek knows he’s conventionally attractive, his sisters love to tease him about how cuuuute everyone at school thinks he is, but really he’s just wildly awkward and nerdy and would seriously like his shirt back on, particularly so the cutest guy in school will stop looking at him like that. he has no idea why it makes him feel so inadequate when stiles has given no indication it’s negative attention, but it does. he grabs his shirt back and is about to pull it on when stiles grabs him by the bicep, running his hand along it and blinking slowly because he’s more than a little tipsy, and says, “huh, no wonder finstock’s been trying to recruit you for lacrosse.” derek hopes people will attribute the sudden redness in his cheeks to the alcohol rather than being totally and completely flustered, but based on the team’s snickers, he doubts it. the next day, when stiles is sober and derek is on his way to the gym for practice, someone grabs him lightly by the arm again. “so it wasn’t just my drunk mind running wild,” stiles says, winking. “you really should try out for lacrosse sometime. maybe you and i can get in some workouts together. and not necessarily in the gym.” derek is at a loss for words when mccall suddenly turns the corner, and stiles runs to catch him. over his shoulder, he grins and yells, “text me!” and derek is ready to melt into a puddle on the floor. but… after he texts stiles.
